When Is Rust Releasing On Consoles

Rust | Coming to Xbox and Playstation Consoles 2020!

Console players who have an interest in Rust will be happy to know that the game is set to come to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2020. The announcement was made in November 2019 in a trailer.

Following the announcement, Facepunch chief Garry Newman was interviewed on the PlayStation Blog about the development of the upcoming port. He revealed that they began work on the console versions of the game in 2018 when the PC version came out of Early Access. They genuinely believe that Rust is the best survival game on PC, so they have used the last couple of years to dedicate themselves to making it the best survival game on console as well.

Newman also revealed that players would be able to host their servers. Newman says that its important for us to allow players to take ownership and configure their servers to their preferences, so expect easy server customization.

With no firm release date set, we do not know precisely when Rust will come to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One yet. Facepunch has not revealed any new details on the console ports in quite a while, and there is no indication of how the pandemic has affected their development.

Is Rust Still Coming To Xbox One & Xbox Series X

In a statement from Double Eleven, the company made it clear that Rust is still being made for consoles. The survival game is simply delayed, and development seems to be making steady progress. Even with the obstacles faced by Double Eleven and Facepunch Studios, though, it appears that Rust will be releasing on Xbox consoles fairly soon. The announcement indicates a release window of 2021, although a specific date wasn’t shared.

Of course, the global pandemic is still ongoing, so further development delays may occur as a result. The PC version of Rust continues to get regular updates, which indicates the studio is still developing content at a steady rate. Most likely, a late 2021 release date is imminent for Rust on Xbox One and Xbox Series X. However, additional and unexpected delays could push the console version of the game into 2022.

Until an exact release date is shared, fans are only left with a 2021 release window for Rust. Thankfully, the survival game is already available on PC, and Xbox users have some great alternatives to play while they wait. Hopefully, fans of the game won’t have to wait too much longer before Rust releases on Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Why No Rust Ps5 And Series X

If youre wondering why theres no PS5 and Xbox Series X | S versions of Rust just yet, the simple answer is time, as well as just how much work has gone into even making the game work on PS4 and Xbox One.

Double Eleven have had to work incredibly hard over three years to get Facepunchs PC giant to work on the older systems, especially the base versions that came out back in 2013.

On PC, Rust has a minimum requirement of 10GB of RAM, and 16GB for recommended settings. The PS4 and Xbox One, taking all things into account, are under half of that minimum spec with 4.5 GB of RAM. Its been a very tall task for them to make Rust work on whats nearly ten year old technology, including having to rip apart and rewrite major engine subsystems within Unity to make the game even load.

Is Rust On Nintendo Switch

With the Nintendo Switch continuing to dominate the console market, a Rust: Nintendo Switch Edition could certainly be a lucrative move for Facepunch.

However, it does not appear there are currently any plans for a Nintendo Switch version of Rust, with the focus being on the console release for PS4 and Xbox One.

This does not mean that Rust will never release on the Nintendo Switch, with previous PC-only titles such as Ark: Survival Evolved, Subnautica and Minecraft also releasing on the console.

When Is Rust Coming To Ps4 And Xbox One

When Rust for PS4 and Xbox One was announced, all we received was a tentative release window of 2020, and that it will be developed alongside Double Even. However, in late 2020 with no news on a release date in sight, Double Eleven announced that it would instead be releasing in 2021.

Beyond that, its hard to really pinpoint a release date for Rust on consoles as we havent actually seen anything of the game yet its reveal trailer for consoles featured PC gameplay. Who knows how far along in production the port is.

Speaking tentatively, wed look to Rust to come to consoles during Q3/Q4 2021, though dont be surprised to see it maybe even earlier. Wed also be very surprised if Xbox Series X | S and PS5 versions dont also get announced.

Rust Ps4 & Xbox One Console Versions Spring 2021 Release Announced

Rust Coming To Console In 2021 CONFIRMED! (Rust Xbox & PS4 Release Date?)

Rust is finally coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this spring. An invite-only beta test is currently being held to gauge its servers.

Longtime PC-exclusive crafting/survival game Rust is finally coming to Xbox One and PS4 later this spring. Despite releasing nearly 10 years ago, Rust has greatly resurged in the last year or so, spiking dramatically in player count. This has suddenly renewed demand for the previously announced Rust Console Edition – thankfully, console players fans won’t have to wait long to play it.

Rust has always had a dedicated playerbase, and it was wildly popular when it first launched. However, it was surpassed and overshadowed by genre competitors like DayZ at the time. After several years, though, Rust has had a sudden boom once it became one of the most popular games on Twitch. This got even more eyes on the title and led to the game earning over a million dollars in one week. That may not seem like a lot for a standard AAA game, but for an indie that released a decade ago, it’s an impressive feat.

Rust For Xbox One Ps: Release Date And Everything We Know

Rust is finally making its way to consoles after being only on PC for many years. Rust originally launched way back in December 2013 as an early access title on Steam and launched as a full title in February 2018. Rust is renowned for being a harsh and chaotic open-world survival game where other players can be absolutely relentless. But what else is in store? Here’s what you need to know.

Is Rust Coming To Ps5 And Xbox Series X

RUST CONSOLE BETA INFO INGAME ON PC? When Is Rust Coming To PS4 XBOX?! New Info!

At this time, Rust is only confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One. These systems were reaffirmed as the only two ports upon the announcement of a Spring release window. The console ports were announced before PS5 and Xbox Series X were fully unveiled, so it makes sense that Facepunch and Double Eleven didn’t consider them initially.

Now that the game is releasing in 2021 though, a next-gen release is highly desirable. Double Eleven seems to be sticking by just doing PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, so players will need to rely on backward compatibility to play it.

How To Host A Private Server In Rust Console Edition

Private servers are currently not available in Rust Console Edition, although the ability to host your own game is coming soon. Custom servers were initially planned for the games launch, but they have been delayed indefinitely. According to a post from developer Double Eleven, For the community servers our aim was to have them ready on release but we want to make sure players get a fair deal as well as the best possible quality for the service, for this reason we are still considering all of our available options and we should have more information to share about it in the following weeks/months.

When custom servers become available, youll be able to create one from the main menu. Simply select Play Rust and then navigate to Create A Game. From there, youll be given the option between a Standard or Performance server. Hosting your own game will cost money, and each server purchase will provide 30 days of uptime, meaning servers require monthly payments to keep online. A Standard server doesnt offer much customization, but a Performance server offers a bigger map and the ability to change the gathering multiplier, monuments, and more. Both packages allow up to 50 players though, so you can play with your friends on either type of server. The price points for server rentals have yet to be announced.

Rust is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

A Brief History Of Rust

Developed by the minds behind Garrys Mod, Rust began life as an eerily similar game to DayZ when the survival genre boom was really kicking off. Zombies were part of early plans, but were scrapped.

Rust released into Early Access on Steam on 11 December, 2013 and would stay there until 2018 when it was finally fully released. Rust was a big commercial success from the off, easily eclipsing the revenue of Garrys Mod within no time at all. Early reception was mixed, though reviewers and players noted that it had potential.

The game went through many different ideas and iterations in Early Access, including changing the blueprints system for something closer to an XP system, though this was not received well by the community and reverted at full launch.

Since its full release, Facepunch have released a regular stream of updates for Rust, some of which include ride-able horses, air travel, scuba diving, and AI-controlled areas where players could trade in peace.

In 2020, Rust is regularly a feature of Steams most played and is raking in the cash for Facepunch.

Will Rust Come To Ps5 And Series X

It would be very strange if Rust would only ever be available via backwards compatibility, so yes, look out for Rust being confirmed for PS5 and Series X | S at some point in the future

As for when that might be, it all depends on how well the launch of Rust on PS4 and Xbox One will go. There will be a lot of things to sort out and fix when it fully launches, so Double Elevens priority for the foreseeable future will almost certainly be on patching and also updating Rust to bring it more and more in-line with its PC counterparts. Its missing a tonne of features, which Double Eleven have said they will be adding back over time.

For a pretty conservative guess, we think Rust may get its own PS5 and Xbox Series X | S versions a year or more after it launches on PS4 and Xbox One, similarly to Cyberpunk 2077. As long as Rust runs a little better than that at launch, its console future looks very promising.

Rust is available now on PC.
