Xbox Series X restock is incredibly difficult to pin down. Despite our best efforts to bring you timely updates, Tom’s Guide can’t guarantee you’ll be able to purchase an Xbox. Nevertheless, we are committed to bringing you up-to-the-minute information on all restocks as soon as they happen.
Things remain quiet on the Xbox Series X restock front. The last restock came via the Microsoft Store late last week. Even standalone Xbox Series S consoles are sold out at the moment.
As it stands, we don’t have any information on when the next Xbox Series X restock will take place. So while we wait for news and hints, we suggest you check the retailers listed below. Do make sure to bookmark and regularly refresh this page, as that should put you in a good position to secure fresh Xbox Series X stock when it arrives.
Xbox Series S Price: Cheaper Digital Edition
Rumours circled for months that Microsoft was working on a cheaper Xbox to launch alongside the Series X. Sure enough, the Xbox Series S is a digital-only version of its next-gen console in order to lower the barrier to entry.
It costs £249.99 . That’s just over half the price of the full-fat Xbox Series X and could be a very tempting price for UK gamers.
Gamers in 12 countries, including the US, UK and Australia, also have the option to pre-order the Series S and pay in instalments. Microsoft’s Xbox All Access service gets you Series S console plus Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold in return for £20.99 per month over a 24 month period.
The main difference between the Xbox Series X and Series S is that the latter doesn’t have a disc drive. Another big difference is that while both consoles support high frame rates of up to 120fps, the Xbox Series X offers native 4K gaming, while the Series S is geared more towards 1440p. If you want to make the most of your 4K TV, the Series X would be the obvious choice, but those with gaming monitors might be perfectly well served by the Series S.
The Series S isn’t as powerful, though. Both consoles have the same Zen 2-based CPU but the Xbox Series X runs at 3.8Hz, while the Series S runs at 3.4Hz. And where the Xbox Series S has 10GB of GDDR6 memory running at 224Gbps, the Series X offers 16GB of GDDR6.

It’s all gone very quiet on the Xbox Series X restock front. The console has once again become the harder of the two in-demand next-gen machines to buy. Hopefully, this week sees multiple restocks to make up for the lack of drops over the last month, but if you desperately want a console right now there is in fact a way to get hold of one immediately.

Meanwhile, Target announced a huge change to how it handles Xbox Series X restocks. No longer will it be waiting to drop stock in batches as it does with PS5 restock, instead Xbox Series X consoles will be available to buy when stores receive stock.
This essentially means that Target will no longer have nationwide stock drops, and instead, the console will just be available when each individual location receives inventory. We saw this new system come into effect last month when several Target stores offered the Xbox Series X for sale.

It’s always the same: They log on the moment consoles become available at a major retailer like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop or Target, and then the entire stock sells out within seconds and they’re left empty-handed. Demand for the Xbox Series X continues to outpace supply, partially due to the due to the pandemic, which has lots of people looking for entertainment options they can enjoy at home. This is also one of the reasons the PS5 was recently named the fastest-selling console in US history.
But don’t give up just yet! You see, in recent weeks, we’ve been seeing more frequent inventory drops at major retailers. And the fact that retailers are announcing Series X and Series S restocks at all means that your chances of snagging a new console are getting better. The $500 Xbox Series X is the game console of choice for its 4K video and 120Hz refresh rates, but if you don’t have a 4K TV, the all-digital Xbox Series S is an excellent system and costs a much more reasonable $300.

Since the Christmas rush, the supply of Xbox series X consoles has slowed to a trickle, but its at least a consistent trickle. New stock has been sporadic throughout April and May, with fresh batches of consoles usually selling out in less than five minutes. Some retailers, most notably Game, have had more restocks than others.
Knowing which retailers to check first to can help you grab one when they do appear, so weve compiled a shortlist of the most likely places you can buy an Xbox series X.
Game Game has been increasing the frequency of its Xbox restocks lately. The retailer had the Halo Infinite limited edition Xbox series X available for pre-order on 25 August, and last restocked the standard console on 13 August. Game is one of three to sell the Xbox All Access programme.
The retailer last restocked the Xbox series X on 29 July, though supply was so limited the console was only on sale for around two minutes. Whereas Amazon restricts sales of Sonys next-generation console to Prime customers, the Xbox gets no such protection. As such its exposed to automated bots and unscrupulous resellers and sells out in the blink of an eye.

Option : Consider Buying Console Bundles Or Use Xbox All Access
The standalone versions of Xbox Series X and S consoles might be hard to find, but it’s also worth checking out retailers that might be offering bundles with games and controllers included. One of these is the Halo Infinite bundle.
Other than bundles, you might want to consider buying an Xbox Series X or S through Microsoft’s Xbox All Access Program. More than a year and over 13 million sales later, Sonys Playstation 5 is still an extremely hot piece of tech. To attempt to meet that demand, Walmart is gearing up for a restock.
In its Black Friday ad, Walmart says it is restocking the PS5 and Xbox Series X during Black Friday week, and the consoles will be available online only beginning at 7 p.m. EST on November 22. The consoles will be sold for their regular retail prices of $499 each while supplies last.
However, members of Walmart+ a subscription service that costs $12.95 a month or $98 per year get access to Walmarts Black Friday deals four hours before everyone else. According to Walmarts Black Friday ad, Walmart Plus members get first dibs, every Black Friday deal included.
Physical Walmart stores may also have limited availability of these consoles, as well as the Xbox Series S , when sales go live on Black Friday itself. Its best to check with your local retailer to confirm ahead of time.

How Much Is The Xbox Series X
The Xbox series X costs £449. Theres also the Xbox All Access programme, where you pay nothing up front and get an Xbox series X console and 24 months of Game Pass Ultimate for £28.99 per month. At the end of the 24 month term, you keep the console.
The all-digital Xbox series S console costs £249 and is more often in stock than the more powerful Xbox series X. The Xbox series S is also available through the Xbox All Access programme for £20.99 per month.
Bundles have been spotted, but theyre unofficial and compiled by retailers to get rid of old stock and put off scalpers. Online retailer Very bundled the console with an extra controller when it had stock of the console. Currys PC World sells the console with three months of Game Pass for £479.
With the base consoles in such limited supply, dont expect to see great deals on bundles anytime soon.

Xbox Series X And Series S Pre
Both the Series X and S sold out before hitting the shelves. More stock arrived on launch day 10th November 2020 and promptly sold out. Since then, we’ve seen plenty of retailers restock the Series S but the Series X has been incredibly hard to come by.
To solve the problem, Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently told the ‘Major Nelson’ podcast that he’s asked chipmaker AMD to speed up production: “I was on the phone last week with Lisa Su at AMD , how do we get more? So its something that were constantly working on.”
If Microsoft can get its hands on more chips, it could potentially churn out more Xbox Series X and S consoles. The play seems to be paying off as more Xbox stock is now hitting shelves on both sides of the pond.
In the UK, Currys is due Xbox Series X stock on 23rd January. GAME released a big batch of Xbox Series X and Series S consoles in mid-January. They’ve now sold but Game is tipped to get Series S stock on 31st January. The BT Shop also announced it would have inventory of the Series S, but that allocation has now sold out.
The Series S is also available at selected Amazon locales across Europe. had plenty of Xbox Series S here, for well over a week. Supply seems to have dried up now.
GameStop had a limited number of Xbox Series X and Series S bundles up for grabs but they’re now sold out. The Series X with an extra Carbon Black Wireless Controller, NBA 2K21, 3-month Game Pass and $20 Gamestop gift card would have set you back $694.

The Xbox Series X costs $499 in the US while the all-digital Xbox Series S is $299. Many stores are out of stock so be prepared to search high and low. One place you can buy the new Xbox Series X is StockX, but be prepared to pay more than the list price. Buyers are currently asking around $400 for the Series S and $700 for the Series X. You’ll also want to make sure the console has the right plug for your region.
