Xbox One Cannot Properly Read Discs
While it isnt as disturbing as hearing a disc grinding in your console, an Xbox One that doesnt read discs is not ideal, especially if your library primarily consists of physical games. Some users have reported consoles that fail to read certain games, or even have a widespread problem with reading all discs.
Luckily, isolated disc errors arent always brought on by damaged discs, and if your disc drive is having issues reading your games, it doesnt necessarily mean your console is shot. If neither of the solutions below work, however, you may need to call Microsoft or take the disc in question back to your retailer if its under warranty.
Possible solutions:
Kinect Doesnt Pair With Console
Microsoft has discontinued the Kinect for Xbox One, as well as the adapter that allowed Xbox One S and Xbox One X users to plug it into their new machines. However, its still technically supported by the console, and legacy users can encounter problems with the peripheral not being recognized properly by the system.
Possible solutions:
Microsoft has confirmed to several customers that the issue is with the Kinect, and not the Xbox One itself. If that is the case, it at least means you may not have to ship your entire console in, but replacement Kinect sensors are getting quite expensive on the reseller market.
- It should go without saying, but make sure the Kinect is physically connected to the Xbox One. Assuming it is, make sure the connection is free of any obvious damage.
- Try cycling your system. Turn off the Xbox One by holding the power cord for five seconds, unplug the AC cord and the Kinect cord, then wait 30 seconds. Plug everything in and try again.
- Contact Microsoft directly and arrange for a replacement Kinect.

Check if your internet is down. If your Xbox One can’t access certain online functions or is having difficulty logging in, the most likely culprit is a bad connection. Check to see if another device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer, is also having trouble connecting to the same network as your Xbox. If it is, then you know the problem is not with your Xbox.
If your Internet is offline, try rebooting your router and modem.
Check if the Xbox network is down. You can check the current status of every aspect of the Xbox network on the official Xbox Status page. If the Xbox network is down, there’s nothing you can do but wait for it to go back online, which may take up to a few hours.
Check if the game’s servers are down. If you’re able to sign in to your Xbox One but unable to start a multiplayer match in a specific video game, it’s likely that the game’s servers have gone down. This may be due to a network error or routine maintenance.
Check the status of a game’s online servers by checking the official video game’s Twitter account. These usually update ASAP to let players know what’s going on.
Most Xbox One video games require an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to play online multiplayer modes. If you’re unable to play games online and you’re not an Xbox Live Gold subscriber, this is likely the reason.

Xbox One
I’ve had years of good integration with this app on Xbox, but as of this morning it has logged me out and will not connect back to my spotify account either through wireless, pairing, or login and password. I’ve tried hard console reset, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the spotify app.
Thank you for reaching out about this here in the Community.
What you’ve mentioned was reported here and should be fixed now. Could you give it another try and let us know how it goes?

I have had the spotify app for my Xbox one for many months and it has worked alright for the most part but today it has completely stopped working. I checked the status of spotify and it had some issues so I waited till it was cleared up. When it was cleared it it completely signed me out on my Xbox which I thought was no big deal but now when I sign in I can play on song that had been playing on my Alexa or iPhone before it stops. I can not skip forward, back, turn on shuffle, but I can like and dislike songs. Thats it there is no way to interact with the app after a song has started. I cant change the song or the album. When I try to connect through my phone it says connecting and never connects. I can listen on my phone and have the one song playing on my Xbox. I am at a loss I have uninstalled spotify on my Xbox and phone hard reset both of them but nothing has changed.
