Which Sold More: The Xbox One Or Ps4
It is a timeless debate: what console is superior? The Xbox or the PlayStation? Gamers have been arguing since the release of Microsoft’s Xbox, back in November 2001. It cannot be denied the Xbox changed how companies approached home consoles. The use of PC technology really helped mold the gaming landscape.
The PlayStation quickly became a staple in the gaming industry. Sony released its first major console with so many exclusive titles. Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and Ape Escape all became fan favorite games. The PlayStation was known for its prized titles, but Sony quickly adapted its hardware to match Microsoft’s Xbox.
Both companies and systems went through multiple evolutions. The Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 were built with some of the highest quality hardware that the gaming industry has ever seen. Microsoft and Sony both continuously tried to outdo one another. The companies released enhanced and updated versions of their consoles on more than one occasion.
In the beginning, it seemed PlayStation would always be destined to chase after the Xbox and its superior hardware. How does that compare to today?
Ps4 Vs Xbox One: The Conclusion
If we’re being totally fair, the Xbox One and the PS4 are both thrilling consoles that deserves your time and energy. That said, it’s hard to deny that the PS4 has a library that is simply unmatched by the Xbox One, including massive hits like God of War and The Last of Us Remastered, games that shook the gaming world to the point that they are still talked about today.
PlayStation VR, another feature from Sony, is also huge and is slowly, but surely, earning more than its fair share of audience at a rate that the Xbox One seems to be struggling behind in.
Th,is, of course, does not make the Xbox One a bad console. It’s got cheaper deals, backwards compatibility and it has support from accessories like Alexa, but unfortunately the PS4 still manages to pull ahead.

Xbox: Had 2x Memory & Processing Power
Of the sixth-generation consoles, the Xbox was unequivocally the most powerful. It had an internal hard drive instead of memory cards with 8 – 10 GB of memory. Not only did this reduce load times for games, but it also allowed for custom game soundtracks to be played too.
The custom 733 Mhz Intel processor was actually capable of displaying up to 1080i. The system also used an Nvidia GeForce 3-based NV2A GPU, as well. Microsoft also got Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to talk up the console’s processing prowess, so…there’s that.

Playstation 5 Feels Like A Must
As media players, the PS5 and Xbox Series X both offer a robust set of features, but the Xbox’s adoption of Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound formats make it slightly more appealing as a streaming device. Xbox also offers movies and TV shows for sale via the Microsoft Store, while the PlayStation Store discontinued movie purchases in August 2021.
While the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are similar in terms of quality and performance, the PS5’s exclusive games and gameplay-focused features make it more enticing for buyers who want an immersive experience and don’t want to miss major releases.
Xbox Series X succeeds as a powerful media center with access to more than 15 years worth of Xbox games, but the ability to also play the newest Xbox titles on PC and Xbox One make the Series X less of a must-have machine.
Ultimately, if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on the PS5 or Xbox Series X amid the ongoing supply shortage you won’t be disappointed both systems offer awesome exclusives and an impressive upgrade over the last generation of consoles.

Which Should You Buy: Xbox One Or Playstation 4 Yes

Early this morning, the Xbox One hit store shelves. With Sony’s PlayStation 4 having launched on the 15th, that means both of the new game consoles are now available. Which should you buy?
I’m assuming for purposes of this argument that you’re not the kind of insane gamer who has spent the last six months drooling over game trailers on YouTube, making sure their pre-order is going to be fulfilled on day one, and posting furious messages to internet forums defending the console of their choice. Once everybody’s done lining up in the cold and sleeping in tents outside a Best Buy to make sure they have their new toy in hand, that’s when it’s time for everyone else to make their decisions.
Xbox One, PlayStation 4. They sure do look the same! A couple of big black rectangles. And it’s important to remember that for the most part, they’ll play the exact same games. The idea of the platform exclusive has all but gone extinct as games have become significantly more expensive to create. Unless Microsoft and Sony are going out and paying big bucks to keep a game off the other guy’s platform, publishers are going to get their games into as many channels as possible. So if you mostly play games like Assassin’s Creed, Madden or Call of Duty, the software libraries aren’t going to be the deciding factor for you.
Xbox One S Vs Ps: Controllers
In our opinion, the Xbox 360 controller was the best of its generation, and Microsoft managed to make a number of improvements on its Xbox One equivalent.
The headline feature has to be refined vibration control, with extra rumble motors for the left and right triggers providing fingertip feedback linked to in-game actions, such as pulling a trigger or squeezing the accelerator. It really works and gives you useful feedback rather than just fairground-esque effects.
The rest of the controller is great, especially the improved D-pad, although the redesigned shoulder buttons and slightly smaller analogue sticks aren’t to everyone’s taste.
The PS4 controller, DualShock 4, has certainly come on in leaps and bounds from its predecessor. It’s more comfortable to hold, the sticks are much improved with greater resistance and precision, plus the triggers feel more responsive than the spongy messes on the DualShock 3.
The stand out feature on the PS4 pad is the small touchpad. This allows for touch controls in games, swipes and the like, plus easier navigation when using a cursor . The whole pad also acts like a button and can be clicked in four different directions. A light bar on the back lets the PS4 camera detect multiple controllers too.
Winner Xbox One S
It’s partly down to what you’re used to, but the Xbox One controller has the edge for us with a proven design and those new rumble motors.

Playstation 5 Digital Edition
The PlayStation 5 is here in two variants, and this more affordable Digital Edition could work nicely for a lot of people. It has all the same power and storage of the standard PS5 but simply loses the disk drive.
That makes for a chunky saving on the cost upfront, and if you’re happy to buy your games digitally it could be perfect, especially since it makes the console a little smaller, too. However, that lack of disks could be an issue for some people, so consider your approach!
Ps: Better Quality Dvd Playback
This generation really marked the transition from strictly game consoles to entertainment centers. On top of offering an extensive library of games, the PS2 could also play all of a person’s favorite DVDs. This alleviated the added cost of DVD players for some families, as well, since the PS2 could serve a dual function.
In contrast, the Xbox had DVD playback capabilities natively but did not allow it at launch. Users needed to buy a separate “DVD Movie Playback Kit” to unlock the feature.

What Type Of Games Do Your Kids Like To Play
If Im being honest, Xbox and Playstation dont differ too much in this section. They both have access to similar games and the only thing thats super different is their exclusive titles list. Heres the Playstation 4 list of exclusive games like Ratchet and Clank, Journey, and The Last Guardian. And heres the list of exclusive games only for Xbox One .
Should I Get An Xbox One Or Playstation 4
At this point, the argument between whether PlayStation or Xbox is better is two decades old. Here, at the end of this console generation, we can look back and judge what the PS4 and Xbox Ones strengths and weaknesses are, but to a certain degree, it comes down to personal preference.
- Until Dawn
- Yakuza series
Xbox, on the other hand, has had a lackluster exclusive lineup this generation. Halo only received one title for the Xbox One, and besides Gears of War and Forza, there arent many unique titles for Microsofts console to get excited for.

Playstation 4 Pro Vs Xbox One X
Choosing a legacy console is becoming less profitable every month as game developers switch to new consoles. But its still a good option if you want to evaluate the games of recent years without spending a lot of money.
The previous generation models were also produced in several versions, the most powerful of which were the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. Talking about earlier versions of consoles is not worth it: they are completely outdated and rarely found on sale.
Despite their high performance, both set-top boxes are significantly inferior to devices of the new generation both in terms of speed and quality of graphics. Ray tracing is not supported, games load much slower. Therefore, gamers who value maximum detail and visuals should only choose from the latest models.
If the choice is limited to older versions, then we must admit: Xbox One X is slightly more powerful than PS 4 Pro 6 teraflops versus 4.2. This affects the quality of the picture, but not in every game it all depends on the specific project.
In some places, the difference between the two consoles is almost imperceptible. Both consoles support 4K resolution, but in the case of the PS4, this is more of a gimmick. In fact, the device stretches the picture in 1440p resolution to the desired 4K.
Each console has other features as well:

As for gamepads, it all depends on the user you should try both options and choose the best one.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Outside Of Gaming
So you’ve got the techs, the specs, and the games. But, what can these consoles offer you if you’re not bothered about anything to do with that, and are just purchasing the console as a gift? Well, that’s where it gets interesting.
Both the Xbox One and PS4 have a pretty solid foundation for those who want to use the console outside of gaming. However, the Xbox One does have more options. For example, while both are able to play Blu-ray DVDs with no trouble as long as they are from the correct region, though it is only the Xbox One that supports Dolby Atmos and 4K Blu-rays.
The Xbox One also makes it easier to switch over between watching TV and playing video games. The PS4 does ‘okay’, but with the Xbox One you’re able to transmit your cable box’s TV signal without having to go out of your way to plug out your HDMI cable, insert it into your cable box, etc.
That said, Xbox One and PS4 both have a number of different media apps, giving you more than enough options from big, major media giants like Netflix, NOW TV and Hulu, to stuff like Crunchyroll and Animax.
Furthermore, both consoles allow you to play your own media, including music, from your USB. Of course, it is advised that you label your files correctly and put them in folders, but apart from that, all media files can be played through the selected console’s media app. And just like Spotify and apps like it, you’re able to listen to your songs whilst doing something entirely different with your console.
Xbox Is About To Leave Playstation Behind In 2022
Microsoft has made huge strides toward winning back gamers and welcoming in newcomers to the hobbya radical about face compared to the team leading Xbox when the Xbox One launched in 2013.
The driving force behind the rise of Xbox isnt the new Xbox Series X console, or its baby brother, the Xbox Series S. Instead, its the one-two punch of Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
While Sony still has the most desirable exclusivesprimarily because you can only play them on PS4 or PS5, though increasingly theyre releasing later on PC as wellthe Japanese game maker has nothing comparable to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Xbox is changing how we think about console gaming.
The closest thing Sony has to this is PlayStation Now, but its nowhere near as full-featured as Game Pass, which has better games, the ability to download games, and includes every single Xbox exclusive on day oneacross consoles and PC.
With Xbox Cloud Gaming, you cans stream these games to your mobile devices. In fact, with just a gamepad, a smart-phone and and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you can play countless Xbox titles without even owning an Xbox.
More accessible, more affordable and every bit as powerful, the Xbox platform is leaving PlayStation in the dusteven if the PlayStation 5 will almost certainly sell more units than the Xbox Series X. In a lot of ways, for Microsoft at least, thats beside the point.
