These are listed below. Bear in mind that this list is dated for June 15, and is expected to grow over time.

Xbox One backwards compatibility is available now for Xbox Preview Program members and will roll out to everyone this fall.

Digital Xbox 360 games that you own will automatically appear in your “Ready to Install” queue. Disc-based Xbox 360 games, meanwhile, will work on Xbox One after you install them.

Titles That Support Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Program Has Today

Microsoft kicked off the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Program with a list of 100+ games. Since then, it has added new titles at a steady clip. Some of them are big brands that youll remember. Others are Arcade and independently developed titles from the Xbox 360.

If a game is listed as Disc Only, those with a digital copy of the game cant use that copy to play on their Xbox One.

Xbox 360 games available through Xbox One Backwards Compatibility today are:

Microsoft plans to keep adding to this list as time goes on. You can keep checking here for new titles. Early on, the company would hold a set of games, then announce them all once a month. It decided to throw that idea out roughly a month ago, adding new games to the program whenever theyre ready.

Because Microsoft has to work directly with partners to make new titles available, predicting what titles are next is complicated. Microsoft is encouraging users to show support by voting for their favorite games to make it into the program using the Xbox Feedback website.

Games that are given to Xbox 360 users as part of the Games with Gold program will always come to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Program, Microsoft says. In recent months the firm has also partnered up with publishers to include older games with their new titles. Just Cause 3 included a code for a free download of Just Cause 2. Quantum Break will come with a free copy of Alan Wake.

Xbox One Peripherals Now Work on Xbox 360 Games

Officially. Its no longer alive. Kinect, the motion-sensing marvel gadget for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, has already died a number of times, but today seems to be the last spadeful of dirt on its grave. Microsoft has announced that it will stop producing Kinect and that no more will be sold after stores have ran out.

The Elder Scrolls Iv: Oblivion

Bethesda rarely fails to impress, and the early-generation role-playing game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion certainly lived up to expectations. With far more realistic environments and characters than we saw in Morrowind for the original Xbox, its among the best games the company has ever made, and the freedom you have to choose between so many different class options means theres a play-style for just about everyone. Its sequel, Skyrim, is the perfect game to play next on your Xbox One.

List Of Compatible Titles

In the following chart, any Xbox game with a “Yes” for its region will work in that region, and only in others which also have “Yes” . “Yes” in the 60Hz column indicates that the PAL title supports 60Hz output mode, and thus is compatible with the Xbox 360 VGA cable.

A game with “Yes” in the widescreen column has built-in support for widescreen, and will fill high definition displays. If the widescreen column is “No”, pillar boxing is used to preserve aspect ratio on high definition displays. Note that all compatible games will stretch to widescreen if the Xbox 360 is configured for standard or enhanced definition .

Any game not on the list at all does not work in any region at present.

How Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Works

As described by Microsoft at E3 2015, the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Program is almost magical in its simplicity. The program revolves around Microsoft and its publishing partners working through their back catalog of Xbox 360 games to add support for Xbox One. Video game developers dont have to rewrite their game. Instead, Microsoft emulates the Xbox 360 inside the Xbox One.

As far as the game knows, its still running on the Xbox 360. You have access to the same multiplayer modes that you did with the Xbox 360 version of the game. The familiar Xbox Guide from the Xbox 360 surfaces in each game too. Cloud saves are imported to the Xbox One, provided that users still have them. This means that you can pick up exactly where you left off on titles you havent touched in ages.

Besides offering up Lives online capabilities, games in the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Program pick up some features specific to Xbox One games. Users can record video and take screenshots from their Xbox 360 games.

Also, Xbox 360 games surface Achievements in the Activity Feed when theyre unlocked. Switching between two digital Xbox 360 games doesnt require you to switch discs, though switching between to physical Xbox 360 games does.

How Does Backward Compatibility Work On Xbox Series S

Those that opt to pick up the digital-only and slightly weaker Xbox Series S will have a different backward compatibility experience from those that have an Xbox Series X. Firstly, and most obviously, you cannot use the physical copies of Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One games you own for backward compatibility because the Series S does not have a disc drive. Also, while it doesnt always hit the same heights as Microsofts previously released Xbox One X, Eurogamerstill highlighted how games will still be upgraded in their own way.

Original Xbox and Xbox 360 games will get upgraded to run at a 1440p resolution, which is a bit lower than the 4K the Xbox One X could achieve. This also means that when you play an Xbox One game on the Series S, your experience will be an upgraded Xbox One S game rather than the enhanced Xbox One X games that Xbox Series X players get to experience.

That said, many of the games will still come with performance enhancements on Xbox Series S that are better than what the Xbox One X could achieve. Eurogamer specifically points out better dynamic resolution scaling, texture filtering quality, HDR support, and loading times. It can also play some games at up to 120fps, just like the Xbox Series X.

There are approximately a million Naruto games, so it is not like Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One owners cannot get their fix of shinobi-themed action. However, Rise of a Ninja and The Broken Bond are so fantastic that they deserve to be experienced by as many people as possible.

No other games based on the series capture the feeling of living in Naruto‘s world as well as these two Xbox 360 exclusives. Cent: Blood On The Sand

What Xbox 360 Games Work On Xbox One?

This may seem like an odd choice, as not many appreciated this game at the time. However, the premise alone should pique players’ interest. It was an ambitious stab at a style game, but with the titular 50 Cent and his G-Unit being the playable cast.

The story involves 50 Cent performing in the Middle East and getting paid a literal crystal skull for his work. A terrorist cell wants to grab this prize, so 50 Cent and his crew start a war. Its a good time with a friend via co-op, to say the least, from this Xbox generation.
