How Can I Improve My Chances Of Getting An Xbox Series X
It can be a little chaotic, constantly refreshing the screen and hoping to see a checkout link. And as many can attest, it’s pretty painful to punch in your payment information only to see that the purchase can’t be completed because all the consoles are already gone. Here are some of our tips:
- Open multiple browsers: Got a laptop? A phone? Maybe a tablet? Use them all to try to make the purchase. Set yourself up ahead of time with multiple browsers open to the retail site of your choice and be ready to buy from all of them.
- Don’t give up: Many of these retailers have started releasing the consoles over the course of 30 minutes, to keep bots from buying them all and reselling them at a price increase. If you see everything is sold out after the first 5 minutes, keep refreshing because your chance probably isn’t gone yet.
- Have an account set-up and signed-in: The time it takes to enter your payment and shipping information can be the difference between getting your console and getting left in the dust. Avoid that delay by setting up an account on the websites you’ll be shopping on.
- Make sure you have a confirmation email: There have been many reports of a purchase getting “stuck” and even though the website said the sale was complete, no confirmation email arrived and then no Xbox arrived. Keep an eye out and make sure you actually have an Xbox Series X headed your way before celebrating.
Walmart Xbox Series X/s Restock
Walmart Xbox Series X/S Restock Date: Possible This Week
Its been a little while since our last Walmart Xbox Series X/S restock, but were not too hopeful for the near future. After all, reports indicate that some buyers are still yet to receive their next-gen consoles from the retailer.
In the past, weve seen Walmart put new consoles live without having them in stock. If this happens again this week, dont expect any purchase you make to arrive anytime soon!
Why Is The Xbox Tough To Find
Essentially, Microsoft hasn’t been able to get the materials it needs to make enough Xbox consoles to meet demand. As with the PlayStation 5 and most PC video cards, there’s a chip shortage right now that is slowing supply. The pandemic affected production for a lot of chip manufacturers, and industry watchers currently don’t expect the issue to be entirely resolved for months to come.
As a result, Microsoft makes as many consoles as it can and distributes them among its retail partners. Each retailer releases its available consoles in whatever way it deems appropriate. Most of the time, this means announcing ahead of time when you’ll be able to buy the console online and then releasing it for anyone to buy.

Tips For Securing Your Console
The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S dont stay in stock for very long, but having a bit of online shopping savvy can increase your chances of successfully checking out. Here are some tips for giving yourself the best shot at bringing a new console home.
Create accounts with every major retailer
Every second matters when youre trying to secure an Xbox Series X, which is why you should create accounts and store your payment info at a few retailers ahead of time. YouTuber Jake Randall recommends storing a PayPal or Apple Pay account instead of a credit card if possible, as it will allow you to circumvent some of the heavy site traffic that occurs during a restock.
Once youre logged in to stores such as Amazon and Best Buy and already have a payment option set up, youll have much less clicking and typing to do once its time to add that new Xbox to your cart.
Follow Xbox Series X restock trackers on Twitter

When Will Xbox Series X And S Be Readily Available
That’s the big question isn’t it? When can you expect to visit a retailer either online or in person and find plenty of stock of Xbox Series X and S? Both Sony and Microsoft have said they expect supply constraints on semiconductors to prevent them from shipping as many next-gen systems as they’d hoped at least through 2021, and potentially beyond.

Where To Buy The Xbox Series S In The Uk
Luckily, there aren’t nearly as many stock issues with the Xbox Series S.
If you’re happy with its lesser specs and capabilities, it may be the way to go if you after a guaranteed console in the next few months.
The Series S doesn’t have the Blu-Ray drive of the Series X – instead, it’s a digital-only console.
Nor does it have the same 4K level of gameplay, or same level of internal storage.
But outside of that, it’s still a fantastic console that we gave a rave review – and it’s seriously good value for money.
Here’s where you can buy the Xbox Series S in the UK.
Last stock check: November 9, 2021.
What Are The Hardware Specs On The Xbox Series S
The Series S isnt just the Series X without a disc drive. In fact, the Series S makes some big compromises on its internal components and is a significantly weaker system. When compared to the Series X, the Series S has:
- Less RAM
- Smaller SSD
- Slower CPU
- Weaker GPU
- Outputs at 1440p instead of 4K
- No disc drive
In reality, the differences shouldnt be too noticeable. Because games will be running at 1440p instead of 4K on the Series S, you wont need as much power to keep a solid framerate. There might be a bit of slowdown during loading screens or intense action sequences, but until people have more experience comparing them its hard to say how they will stack up over the years. At the end of the day, the Series S will suffice for most players so long as youre fine with its lack of 4K and a disc drive.

Prepare Your Accounts At All The Retailers
On all the devices you might use to try to purchase a next-gen console, make sure you’re signed on all the major retailer sites. It’s also wise to keep your credit card on file so you don’t have to mess with entering your details while the clock ticks down while you try to check out.
Speaking of retailers, each of the major retailers has its own quirks for dealing with Xbox Series X and S when it comes back into stock. Here’s what to expect from each one.
Xbox Series X Vs Xbox Series S: Design
First of all, before all that great gaming, is the look. And there’s quite a difference in how each of these consoles look. The bigger, chunkier Xbox Series X is massive. Its design gives off an impressive aura of weightiness. It wants you to take it seriously, and considering what’s inside it, that totally makes sense. It’s available in black only, with some green highlights.
The S in Series S, we’re guessing, is for slim ). It actually resembles the Xbox One S, and we love the black, round grill surrounded by white body. Both are classy in our eyes, but we’ll admit they also have a ‘love it or hate it’ kind of design vibe.

Is It Safe To Buy An Xbox From An Unofficial Source
There are some places where you can safely buy an Xbox secondhand. If you’re shopping at eBay or StockX, there are protections in place to keep you from spending money and getting nothing.
- Stay away from Twitter links: If you see something on Twitter about an Xbox Series X restock happening somewhere, your best bet is to go straight to the retailer instead of clicking a link. In many cases, those Twitter links have turned out to be scams.
- Only buy at the retail price: If someone is offering you an Xbox Series X for more or less than $500 or an Xbox Series S for more or less than $300, you should probably stay away. There are many of these sites offering “deals” or “bundles” that are frequently not actually worth it.

Is Xbox One Dead
No. Its true that the Xbox one sold poorly compared to Sonys PlayStation 4, but in many ways the Xbox series X marks a shift in how Microsoft views the traditional console cycle. Rather than thinking in generations and hardware, the company is now focusing on providing ongoing access to games as a subscription service, similar to how Netflix or Spotify operates.
Game Pass is Microsofts on-demand games platform, giving players access to over 100 full games for a monthly fee. Microsoft is investing heavily in its subscription offering, snapping up large games publishers like Bethesda in a bid to bolster its library of titles and lure players away from Sonys rival PlayStation Now service.
Even the very latest games on Game Pass are designed to be compatible with previous consoles as well as next-generation ones, so that over time, owning the newest hardware becomes less important for the majority of players. Older generations of Xbox are expected to dodge the landfill for a while yet.
