If you desperately want an Xbox Series X console right now you can score one courtesy of Walmart and Xbox All Access. You’ll need to open a new line of credit to get your console and you’ll pay in monthly installments of $35 for two years.
If you’d rather purchase your machine outright, then GameStop will be offering the chance to purchase a console during an in-store Xbox Series X restock today. The original tip-off came from Matt Swider, who is a highly reliable source. Stores will be handing out stock from their usual opening times, but we expect queues to begin forming well before then.

The Xbox Series X stock shortage is even starting to impact Microsoft. Over the weekend some players at the first major Halo Infinite esports tournament were forced to play on development machines as Microsoft was unable to supply enough Xbox Series X consoles for the event. You know the restock situation is bad when even Microsoft can’t get hold of enough consoles!
New Games No Hardware
Say you dont own an Xbox or a gaming PC, but you do have an Android phone. Does Microsoft have any next-gen gaming options for you? Thanks to game streaming, it does. On September 15th, Microsoft added game streaming to Xbox Games Pass Ultimate, which costs $14.99 a month. The feature, which was known previously as xCloud, could give you a way to play many of the biggest Xbox Series X games without having to own any gaming hardware at all. You can stream them to a device as simple as an Android phone, for example .
Game streaming isnt an entirely new idea Sony launched its PlayStation Now service way back in 2014 to a muted response but Microsoft is taking a much more interesting approach. Rather than focusing on older titles, as Sony did with PlayStation Now, Microsoft says its new games will be available to stream the day they release and lists recent first-party titles like Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 5, Tell Me Why, The Outer Worlds, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps as being among the 150-plus games available to stream at launch.
Microsoft promises to let you stream major Xbox games straight to your phone.

Xbox Series X Restock Avoid The Scalpers
One of the reasons for Xbox Series X and Series S stock shortages is due to scalpers snapping up large amounts of next-gen consoles in one big sweep and then selling them for extortionate prices were taking thousands of dollars for a $499 games console.
VGC reported that a now infamous PS5 scalper group going by the name of CrepChiefNotify managed to snap up 1,000 Xbox Series X consoles as soon as they became available at U.K. retailer Very. But in a twist of fate, Very cancelled 1,000 Xbox Series X pre-orders, somewhat torpedoing the efforts of the scalpers.
As frustrating as it can be to find an Xbox Series X or Series S, we suggest you avoid buying a console from these scalpers. Paying massively over the odds for a console that doesn’t have a huge range of new Xbox Series X games isnt a shrewd move in our opinion. If you can hold out, Microsoft should have more Xbox Series X units to ship, as well as the promise of more exclusive games for the console.

Xbox Series X Restock At Best Buy
We used to rank Best Buy as one of the best retailers to score an Xbox Series X, but that reputation took a series beating when the retailer started locking restocks behind its $200 a year Totaltech membership.
Thankfully, not every console drop at Best Buy requires you to be a premium account holder, but its still an annoying paywall that you may need to navigate. While we do suggest signing up for a paid account at certain retailers, the value proposition of Totaltech isnt strong enough for us to suggest you become a member.
When Best Buy holds an open Xbox Series X restock, the usual rules apply: Make sure youve got an account setup with your shipping and payment details saved. It’s also a good idea to try and buy the console through the retailers website rather than its app, which tends to experience crashes during restocks.
During a restock stay on the Xbox Series X product page until you see the yellow ‘add to cart’ button, or grey ‘please wait’ button. If you see the latter, do not refresh the page. Be patient and wait for the button to change to ‘add to cart’. If Best Buy says the console is sold out in your area, you may need to switch to a nearby location, so have an alternative address at the ready just in case.
Best Buy, like other retailers, releases its Xbox Series X stock in waves, so hanging around and sinking some time into the purchasing process is likely to pay off as more stock drops, and the competition peters off as people lose patience.

Why Is The Xbox Tough To Find
Essentially, Microsoft hasn’t been able to get the materials it needs to make enough Xbox consoles to meet demand. As with the PlayStation 5 and most PC video cards, there’s a chip shortage right now that is slowing supply. The pandemic affected production for a lot of chip manufacturers, and industry watchers currently don’t expect the issue to be entirely resolved for months to come.
As a result, Microsoft makes as many consoles as it can and distributes them among its retail partners. Each retailer releases its available consoles in whatever way it deems appropriate. Most of the time, this means announcing ahead of time when you’ll be able to buy the console online and then releasing it for anyone to buy.

Fable 4 News And Rumors
In development for at least 4 years
Fable 4 has been in development for longer than you might have expected. In a recent tweet, a developer at Playground Games who is working on the game celebrated four years of working on Fable.
4 years of working on Fable at @WeArePlayground. So excited for this game. pic.twitter.com/KO099HnYSd
That means the games been in development for at least four years and that development possibly started just a year after series creator, Lionhead Studios, was closed. Though we dont know a huge amount about Fable at the moment, the idea that its been in the works for multiple years gives us some hope that we could learn more in the near future.
Fable 4’s combat could feel like The Witcher
A developer from CD Projekt RED will be working on the game’s combat system. As reported by PCGamesN, gameplay designer Pawe Kapaa is heading up the combat at Fable developer Playground Games, with his LinkedIn page confirming the role entails “designing and implementing combat in Fable.”
In our opinion, the kind of sword-and-spells combat of The Witcher 3, one of the bestselling video games of all time, would be a perfect template for a Fable game, especially given how similar some of in-game spells are.
Youll probably see it before Elder Scrolls 6
Fable 4 might be a while away but it seems possible that youll get to play it before the Elder Scrolls 6, according to Phil Spencer.

Xbox Series X: Launch Date And Stock Checker
Our sources confirmed that the Xbox Series X would launch alongside the Xbox Series S on Nov. 10, 2020, and indeed, Microsoft delivered.
The vast majority of stocks are now sold out as of writing in 2021, owing to the ongoing semi-conductor shortage hitting the world’s tech. If you’re lucky, you may still be able to nab one from various retailers including Walmart, the Microsoft official store, Best Buy, Amazon, and more.

Xbox Series X: Features And Improvements
Microsoft has made comments about improving load speeds and access to your games through the Xbox Series X, and Microsoft’s proprietary Xbox Velocity Architecture allows the SSD to offload computational scenarios that would typically be handled by other components, freeing them up for extra juice due to its speed and decompression tech.
The NVMe SSD, coupled with some of Microsoft’s own tweaks near-eliminates loading. Games with loading times of anywhere up to a minute are reduced to mere seconds, with the SSD having anywhere up to 2GB/s read speeds. Microsoft confirmed this with a side-by-side comparison of the State of Decay 2’s loading times recently.
The Xbox Series X NVMe SSD will also provide developers with more power to use, offloading asset streaming tasks typically handled by the CPU thanks to new features in DirectX, called DirectStorage .
Microsoft is also planning to bring cloud gaming to the new Xbox consoles too. This will help circumvent installation times for some games. Ultimately, next-gen is all about saving you time. Microsoft also engineered this thing to be as quiet as possible, and we’ve heard that even under heavy load, it’s virtually silent.
Another benefit of the SSD is that games will be able to save in suspended states, as per a with Major Nelson.
As noted earlier, the proof is in the pudding, though. Microsoft has already shown off at least one game that is built from the ground up for these next-gen features, and that is Hellblade II.
When Is The Release Date For Minecraft On Xbox Series X
The question to end all questions is when Minecraft will be upgraded for the Xbox Series X and Series S. We have an entire article dedicated to when Minecraft with ray tracing will come to Xbox Series X|S, but the answer there is the same as here: we simply don’t know.
Between an early technical demonstration of Minecraft with ray tracing running on Xbox Series X, Minecraft RTX working wonderfully on Windows 10, and the gaming technologies inside Xbox Series X|S progressively becoming more accessible, it’s easy to assume and believe that Minecraft is definitely being upgraded for Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, there has been absolutely zero confirmation from Mojang Studios that it’s actually happening, so we’re not able to take guesses at a potential release date.
Recent rumors have suggested that Minecraft will receive its next-gen upgrade with the upcoming Caves and Cliffs Update. However, the Caves and Cliffs Update was recently split into two parts and partially delayed, so even if Minecraft was being upgraded for Xbox Series X|S with this next feature update it’s still not clear. Should we expect it in Summer 2021 or Winter 2021? If the next-gen upgrade was planned, has it now been delayed beyond the Caves and Cliffs Update like the new archeology system? There’s simply no way to know for sure.

How Else To Get An Xbox Series X
Of course, a lot of this analysis sidesteps one important issue: right now, its nearly impossible to get an Xbox Series X without Xbox All Access, and relatively easy to get an Xbox Series X with it. But remember, once you get your Xbox in hand, you cant simply pay for the whole thing up front and be done with it. Citizens Bank will have you on the hook for the next two years, and a lot can happen in that time.
Personally, I would feel more comfortable buying a console outright, even if it meant I had to wait a few more months to get my hands on one. Furthermore, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate goes on sale relatively often you could almost certainly get two years worth for less than $360.
Still, if you do get Xbox All Access, just remember to pay on time, and in full, every month. As long as you do that, Citizens Bank should be happy with you, and you should be happy with your Xbox.
