When Is Rust Coming Out For Console

Rust is coming out for console on PS4 and Xbox One in Spring 2021.

This means the release date for Rust coming out on console should fall somehwere between March and the end of May.

As for why the games 2020 launch on consoles was delayed, a blog post on Double Elevens website from back in December says that the year was too challenging due to everyone working from home.

Rust For Xbox One Ps: Release Date And Everything We Know

Rust is finally making its way to consoles after being only on PC for many years. Rust originally launched way back in December 2013 as an early access title on Steam and launched as a full title in February 2018. Rust is renowned for being a harsh and chaotic open-world survival game where other players can be absolutely relentless. But what else is in store? Here’s what you need to know.

Do We Know Any Details

Is Rust crossplay between PS4, Xbox One and PC? Cross ...

Sadly, despite the announcement trailer, not much has been revealed about the game. We dont know when it will be released and we dont know if this will look to incorporate cross-play features.

In my opinion, crossplay will be an important factor with this release. Put simply, you either love or hate Rust and its not a game thats overly friendly to the casual player. As such, making with friends is hugely advantageous.

So, if youre up for it when it comes out on console, I look forward to you raiding my base in the very near future!

A Brief History Of Rust

Developed by the minds behind Garrys Mod, Rust began life as an eerily similar game to DayZ when the survival genre boom was really kicking off. Zombies were part of early plans, but were scrapped.

Rust released into Early Access on Steam on 11 December, 2013 and would stay there until 2018 when it was finally fully released. Rust was a big commercial success from the off, easily eclipsing the revenue of Garrys Mod within no time at all. Early reception was mixed, though reviewers and players noted that it had potential.

The game went through many different ideas and iterations in Early Access, including changing the blueprints system for something closer to an XP system, though this was not received well by the community and reverted at full launch.

Since its full release, Facepunch have released a regular stream of updates for Rust, some of which include ride-able horses, air travel, scuba diving, and AI-controlled areas where players could trade in peace.

In 2020, Rust is regularly a feature of Steams most played and is raking in the cash for Facepunch.

The Only Aim In Rust Is To Survive

A game without rules, Rust doesnt tell you what to do. Conquer thirst and hunger, weather the elements, and create the tools necessary for survival. Be prepared for challenging player vs. player combat, raiding and looting, or forge alliances with other players to overcome the obstacles you share. Explore, fight, survive.

Rust Ps4 & Xbox One Console Versions Spring 2021 Release Announced

Rust is finally coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this spring. An invite-only beta test is currently being held to gauge its servers.

Longtime PC-exclusive crafting/survival game Rust is finally coming to Xbox One and PS4 later this spring. Despite releasing nearly 10 years ago, Rust has greatly resurged in the last year or so, spiking dramatically in player count. This has suddenly renewed demand for the previously announced Rust Console Edition – thankfully, console players fans won’t have to wait long to play it.

Rust has always had a dedicated playerbase, and it was wildly popular when it first launched. However, it was surpassed and overshadowed by genre competitors like DayZ at the time. After several years, though, Rust has had a sudden boom once it became one of the most popular games on Twitch. This got even more eyes on the title and led to the game earning over a million dollars in one week. That may not seem like a lot for a standard AAA game, but for an indie that released a decade ago, it’s an impressive feat.

A Rust beta will be ongoing for the next few weeks, likely to ensure that everything is good to go for its 100-player servers ahead of launch. The beta is currently limiting its participants, but will open up more over the coming weeks. The beta is largely being kept under wraps, as players who participate have to sign non-disclosure agreements.

Does Rust On Console Have A Single

RUST ON CONSOLE in 2020 XBOX ONE and PS4 | Rust update 15th November 2019

Unfortunately, there is no single-player option to play on your own, or even offline for that matter. This is purely an online server-based, multiplayer, open-world survival game. Luckily though, there is a “Softcore” mode for players who want a bit of an easier experience. Currently, there is very little to confirm if there will be differences In content between the PC version and the consoles versions, though there may not be any.

When Is The Rust Console Edition’s Release Date

Rust for PS4 and Xbox will be released on May 21, 2021. This date was confirmed during an on March 26 after a spring release window was teased earlier in the year. This release will come about a year and a half after the portâs announcement.

The console ports were confirmed during Microsoft’s X019 event and were slated for a 2020 release. The whole year went by though, and we didn’t hear anything else about these ports.

Then in December 2020, developers Facepunch Studios and Double Eleven released a blog post confirming the delay: “We love making great games and bringing them to new audiences, but that sometimes means taking a bit longer to get it right than we originally planned and comes at the unfortunate cost of the disappointment and trust of those who were so keen to play it upon launch,” the blog post said.

The game was rated by the ESRB in January, and a closed beta for the console ports was subsequently held. Clearly, this was all building toward a May release.

Is Rust Launching In Xbox Game Preview

The question has been asked on Reddit, yet still, developer Facepunch Studios hasnt offered any official confirmation on the matter. At the time of writing, there are no announced plans to bring Rust to Xbox Game Preview. Instead, it appears as though Rust will release as a final product from the start on Xbox One, just as it presumably will on PS4.

This may not necessarily be the case, however, as Rust isnt expected to land on Xbox until the second half of 2020 according to its creator, Garry Newman. This does leave time for plans to be announced and the game to spend a relatively brief period of time in Xbox Game Preview, but thats certainly no guarantee.

With Steam Early Access being attributed to the games initial success, some might see skipping out on a Rust Xbox Game Preview release as a missed opportunity. Games like Ark: Survival Evolved and Player Unknowns Battlegrounds thrived in the Xbox Game Preview environment and already boasted flourishing communities when the full release versions rolled around. Whether or not Rust could lose out on this boon if Facepunch Studios has opted out remains to be seen.

What Should We Expect From Rust On Console

What time does Rust come out? Release time for PS4 and ...

According to Garry Newman, Facepunch head honcho, the studio are looking to avoid a lot of the mistakes that previous developers have made when porting their survival games to console.

theres a lot of rushed, short sighted low frame rate survival games on console and we didnt want to be in that group. If we release a console version its got to perform right and its got to play right. Its got to be the best survival game you can get on a console.

This instantly brings the likes of DayZ to mind, which was an absolutely disastrous port that didnt do the game itself justice, though its PC version is hardly a shining beacon of optimisation, either.

As for how this will translate to console, Facepunch may have to make a few concessions to get Rust running relatively smoothly on console at a stable 30fps its really difficult to see it managing above that in terms of frames.

At a guess, wed expect the graphical quality to be pared back and for things like draw distance to take a hit, as well as for the map sizes and max player counts per server to be limited a little. This is because Rust is a CPU vampire and asks a lot of really powerful PCs as is, so with current generation consoles being a little underpowered, they may need to cut some things down.

In April 2020, a closed beta for Rust appeared on the Xbox One store, though this was later confirmed by Garry Newman to be for internal testing only.

Rust Xbox One & PS4 Release Date Confirmed?!

Well, putting that aside, if you have always wanted to give this a go on console, then it is 100% definitely on the way! Better late than never, right?

Rust: Console Edition Announced For Ps4 Xbox One Release In May

It will also be available on next-gen consoles through backwards compatibility

Game developer Double Eleven has announced that Rust will release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in May this year.

The developer shared the news via the games official blog. The console versions of the now seven-year-old multiplayer survival game will launch on May 21 for PS4 and Xbox One. The game can also be played on PS5, Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility.

While the console version of Rust is based off the PC version that launched in 2013 through early access, the developer noted that the console versions have been designed and optimised for a completely separate and unique console player experience.

The game will take up around 4.5GB of RAM on consoles, compared to an average of 20GB on PCs for optimal performance. The console version will also include loading times of around one minute give or take.

The developer shared that for its first console test version, the initial load took up to 45 minutes to read and decompress the enormous procedural map and its assets into memory.

The developer also noted that it had to rebuild several of the games more advance features so it would translate well on console. It also said that the console versions of Rust will come with regular updates.

The console release of Rust comes in three different editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate. The pre-ordering phase for these editions ended on May 14, and players who purchased either the Deluxe or Ultimate editions get “welcome packs” with different extra items for their characters like skins and Rust Coins. The Deluxe and Ultimate editions also grant players early access to the game before those who have the Standard Edition. The early access period began yesterday for PlayStation players followed by Xbox players at 12:00 a.m. UTC this morning.

The early access period will continue until May 21, but Standard Edition owners will be able to jump into the action just a little bit earlier. According to Microsoft’s website, players downloading Rust on Xbox will be able to do so at 7:00 p.m. EST on May 20, a few hours earlier than the listed release date on May 21. For PlayStation players, the PlayStation store says gamers will be able to download the game on May 20 as well, although it does not specify a time. Considering the PlayStation and Xbox release times for the earlier editions were around an hour apart, it’s likely they will be close together for the Standard Edition too.

Rust is available now on PC and macOS and is currently in early access for certain PS4 and Xbox One console editions. It releases in full on May 21.
