Where To Buy An Xbox Series X
Pre-orders for the Xbox Series X opened on 22 September 2020 and sold out almost immediately. Thankfully, a second wave of pre-orders will begin through the launch window. We have assembled a guide to the best places to buy an Xbox Series X. It indicates the best places in Australia to get the console as more stock arrives in the country.
There is one exception, and that is Telstra’s Xbox All Access offering. You can sign up to that now with the knowledge that an upgrade path from the Xbox One X to the Xbox Series X has been confirmed. However, with the cost of that migration currently unclear, it may not work out to be the best deal in the end. We have more details on this offer below.
There’s Also A 50gb New Patch Free Dlc And A Free Trial Version
The long-awaited PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades for Cyberpunk 2077 are being released today. The game will also get a free trial version, free DLC, and a huge, 50GB 1.5 patch for all platforms.
Announced during a CD Projekt Red stream about the new versions and 1.5 patch, we were shown a quest, alternating between PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S footage of the game. Where the Xbox version will be a patch upgrade, PS5 users will need to download an entirely new version of the game, and transfer any existing save data from the PS4 edition.
PS5 and Xbox Series X games will offer performance or ray-tracing modes, while Xbox Series S will only offer a single 30FPS, 1440p mode.

One of the more popular DLC additions to all versions of the game will be the ability to change your character’s basic appearance in the mirror of their home apartment, including new options for hair and make-up. You will also now be able to buy new cosmetic makeovers for the apartment itself and even four brand new properties across Night City. Those properties can also see your romantic partners in the game dropping in to stay the night.
Another piece of free DLC adds new weaponry to buy from Wilson’s gun store, added after you meet Takemura in the game’s story. The game devs also said there would be some “secrets” left to find that have been added to the game.

Xbox Series X Price: Game Bundles
Some of the biggest titles are usually partnered with a new console. This year’s instalments include FIFA 21, Fortnite, Rainbow SixSiege and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
We know that Microsoft has teamed up with EA to bring over 60 of EA’s biggest games to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which gives you access to 100+ games stored in the cloud.
Halo Infinite would likely have been the most-wanted launch title, and the most popular bundle, but 343 Industries, the studio in charge of the game, announced that it’s delayed until November 2021. Which could make the perfect Christmas present for the gamer in your life…

Where Can I Pre
The short answer to this is nowhere probably. Both consoles sold out over a month ago, almost as soon as they were put up for pre-order. Some stores have had a very limited amount of stock since, but theyve usually disappeared even more quickly.
Your best bet now is that more additional consoles will be made available to buy on launch day, although since England is in lockdown again that isnt as helpful as it might have been. Depending on how strict they are about the rules supermarkets probably wont sell them, until the lockdown is over, so your only real option is to keep checking major stores like Amazon, GAME, Argos, and Smyths especially their Twitter accounts.
If you have pre-ordered though you will still be able to pick up your new console on Tuesday via the click and collect service most stores now operate, although some are also now offering to post out consoles instead.
Theres also the option to use Xbox All Access, via Game or Smyths, that allows you to buy either console in monthly instalments. Its very welcome option but it doesnt solve the problem of there being no consoles in stock, although you can try and start the process here.
Auto Hdr On Xbox Series X
Like the Xbox One, the Xbox Series X allows for calibration of HDR for games. We’d advise setting this before playing any games, as it ensures the balance of contrast is spot-on, giving you the best visuals possible.
For our initial review, we primarily had access to a selection of backwards-compatible titles which are the best indicator of the boost in performance the Xbox Series X delivers over its last-gen counterparts. With the above settings enabled, we found that the games immediately looked better on the Xbox Series X which isn’t particularly surprising, given that Microsoft has implemented native HDR for these titles.
We go into detail as to how this performance boost improves Xbox Series X Optimized titles further down, but in short, when playing backwards-compatible titles on the Xbox One S and Xbox Series X versions side-by-side we could clearly see the visual upgrade.

The Halo Infinite Edition
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Xbox’s original flagship series Halo, this year Microsoft released a special edition of the Series X console inspired by the series’ most recent title, Halo Infinite. The console was a limited edition and sold out quickly. While all retailers currently list the console as out of stock, there is a possibility that there are still a few of them floating around out there. If you’re truly committed to getting your hands on a Series X , it may be worth poking around for one. Read more on the special edition Halo Infinite console here.
List Of Xbox Series X And Series S Games
The following is a list of games that have been announced for release on Microsoft‘s Xbox home video game console family including the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Both were released on November 10, 2020.
The Xbox Series X and Series S have full backward compatibility with Xbox One games as well as several Xbox 360 and original Xbox games that were supported on the Xbox One, excluding those that used Kinect. Most Xbox One games that also have an Xbox Series X/S version will automatically download the Xbox Series X/S version for the system via Microsoft’s “Smart Delivery” program, without an additional purchase. This list excludes backward compatible games.
Developers can also target for an “Optimized for Xbox Series X/S” branding, indicating that the game is running natively as an Xbox Series X/S game and not under backwards compatibility.
There are 330 games currently on this list.

The difference in power generally means early Series S and Series X games run at different resolutions but often perform similarly. For example, Watch Dogs: Legion targets 4K at 30fps on the Series X and 1080p 30fps on the Series S, and both support ray-tracing for better-looking reflections.
Similarly, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon run at 60fps at 1080p on the Series S, compared to 4K 60fps on the Series X.
Xbox Series X Features
- Dolby Atmos and DTS support
- More entertainment apps available than before
- Smart Delivery makes it easy to jump between consoles
- Xbox app makes it easier to manage and access your console on the go
The Xbox Series X has a number of useful features and meaningful quality-of-life improvements, while the inclusion of a Blu-ray drive and access to entertainment apps means the console can double-up as a home entertainment system.

Itll be up to the individual developer to decide whether or not they want to essentially remaster their title for the Series X. During its Xbox Game Showcase announced that a handful of more titles will receive the Smart Delivery treatment once the Series X launches

Xbox Series X Restock Avoid The Scalpers
One of the reasons for Xbox Series X and Series S stock shortages is due to scalpers snapping up large amounts of next-gen consoles in one big sweep and then selling them for extortionate prices were taking thousands of dollars for a $499 games console.
VGC reported that a now infamous PS5 scalper group going by the name of CrepChiefNotify managed to snap up 1,000 Xbox Series X consoles as soon as they became available at U.K. retailer Very. But in a twist of fate, Very cancelled 1,000 Xbox Series X pre-orders, somewhat torpedoing the efforts of the scalpers.
As frustrating as it can be to find an Xbox Series X or Series S, we suggest you avoid buying a console from these scalpers. Paying massively over the odds for a console that doesn’t have a huge range of new Xbox Series X games isnt a shrewd move in our opinion. If you can hold out, Microsoft should have more Xbox Series X units to ship, as well as the promise of more exclusive games for the console.

Warhammer 4000: Space Marine 2
- Publisher: Focus Entertainment
- Release date: TBC
- Exclusive? No, also on PC
The first Space Marine came out a decent while ago, but was a well-like third-person action and shooter that felt like a nice way into the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Now, it’s finally getting a sequel, and from the glimpses of gameplay at the end of the announcement trailer it should be a bloody good time.
Microsoft Xbox Series S Refresh In 2022 Xbox Series X Refresh In 2023 To Utilize Amd’s New 6nm Apus
According to MLID, Microsoft seems to be readying its refresh lineup starting with the Xbox Series S console first. This is being done to tackle the PlayStation 5 Slim which is expected to launch around a similar timeframe in late 2022. The new Xbox Series S console is said to be a higher-spec’d variant of the existing Xbox Series S console.
The reason to get the new Xbox Series S console out so early is that Microsoft sees a higher attach rate to its Xbox Game Pass on the Xbox Series S compared to the Xbox Series X. Since the company, allegedly, operates the Xbox brand as a SaaS which relies entirely on its pass sales, they want more consumers to grab the game pass and to do that, they want to release a new and better Xbox Series S which would not only give new users an incentive to upgrade but will also result in dropping the prices on the existing Xbox Series S to around $189-$249 US which will drive in more users towards the Xbox platform, even if they use it as a secondary console.

System Software And Features
Both consoles feature a similar user interface to the Xbox One, but there has been a 40% reduction in memory use to improve its speed. According to the UI development team, the Home section loads in about half the time as it did on the Xbox One. Other changes include adding rounded UI elements, a more-readable font for text elements, rearrangement of certain aligned features, and improvements to the sharing functions. These changes were brought to the Xbox One system software, the Windows’ Xbox application, and the Xbox mobile application around September 2020. Based on system previews, about 200 GB of space was reserved on the internal drive of the Xbox Series X for system files.
The console’s Quick Resume feature will allow users to suspend and resume more than one game at a time, and also resume suspended games after a reboot of the console.
Several video and streaming media services will be available through the system software on the consoles’ launch notably, it will be the first time that Apple TV+ will be available on Xbox consoles.
Microsoft plans to migrate the xCloud service from Xbox One S-based blade servers to Xbox Series X-based systems by 2021.
Why Is The Xbox Tough To Find
Essentially, Microsoft hasn’t been able to get the materials it needs to make enough Xbox consoles to meet demand. As with the PlayStation 5 and most PC video cards, there’s a chip shortage right now that is slowing supply. The pandemic affected production for a lot of chip manufacturers, and industry watchers currently don’t expect the issue to be entirely resolved for months to come.
As a result, Microsoft makes as many consoles as it can and distributes them among its retail partners. Each retailer releases its available consoles in whatever way it deems appropriate. Most of the time, this means announcing ahead of time when you’ll be able to buy the console online and then releasing it for anyone to buy.

Is It Safe To Buy An Xbox From An Unofficial Source
There are some places where you can safely buy an Xbox secondhand. If you’re shopping at eBay or StockX, there are protections in place to keep you from spending money and getting nothing.
- Stay away from Twitter links: If you see something on Twitter about an Xbox Series X restock happening somewhere, your best bet is to go straight to the retailer instead of clicking a link. In many cases, those Twitter links have turned out to be scams.
- Only buy at the retail price: If someone is offering you an Xbox Series X for more or less than $500 or an Xbox Series S for more or less than $300, you should probably stay away. There are many of these sites offering “deals” or “bundles” that are frequently not actually worth it.
