Minecraft update 1.17 has been the talk of the town among the game’s avid fanbase for months.

It’ll make a bunch of additions to the decade-old sandbox video game that’s popular among kids and adults alike.

The update is so large, in fact, that it’s had to be split into two parts. The first half is due to roll out this week.

Players will see new mobs such as Axolotls, as well as a new boss called the Guardian.

There are fresh biomes to visit and new and improved caves, as well as new blocks such as copper, deepslate and dripleaf.

When Does Minecraft 119 Launch

Minecraft 1.19 will launch in 2022, but Mojang hasn’t given a specific date yet. With the second half of the Caves & Cliffs update launching at the end of 2021, it seems likely that the Wild Update wont arrive until later in 2022. As usual, well likely see early versions of the update in snapshot builds.

What Should We Expect

There is a huge list of new blocks being added to the game, including amethyst, copper, deepslate, moss and tinted glass.

Creators Mojang said: In the real world, there are many different kinds of copper ore from cuprite, which contains 88 per cent copper, to chalcopyrite, which is just 35 per cent copper. Humans have been mining copper for almost ten thousand years, with the earliest evidence of excavation found in locations in modern-day Turkey and Iraq.

Unlike other ores, like iron, the block itself wont drop when you mine it . Instead, youll get a few chunks of raw copper, each of which can be smelted into a copper ingot.

Thats nice, because you get a little more copper per ore block you find than you would with iron. Dont say we dont do anything nice for you. You can also craft the raw copper into raw copper blocks.

There are also new items, such as raw copper, raw gold and raw iron, and three new mobs an axolotl, a goat and a glow squid.

Minecraft’s Next Big Update Gets A Release Date

Minecraft developer Mojang Studios has announced that its next big update, Caves & Cliffs: Part II, is officially set to release on November 30th. That said, it seems like not all of the initially planned features will make the cut, though it will still include several new additions that should make players happy.

Specifically, Minecraft‘s Caves & Cliffs: Part II update will include major renovations to mountains and caves like better terrain generation and cave systems, higher peaks on mountains, and larger ore veins. It will also bring candles to the video game. That said, features like archeology, bundles, and goats have all been put on hold for now.

Minecraft

“You may have noticed that a few items were missing from the list of new stuff, namely archeology, bundles, and goat horns,” the announcement of the Caves & Cliffs: Part II update release date reads in part. “This was not just because I couldn’t come up with something quippy to write about them, because I totally could. Archeology? I can dig it! See? Gold. No, these features have been put on hold. They have not been cancelled, we just had to put them on the backburner for now. While they won’t be in the Wild Update, they are going to come to Minecraft in the future when we’re able to add them in the best possible way.”

Everything New In Minecraft Caves And Cliffs Part 2 118 Update

The Minecraft Caves and Cliffs part 2 update, also known as Minecraft 1.18, is bringing a whole host of changes to the entire Minecraft world. Eight new biomes, expanded underground and ceiling areas, and totally new ore distribution are some of the major new features arriving in the 1.18 update. If youre ready to learn more after exploring the Caves and Cliffs part 1 update, or youre hopping back into Minecraft after a long time away, heres what you need to know about the biggest changes coming with the Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update.

When Is The Release Date Of The Wild Update For Minecraft

With the second half of the Caves and Cliffs Update not even officially released to players yet, the question of when The Wild Update can be expected is met with an understandably vague answer. Mojang Studios has elected not to share any release dates or even a target window, which aligns with how the developer usually works . At least for now, the release date for The Wild Update is simply “2022,” with nothing more specific than that.

1.18 Caves and Cliffs Update Part Two is expected later in 2021, and then we’ll likely begin to learn more about The Wild Update and what’s to come. Right now, The Wild Update looks to be one release instead of the two-part drop that the Caves and Cliffs Update was, but plans could change later on .

Like with every Minecraft release, The Wild Update is heading to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition, which is available on practically every gaming platform imaginable. The Wild Update should also be closer in parity across Minecraft versions than previous updates.

We’ll continue to update this section as we learn more about when The Wild Update is coming to Minecraft players everywhere, including when Mojang begins early testing of features and changes through its beta and snapshot programs.

Sculk Blocks And Wireless Redstone

One of the Deep Dark biomes characteristics is that it is where Sculk Growths are normally found. Its a new redstone-like power source, but is the key for finally introducing us to the wireless activation of redstone powered gadgets.

If a Sculk Sensor detects footsteps, or destroy/place a block, it will emit a new redstone signal. These can be used to operate gadgets without a trail of redstone connecting the two.

You can use wool to prevent the signal passing through too, meaning that you can ensure that the trigger only activates the signal between Sculk signals and contraptions. The possibilities for wireless redstone in constructing city builds or colossal Minecraft castles are nigh-on endless!

Minecraft 119 Update Release Date

Minecraft 1.19, The Wild Update, wasn’t given a specific release date at Minecraft Live 2021. Instead, we got a release date window. Worse, a very vague one.

Minecraft 1.19 will arrive in 2022, the kind of release date window we got from Minecraft Live 2020 with the Caves and Cliffs Update.

The Caves and Cliffs update was eventually split into two parts, with the first arriving on June 8th, 2021, and the second part scheduled for the holiday season.

With The Wild being significantly less expansive than Caves and Cliffs, we expect it won’t need as much development time and should come out in the first half of 2022.

Our estimate would be for Minecraft 1.19 to release in May.

Minecraft Frogs Tadpoles And Fireflies

Finally for Minecraft The Wild update, there are several new animals to meet on your adventures. Minecraft Frogs leap around near water, happily bouncing about the place and occasionally falling off their lily pad while they try to eat any Fireflies hovering overhead. Unlike other animals that grow up from smaller versions of themselves, these Frogs actually develop from Tadpoles that swim around in water, which can be caught in a bucket and taken to different areas.

There are three variants of Frog that can develop in Minecraft 1.19, based on the temperature of the biome in which they grow up. Alongside the regular Frogs, a cold biome will produce Snowy Frogs while a hot biome will yield Tropical Frogs. The developers have promised that each of these variants will provide something unique to players, though they are still in development so exactly what hasn’t been decided yet.

In Minecraft Caves And Cliffs Part 2 Update Mountains Are Getting Taller And Caves Are Getting Bigger

Minecraft Xbox & Playstation: TU36 SECRET UPDATE OUT NOW?! | New Things Coming?!

Another big change thats coming with the Cave and Cliffs part 2 update in Minecraft 1.18 is that the world is getting big vertical expansion to accommodate a lot of the new biomes. Minecrafts in-world Y-axis is being expanded by 64 blocks in both directions, creating a total vertical building range of 384 blocks, up from 256 blocks. In terms of the in-game coordinates, thats from y-64 to y320.

Youll notice that generated mountains can now be taller thanks to the taller ceiling, and caves go even deeper as far down as y-64! With the raised world ceiling, clouds now spawn higher in the sky too, at y192 instead of y128. With these changes and the new biomes coming in update 1.18, ore veins and ore distribution is getting significant changes too.

Minecraft Caves And Cliffs Part 2 Patch Notes: Release Date Trailer Content And Everything You Need To Know About Update 118

Cave robber

Minecraft’s massive Caves and Cliffs update was so excessive that it had to be split into two parts.

This update will come as part of the 1.18 patch and will introduce plenty of new content as well as quality of life improvements for the game.

With a lot of world changes potentially on the cards, there’s a lot to take in and plenty of mystery still shrouding it all.

While Minecraft Live had no real updates, we’re sure we’re not far from the next big announcement for the update.

Here’s what we know about the Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update.

Release Date

Caves and Cliffs Part two is scheduled to arrive Holiday 2021 as part of update 1.18.

There’s no specific date yet, but with Minecraft Live taking place on the 16th October, we should hear more details about a release date.

Part one was released on the 8th June 2021.

Snapshot

Changes in 21W41A include the following:

  • Changes
  • The main menu backdrop now shows a Caves & Cliffs: Part II scene
  • Badlands mineshafts generate higher up
  • Geodes now only generate up to height 30 and their rarity has been adjusted to match 1.17 levels
  • The angle at which sprinting against a block does not break your sprint has been increased a bit
  • Technical Changes
  • Changed the prioritization order of the chunk rendering pipeline
  • Unrendered chunk holes in the world should not appear anymore while flying fast with a high render distance
  • Server classes are now signed
  • New random number generator for Overworld generation
  • Terrain Changes: Exploring Below Y=0

In Minecraft 1.18, world generation is being overhauled and for the first time you’ll be able to dig below Y-Level 0.

The new lowest depth is -64, and below Y=0 you’ll enter the so-called “Deepslate layer”, where stone-type blocks turn into deepslate blocks. This is also true for ore veins: you’ll find copper, gold, iron, redstone, and so on in deepslate veins when you’re below Y=0.

You’ll find all sorts of fascinating new cave structures in 1.18 thanks to the new underground terrain generation changes. All this extra space also makes room for a brand new biome: the Deep Dark biome which can be found in the “deepest depths of world” according to Mojang. This biome is home to Candles, Sculk Blocks, and the Warden mob – the latter two of which we’ll talk about below.

The terrain changes also mean you’ll need to start looking elsewhere for Diamonds. Find out more with our guide on how to find Diamonds in Minecraft.
