Which One Is Better Xbox One Or Ps4

Don't Miss

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller

PS4 Pro vs XBox One S: Which One is Better?

In June 2015 Microsoft announced the release of their Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, priced at $149 and with availability starting in October 2015. The new controller adds swappable parts that allow gamers to personalize it to fit their needs, preferences and playing style. The new parts include 4 bumper pads , hair-trigger locks for more precise control and faster firing in FPS games, and a textured rolling pad to replace the standard D-pad.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Games

Both the PS4 and Xbox One now have substantial games libraries. The PS4 has just over 2,000, of which over 299 are PS4 exclusives, while the Xbox One has about nearly 2,000 games with less half the number of exclusives the PS4 has.

The Halo and Gears of War series stand above all others on Xbox One if you’re into shooter games, while Cuphead features some fantastic, colorful boss battle action and Sea of Thieves offers a high-seas multiplayer experience like no other. Halo: The Master Chief Collection lets us relive all the old classics, although the experience was somewhat spoiled by a number of technical problems that have never been fully solved.

But, its with its exclusive racing games that the Xbox One really excels, with the Forza Motorsport and Horizon titles being excellent entries in the series.

The Xbox platform also stands apart thanks to Xbox Game Pass. This subscription service gives players access to a rotating list of more than 100 games for a monthly fee and first-party Xbox games come to it on release day. One Xbox One game on the horizon that will arrive on the service is Halo Infinite, which is sure to be one of the best games on the Xbox One.

Microsoft’s number of exclusives pales compared to Sony, though the former is clearly making a concerted effort to amend this with the creation of five new gaming studios and numerous acquisitions, including Bethesda.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: The Specs

While you may not really care about the specs of your consoles, there are some big differences between the Xbox One and the PS4 that you’ll need to know about. For example, unlike the PS4, the Xbox One does not support upgrading the internal memory inside the console the external hard drive however is fair game. This might be a deal breaker to some, but not quite for others.

Again, to make things much more simpler to process, we’ve created a table for you to see the differences between all four consoles for yourself.

Xbox One backwards compatibility is on One X. The service currently has more than 300 titles, which is nothing to sniff at.

There will be no One X-exclusive titles with the exception of experiences that support certain virtual reality peripherals support for which still remains unconfirmed.

Like UHD Blu-rays? Xbox One X will support em, along with Dolby Atmos. PS4 Pro only supports HD Blu-rays and theres no Dolby Atmos support. But both consoles will support the HDR 10 standard on both.

Playstation 4 Vs Xbox One

Clash of the Titans : X

The PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One video game consoles offer significant improvements over and break compatibility with the previous generation consoles in their respective families: the PS3 and Xbox 360, each of which sold over 100 million units. Both the PS4 and Xbox One offer souped-up graphics processors, more memory than previous systems, redesigned controllers, and all-in-one access to apps like , Hulu, and NFL Network, among others.

This comparison of the two leading consoles in the market examines their hardware specs and performance, price, gameplay, and rules governing the purchase and play of online games.

Both consoles are priced similarly a $399 Xbox One console without the Kinect is priced to match the PS4. When Microsoft first released the Xbox One, it was priced at $499 and the Kinect was bundled in, offering a camera and motion sensing capabilities.

Xbox One Vs Ps: Bottom Line

It may seem odd to come to a conclusion on the best last-generation console, but as these machines are still getting games made for them, they are far from irrelevant. Ultimately, the PS4 is the overall winner, all down to its larger selection of exclusive games.

However, you can’t go wrong with an Xbox One S, especially when combined with the the frankly absurd bargain that Xbox Game Pass offers.

In basic terms, if you don’t have an PS4 and have an Xbox One, then it’s still worth snapping up Sony’s last-gen console, especially if you can find it at a bargain price, And the same applies in reverse. There is a overall winner here, but it’s basically you, the console gamer.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: The Controllers

When youre comparing controllers between the PS4 and Xbox One, you should consider size, comfort, and battery life but, even beyond these aspects, personal preference is going to go a long way.

The good news is that both conform to your hands better versus the less ergonomic Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

Microsoft, even further from just improving on the Xbox 360 controller for the Xbox Ones basic controller, released the Xbox Elite Wireless controller back in 2015. This gamepad, directed towards pro gamers, includes four back pedals, two settings for the left and right shoulder buttons, swappable analog sticks and a new and improved D-pad. All of these amazing features come at a premium though, costing $149 or £119.

There’s also a newer version of the pro gamepad available with the Xbox Elite Wireless Series 2 controller, which improves greatly on its predecessor but will cost you £159 or $179.

Sony’s DualShock 4 also improves on the previous generation. The handles of the PS4 controller are a lot easier to grip and are more comfortable when playing for extended periods. Plus, the analog sticks now have a nice divot, making precise movements a lot easier.

With the newer DualShock 4 that’s come out alongside the slimline PS4, the controller has seen a further improvement with the addition of a wired connectivity mode, which eliminates the input lag associated with Bluetooth connections.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Connectivity

However, due to the tragic downfall of Kinect, if you want to use a Kinect with either version of the Xbox One, youll have to go out and get an adapter.

The PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim have similar inputs, although they are slightly different. Each has a single HDMI out, a single USB port in the back , an Ethernet port, and power. The only difference between the Pro and the Slim is that the Pro has an Optical Audio out, while the Slim drops it. One of the most compelling things about PS4 connectivity, however, is that both versions allow users to swap out the internal hard drive with another one of their choice.

All versions of both the Xbox One and PS4 support 802.11 ac Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet so no matter which console you pick to decide on, you wont have to worry about network compatibility.

PS4 and Xbox One are devoid of remarkable characteristics on the front. There’s a Blu-ray/DVD combo drive to the left and their respective, muted-color logos to the right. PS4 has a pair of USB ports tucked between its sandwich-like halves, next to where the disc drive is located.

One thing the Xbox One pulls ahead with is smart home integration. 2018 saw Microsoft announce support for Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant, meaning your Xbox One can communicate with Amazon’s line of Echo smart speakers or other Alexa-enabled devices which might be a practical alternative to using voice commands through the now defunct Kinect.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Virtual Reality Compatibility

If your console purchase decision rests heavily on which is best for virtual reality games, well outright tell you now that PS4 is the way to go. This is simple because PlayStation 4 is currently the only home console platform that currently offers it, having released its own bespoke VR tech through the PlayStation VR headset. Xbox has toyed with augmented and virtual reality numerous times, but nothing solid has ever reached the consumer market let alone a form of VR thats compatible with Xbox One.

PlayStation 4, on the other hand, has firmly laid a claim to the VR crown with PlayStation VR. All you need to get started is a console, camera and then the headset itself, before you can jump into great fully immersive games like Blood & Truth, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission and Skyrim VR. Numerous accessories are also on hand to heighten your experience in VR, such as the PlayStation move controllers which work wonders for hand tracking.

Winner: PS4

Ps4 Pro Vs Xbox One X Processor

Xbox One X: 8-core, 2.3GHz processor

PS4 Pro: 8-core, 2.13GHz processor

PS4 Pro is using an improved version of the original models chip with a slightly boosted clock speed. The Pro now runs at an impressive 2.13GHz, while the vanilla console lags behind at 1.6.

The One X meanwhile, has stolen a bit of a march on the Pro and has a slightly faster processor, but the real meat comparison lies in the graphics comparison.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: The Conclusion

If we’re being totally fair, the Xbox One and the PS4 are both thrilling consoles that deserves your time and energy. That said, it’s hard to deny that the PS4 has a library that is simply unmatched by the Xbox One, including massive hits like God of War and The Last of Us Remastered, games that shook the gaming world to the point that they are still talked about today.

PlayStation VR, another feature from Sony, is also huge and is slowly, but surely, earning more than its fair share of audience at a rate that the Xbox One seems to be struggling behind in.

Th,is, of course, does not make the Xbox One a bad console. It’s got cheaper deals, backwards compatibility and it has support from accessories like Alexa, but unfortunately the PS4 still manages to pull ahead.

Xbox One Vs Ps: Entertainment

For sheer options, Xbox One is the superior entertainment machine. The system has the unique ability to transmit your cable box’s TV signal, allowing you to quickly switch between playing a game and watching a show. The Xbox One S, Xbox One X and PS4 Pro can all stream 4K content, but only Microsoft’s consoles can play 4K Blu-rays. However, the new Xbox One S All-Digital Edition has no disc drive at all, and is limited to 4K streaming.

Unlike PS4, Xbox One supports Dolby Atmos, allowing folks with compatible home theater products to enjoy immersive spatial sound, and will soon support Dolby Vision for improved HDR quality.

The Xbox One is also the only console that features Kodi, a highly popular media server app that lets you access any movies, TV shows, images or songs you have stored on any of your devices around the house.

Other than that, both PS4 and Xbox One cover most entertainment essentials, from major apps like Netflix and Hulu to more niche stuff like WWE Network and Crunchyroll. PS4 and Xbox One both offer Spotify, which lets you rock out to tunes in the background of whatever you’re playing. Xbox One features a few other notable music services such as SoundCloud, Pandora and Deezer.

Winner: Xbox One. The Xbox One offers a 4K Blu-ray option, better media apps and Dolby Atmos support.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Price Difference

On release, the PS4 price was the more tempting deal: $399 for the console and DualShock 4 controller. The Xbox One was relatively expensive, at $499 for the system, Xbox One controller, and Kinect.

But now, after several price drops from both consoles , the two consoles are much more evenly matched.

Typically we’ll see the PS4 priced at around $299/£249 and the Xbox One S at around £149/£199.

In the most recent Black Friday sales, we seen the Xbox One S All-Digital hovering around the $100/£100 mark while the PS4 remained around $100 more expensive at $199. However, these prices are often in flux and, with the next-gen consoles releasing in late 2020, we expect to see Xbox One bundles and PS4 bundles dropping considerably over the next year.

In terms of the more powerful PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X, the Xbox One X is more expensive, with an RRP of $499 rather than the PS4 Pro’s $399.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Price

At the time of writing, PS4 is outselling the Xbox One by quite a margin. However, this works in favour of anyone thinking about picking up the latter, as to compensate for this disparity in sales numbers the Xbox One S is much more affordable compared to the PS4 Slim. The RRP of an Xbox One S currently sits at around the £199.99, while a standard PS4 Slim is roughly £50 more than that. Its not a huge difference in the grander scheme of things but might be enough to sway you to one or the other.

Of course, the price of both can be offset somewhat by picking one up during a sale or as part of a bundle. The more games included in the latter helps to improve the value the conversation then becomes more about which platform has the best games that interest you, which brings us neatly onto the next section of the PS4 vs Xbox One comparison.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Indie Games

Our most-wanted PS4 games list doesn’t end there, because Sony got out in front of supporting independent game developers.

Meanwhile, the Xbox One has also seen some excellent smaller games, including Ori and the Blind Forest.

Xbox Game Pass has also given these indie gems a much bigger platform that allows players to try out titles they maybe wouldn’t have otherwise.

Indie games have exploded on each console over the last few years, thanks to both Sony and Microsoft enacting policies and releasing tools that all but eliminates the barrier to entry of developing for each system.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Cameras

Back when the PS4 and the Xbox One launched, their respective cameras were hailed as being one of the most important aspects of the machines. However, in the years that followed, both Microsoft’s Kinect and Sony’s PS4 Camera have fallen out of favor and popularity.

The latter has gained a new lease on life as an essential part of the PlayStation VR ecosystem, but outside of this remains almost entirely unused.

That’s a shame because, at one point, the new Kinect technology looked very promising, tracking up to six skeletons at once and processing 2GB of data per second. It could even pick up heart rates, facial expressions and 25 joints, thumbs included.

The camera’s 60% wider field of vision compared to the Xbox 360 Kinect remedied the annoying “stand 6 feet away” error messages we experienced last time around.

Xbox One Kinect was certainly powerful, it just needed more games. Right now, there are few reasons to keep the 1080p camera plugged in, especially since the whole platform has been shuttered.

The PlayStation camera doesn’t have as much to offer at this point either, but it’s hard to find in stock. Formerly called the PlayStation Eye, it features two 1,280 x 800-pixel cameras in a body that’s slimmer than the Kinect.

The included robot mini-game The Playroom has been updated since the console launch, but little else besides the Just Dance series requires the device.
