Final Fantasy 7 Remake Coming To The Xbox And Nintendo Switch Very Likely To Happen

Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released on April 10, 2020. It was exclusive to the Playstation platform however, after an entire year it looks like Square Enix is ready to release it on other platforms.

Square Enix already has some older Final Fantasy titles on the Nintendo Switch, remastered versions, such as Final Fantasy 9, 8 and 7. Also Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memories. The Nintendo Switch is also a popular platform and has outsold both Playstation and XBOX.

In order for a game to be really successful, it has to reach many people on as many platforms as possible. The more niche the game is, the more platforms it needs to be on to sell enough copies.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a game that many people have been wanting to try not only because of its legendary name as a JRPG but also because of the aesthetics. With modern day Unreal Engine 4 graphics, the game looks more beautiful than ever and we finally get to play the game with voice actors. Although the original game for the PS One will be close to our hearts, seeing the characters with realistic human proportions is irresistible.

Now that the exclusivity has expired there is a high probability that Square Enix will convert its most popular baby to Nintendo Switch and the XBOX.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Xbox Release Date: When Is Ff7r Coming To Xbox

Final Fantasy VII Remake is only a timed PS4 exclusive, and marketing on the PS4 retail version of the game hints at when we could see it arrive on Xbox One and PC

  • 14:35, 13 APR 2020

Final Fantasy 7 Remake has proved hugely popular around the world, as the game dominates charts internationally .

Fans have been waiting for a release date since the game was first announced at E3 2015, and now five years later we finally have the game in our hands.

But PC and Xbox players have been wondering about when they’ll get chance to get their hands on the title, and when they’ll be able to experience the newly reimagined Midgar themselves.

Square Enix has been cautious about calling the game an ‘exclusive’ and new information on the physical version packaging of the game seems to suggest keen Xbox gamers will be able to get their hands on the title in 2021

Evidence Mounts For Final Fantasy 7 Remake Pc Port

The RPG was part of an alleged list of Epic Game Store titles, which is now partially confirmed

Andy Robinson

Its looking more likely that Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be released for PC, after an alleged list of upcoming Epic Game Store titles was partially confirmed.

Earlier this summer, site tracker EpicData tracker discovered references in the Epic Games Store database to two titles Alan Wake Remastered and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. This weekend a retail leak seemingly confirmed the former, seemingly adding credence to the database leak and Final Fantasy PC listing.

Alan Wake Remastered has been listed at retailer Rakuten Taiwan for release on PS4, PS5 and Xbox on October 5.

Final Fantasy 7 Remakes 12-month PlayStation exclusivity period was due to end in April 2021. However, this appeared to have been extended with the release of PS5s Intergrade version in June. No plans to bring the title to other platforms have been announced.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is a PS5 update of last years RPG featuring improved visuals, faster loading times, a Photo Mode and haptic feedback as well as the new Yuffie DLC story.

Last month Final Fantasy 16s producer said that Square Enix definitely wanted to share an update on the action RPG during TGS, but that it wasnt sure if it would be able to make the deadline.

If you were hoping, like us, that Final Fantasy VII Remake could be heading to Xbox now that the year long exclusivity deal with Sony is up, then prepare yourself. The upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, an upcoming extended version of the base game, has now also been confirmed to be exclusive to PlayStation 5 for at least six months.

A final trailer for the game has gone live, and many fans hoped we’d hear something about an Xbox launch in the near future. Unfortunately, the end of the trailer reveals it will be a PlayStation 5 Console Exclusive, with a disclaimer of it being tied to the system for at least six months.

Of course, this doesn’t completely confirm that an Xbox version is not coming. It could be entirely possible for the non-Intergrade version to make its way over. But it’s highly likely that this suggests we won’t be seeing Final Fantasy VII Remake on Xbox this year, as we expect Square Enix would more than likely bring the complete version over – if at all.

If we’re likely to hear anything, we expect it will be at E3. Square Enix has recently confirmed it will be in attendance, and the company appears to have a good relationship with Microsoft. Just recently we had the surprise drop of Dragon Quest Builders 2, so we do hope Final Fantasy VII Remake is in the pipeline – even if it isn’t for another six months.

Actually You Can Still Fight In Classic Mode

Square Enix has also explained that the remake features a combat mode styled to feel more like the classic turn-based system. It isn’t a one-for-one recreation, but lets the player choose abilities through a menu rather than being action-based.

, Square Enix explains that the classic mode lets the players leave the standard attacks on auto-pilot. “In standard modes, the ATB Gauge fills up by repeatedly attacking your enemy, but in Classic Mode this aspect of gameplay is handled automatically,” it says.

“The player does not need to do anything and the character fights automatically, charging up their ATB Gauge.” After the meter is charged, it sounds like it’s up to the player to choose abilities and spells from a menu similarly to how they would in the 1997 game.

Ff7 Remake’s Current Exclusivity

Interestingly enough, it seems Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been vaguely confirmed for other platforms since the beginning. At the end of the remake’s initial hype trailer, the final message was “Play It First On PlayStation 4.” Granted it’s the vaguest confirmation that the game’s not just coming to PS4, the statement did at least plant the seed that the game would come to other platforms later on. Subsequent trailers dropped the wording entirely, only showing the PS4 logo on the ending credits without any subtext. Games like the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remixes had a similar exclusivity deal with PlayStation, meaning those games didn’t come to Xbox One until February 2020.

Other games have had console exclusivity confirmed in later trailers before so this isn’t anything new, but the Final Fantasy 7 Remake never had a statement come out explicitly stating it was PS4-exclusive. When Square Enix unveiled the official box art for the game, a disclaimer was eventually added that stated the game would be a PlayStation exclusive. Under that exclusivity banner was fine print that stated the game was specifically a “Timed Exclusive” until March 3, 2021. Of course, with the game’s delay the exclusivity deal was bumped up to April 10, 2021, a year out from the final release date of the game.

Final Fantasy Vii Remake Intergrade Sets A New Standard For Console Generation Updates

Reviews for Insomniac Gamess recent magnum opus have been largely unequivocal: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is probably the best-looking game ever made. But after several hours with Square Enixs Intergrade upgrade on the PlayStation 5, Final Fantasy VII Remake belongs in the conversation.

In Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergade, which released June 10, the PlayStation 5 essentially received its own version of last years award-winning Final Fantasy VII Remake, a thorough reimagining of the 1997 role-playing game that made a meteoric impact on how video game stories are told. The clumsy title is a cheeky reference to the fact that the game isnt exactly an upgrade. But, in this rare instance of a major studio playing down expectations, Square Enix actually sells itself short.

Intergrade isnt quite a remake of a remake, but it still feels like a game not possible on older machines. It features new textures in the world, adding detail where there was little. Game tech analysts Digital Foundry already have a comprehensive breakdown of the upgrade, and its worth watching just to notice the back-to-back comparisons.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Coming to Xbox?

The same applies to the proposed Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC version. The expiring exclusivity deal would mean it could jump to PC as well. The PC even has a larger breadth of Final Fantasy games on it, too, showing a history of Square Enix putting the series on that platform. So, like the probable Xbox One port, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is most likely coming to PC as well. Its just up to Square Enix to announce it.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade might be coming to PC soon

By Iyane Agossah

As you already know, Square Enix published a new trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, coming worldwide in June 10, 2021 on PS5, and the game most notably contains Intermission, a brand new DLC with a playable Yuffie Kisaragi However, Sony now stated that FF7 Remake Intergrade is a temporary exclusive, so is it coming to PC and Xbox Series X?

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade Will Be A Ps5 Exclusive Until At Least December 10

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will be a PS5 exclusive for “at least six months.”

Sony briefly outlined the exclusivity window of the upcoming enhanced edition of the game in its new trailer, which notes that Intergrade will be “available on PS5 at least six months earlier than any other format.”

This might sound kind of confusing since Final Fantasy 7 Remake itself is currently only available on PlayStation platforms. However, the PS4 exclusivity on the base game technically expired last month, meaning Square Enix could bring it to other platforms any minute now. With Intergrade launching June 10, its timed exclusivity will run through “at least” December 10, 2021.

Square Enix has never actually revealed plans to bring Final Fantasy 7 Remake to other platforms, but it clearly didn’t sign up for timed PlayStation exclusivity for no reason. Likewise, Sony and Square Enix presumably wouldn’t have created two distinct exclusivity windows one for the base game and now one for Intergrade if the plan was to skip other platforms the first time around and eventually make Intergrade the cross-platform version.

Beyond graphical enhancements, Intergrade also packs in some new story content not seen in the base game. It will be a free upgrade to PS5 owners who already purchased the PS4 game, with the small caveat that physical copies can’t be upgraded on the all-digital PS5.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Xbox One Port Possibly Leaked

Target’s new weekly ad has something that might be interesting for Xbox fans: an image of Final Fantasy VII Remake on PlayStation 4, but with Xbox One listed as an available platform. It should be noted that this could just be an error on Target’s part. It’s equally possible, however, that the retailer might have jumped the gun ahead of an official announcement. Either way, this might be the greatest evidence yet that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be available on Microsoft platforms when Sony’s exclusivity ends. An image of the ad can be found below.

Over the last few months, there have been hints that Final Fantasy VII Remake could be headed to PC, as well. Back in January, a leaked demo provided a ton of information about the game prior to its official release. Dataminers discovered PC code inside the demo, as well as other hints that the game would release on additional platforms. Final Fantasy VII Remake seems to be a PlayStation exclusive up to one year after its release, so if a version of the game is coming to PC and Xbox One, it probably wouldn’t happen before April 10, 2021.

You Only Have A Few Days To Play The Most Influential Rpg Ever On Game Pass

Is Final Fantasy 7 Remake Coming To Xbox In 2021

This role-playing game is still relevant more than 20 years later.

Microsoft has done a tremendous job of keeping a robust Xbox Game Pass lineup in rotation, with hundreds of games, spanning nearly every genre.

While all first-party titles remain on the service no matter what, its third-party offerings tend to change, constantly keeping things fresh. This does mean that beloved fan-favorites likeGTA V become unavailable after a few months, encouraging subscribers to rush in and play before they leave the service.

One game that will be leaving Xbox Game Pass soon is often regarded as the single most influential role-playing game of all time, paving the way for future turn-based adventures going forward.

Weâre talking about Final Fantasy VII, of course, but not the remake. You can play a port of the original game on your Xbox right now via Game Pass, but youâll have to act fast.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Xbox Release Date

A sticker on the physical version of the PS4 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake suggests that the game will be arriving on other consoles from 4th October, 2021.

This likely means we can expect the game to come to PC and Xbox consoles by late 2021.

The language is vague, for sure, but considering we’ve seen Square Enix do the same timed platform exclusivity for Nier: Automata and Rise of the Tomb Raider, we imagine we’ll see something similar happen here.

We’ll update you when we learn more, or if Square Enix makes an official announcement.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake On Xbox Delayed Until After April 2021

The delay for Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS4 means that the exclusivity deal for other formats has also been pushed back by a month.

The politics surrounding console exclusives is clearly going to be one of the most important issues of the next generation, with Microsoft saying it wont have any on Xbox Series X for at least a year, while also insisting that Sony is out of position in terms of cloud technology.

But ignoring the question of how important they are, Sony currently has far more big-name exclusives to its name, both those it makes itself and timed deals for third party games like the one-year deal with Square Enix for Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

The game is currently only scheduled for the PlayStation 4 but its release date was recently put back until 10 April, which means its exclusivity period has also been extended as noticed in the small print by Siliconera.

That does make sense Sony are paying for a years exclusivity from when it actually comes out, not from when it was supposed to but it does mean theres no possibility of an Xbox version until April 2021.

But while you can probably expect a PC version very soon after that theres no guarantee that there will be an Xbox version at all.

And will there be a PlayStation 5 specific version or just a patch to improve the graphics, if the original is backwards compatible?
