Xbox One Wont Power On
Another issue being reported by users is that the system wont power on, or if it does, it is for a limited time only and then quickly shuts off. This could be the console itself, but it is more likely the power brick. It could also be the internal power supply.
The first step is always to simply check to make sure everything is connected properly. Once that is done, the next step is to verify that your power brick is working properly. All Xbox One power bricks have a light on them to signify they are receiving electrical current. If you see a solid white or solid orange light, the power supply is working properly. If there is no light or it flickers, it needs to be replaced. Before you contact Microsoft though, try these quick fixes.

My Xbox One S Keeps Freezing And Crashing Now It Wont Turn On
To briefly summarize my issues, this started with me not being able to play certain games without crashing or freezing mid match. Usually I would hard reset it, and it would maybe go away for a few days. Now, its been consistently happening every day, and its been so bad that it freezes while Im in the Xbox dashboard. So, I tried to factory reset it yesterday, at the expense of my installed games, because the other reset option that keeps your games wasnt working. Now, my Xbox has been freezing mid factory reset and stops at 50%. So, I figured Id try offline updating with OSU1 and a USB. That doesnt work either, Ive been getting consistent error messages, and my Xbox just gets stuck on a black screen when I reboot. Im pretty much defeated at this point, because Ive had this Xbox for a year and I didnt buy extended warranty, because I try care of my products, my last Xbox lasted six years. I just want to know if anyone knows how to fix this before I have to consider buying a new console, or send this one in for repair. Ive been looking through all kinds of tutorials with issues like the green or black screen of death and I cant find a fix that actually works for my console. Tons of people on YouTube have apparently had similar issues to this, but I dont know anyone who knows how to fix this. Any help is appreciated, please and thank you for reading this.

Fortnite Crashing: Xbox 2020
Many Xbox gamers have reported that Fornite often crashes in 2020. That can come down to a number of things. Take into consideration that this could be a software issue, a server issue or a problem linked to background processes.
- If its a software issue: Ensure that the Xbox OS is running on the latest version. Install any pending updates on the system. Also check that Fortnite is the latest available version, too.
- The server could be down: If you suspect that the server could be down, try checking Xbox Support here. If this is the case, then, thankfully, the issue is not on your end. Wait until the server shows as operating normally and then you should be able to resume gaming in peace.
- Take a look at the Xboxs background processes. By this, we mean other apps running in the background while you play Fortnite. Its best to quit all other apps when playing another game. To close other apps click the menu button > Quit.

Disc Drive Makes Grinding Sound
This problem is something that a number of Xbox One users have reported, but thankfully, they also report that it doesnt actually damage the disc. When you put a disc in the consoles optical drive, it makes a grinding sound. An error message then reads, Sorry we cant play that disc. Try an Xbox One game, music CD, or a movie on a Blu-ray or DVD. Thankfully, the issue is only present on the original Xbox One.
Microsoft has addressed this particular issue multiple times and confirmed that owners can return the hardware. You can always try to repair it yourself if you are familiar with optical drives, but youll void your warranty in the process. If you are suffering from this problem, your options are limited.
- Return the hardware to where you purchased it. Microsoft addressed this problem with launch units by giving out free games to those affected. It doesnt appear that the promotion is still active, but if youre hearing grinding in the disk drive, you can still probably return your console. If buying secondhand, always make sure to check the disc drive.
- Contact Microsoft directly using one of the contact methods above. The companys support team is arranging replacements, and in some cases will ship a new console with a game of your choice to you before you send your system in.
