After UK restocks, the usually quick to sellout PS5 and Xbox Series X remained in stock for an unprecedented 24 hours, which bodes well for 2022.
Following a recent restock in the UK, PS5 and Xbox Series X remained available to order for an unprecedented 24-hour period, news that could bode well for new-gen console availability in 2022. Both high-end devices have proven difficult to find since their respective launches in late 2020. While Sony at one point seemed confident in its ability to meet lofty sales expectations for the year, reports suggest even PS5 will miss production targets.
Many parts manufacturers estimate the console stock shortage will persist well into 2022. Others, however, such as Intel, predict the supply constraints may not end until sometime in 2023. The latest-gen hardware continues to sell appreciably, though. PlayStation 5, for example, had topped 13.8 million units sold worldwide as of this past October. As usual, Microsoft remains mum about Xbox sales figures, but analysts put the Series X|S at around six million units. Both consoles experienced healthy first years, then year two could prove even healthier in some respects, based on stock information out of the United Kingdom.

Pre-launch, Microsoft confirmed which streaming apps are available on the Xbox Series X. The big news? The list includes the Apple TV app. That puts the console on a par with Sony’s PS5.

- Don’t give up: Many of these retailers have started releasing the consoles over the course of 30 minutes, to keep bots from buying them all and reselling them at a price increase. If you see everything is sold out after the first 5 minutes, keep refreshing because your chance probably isn’t gone yet.
- Have an account set-up and signed-in: The time it takes to enter your payment and shipping information can be the difference between getting your console and getting left in the dust. Avoid that delay by setting up an account on the websites you’ll be shopping on.
- Make sure you have a confirmation email: There have been many reports of a purchase getting “stuck” and even though the website said the sale was complete, no confirmation email arrived and then no Xbox arrived. When Did Ao Last Have Stock
AO is one of the few retailers to have the Xbox series X in stock post-Christmas. Those consoles landed on the AO website on 30 December and were offered as a bundle with a charging dock, extra controller and a gaming headset. Bundles tend to stay in stock longer as theyre slightly more expensive and less appealing to scalpers, as the bundled accessories eat into their potential profit.
Despite being sold as bundles, the consoles still eventually sold out. Theres no word yet on when AO will have its next PS5 restock.

How Much Is The Xbox Series X
The Xbox series X costs £449. Theres also the Xbox All Access programme, where you pay nothing up front and get an Xbox series X console and 24 months of Game Pass Ultimate for £28.99 per month. At the end of the 24 month term, you keep the console.
The all-digital Xbox series S console costs £249 and is more often in stock than the more powerful Xbox series X. The Xbox series S is also available through the Xbox All Access programme for £20.99 per month.
Bundles have been spotted, but theyre unofficial and compiled by retailers to get rid of old stock and put off scalpers. Online retailer Very bundled the console with an extra controller when it had stock of the console. Currys PC World sells the console with three months of Game Pass for £479.
With the base consoles in such limited supply, dont expect to see great deals on bundles anytime soon.

We certainly hope some more Xbox Series X restocks are on the way over the next week, anyway – it’s actually harder to find a Series X right now than it is a PS5 restock . Be sure to check in-store stock levels early in the morning and head down straight away if you spot consoles available. Stores are allocating what little stock they have on a first come first served basis, but it is possible to buy the new Xbox Series X in person.
