For now, however, you cannot buy one of the limited edition consoles from the Microsoft Store.

Best Buy ‘halo Infinite’ Edition Xbox Series X
The Halo Infinite edition Xbox Series X is available for in-store collection at certain Best Buy stores, but quantities are extremely limited.
It is worth pointing out that you cannot use the website to reserve an order ahead of time and must instead physically travel to a participating outlet, and hope that there are still some units leftover.

It’s almost been a year since the Xbox Series X launched, and while many have got their hands on the luxurious next-gen model, there’s still plenty of people waiting. According to Christopher Dring, the head of GamesIndustry.biz, news of stock improvements has been heard within the industry. It’s claimed stock levels will increase “quite a bit for the year-end run-in, just in time for Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon.”
He added that those games are intended to be “key hardware selling points during the Christmas sales window.”

Essentially, Microsoft hasn’t been able to get the materials it needs to make enough Xbox consoles to meet demand. As with the PlayStation 5 and most PC video cards, there’s a chip shortage right now that is slowing supply. The pandemic affected production for a lot of chip manufacturers, and industry watchers currently don’t expect the issue to be entirely resolved until the end of the year.
As a result, Microsoft makes as many consoles as it can and distributes them among its retail partners. Each retailer releases its available consoles in whatever way it deems appropriate. According to a new report, those at Microsoft are looking to ensure that both versions of its new console line are more readily available for purchase throughout the Christmas season.
