Essentially, Microsoft hasn’t been able to get the materials it needs to make enough Xbox consoles to meet demand. As with the PlayStation 5 and most PC video cards, there’s a chip shortage right now that is slowing supply. The pandemic affected production for a lot of chip manufacturers, and industry watchers currently don’t expect the issue to be entirely resolved for months to come.
As a result, Microsoft makes as many consoles as it can and distributes them among its retail partners. Each retailer releases its available consoles in whatever way it deems appropriate. Most of the time, this means announcing ahead of time when you’ll be able to buy the console online and then releasing it for anyone to buy.

Xbox Series X Restock Updates
Following Xbox restock updates can eat up a lot of time. However, one of the best ways to anticipate the release of a new drop from retailers is understanding when they last released stock. Understanding when stores get in new inventory can give you some insight into the cadence in which they receive more systems.
Since most retailers dont usually announce when restocks happen, were compiling a restock list showing when the Xbox was restocked at various stores. This list is current as of Dec. 23, 2021.
Who Might Restock The Xbox Series X Next
Were pinning our hopes on another Very restock next Tuesday.
Very last had stock on 14 December, though since then the retailers supply has completely dried up. Customers could choose from one of a number of optional bundles, including three months of Game Pass and an additional controller.

The Xbox Series X Is Still In Stock At Currys But Theres A Catch
The Xbox series X is available to buy right now at Currys. But there is a slight catch, as it cannot be bought on its own. Instead, the console is offered in two different bundles.
The first bundle includes the Xbox elite series 2 wireless controller and costs £589. Thats a saving of £9.99 compared to buying the console and controller separately.
The second bundle includes an Xbox series X and a 1TB Seagate expansion hard drive, which when installed doubles the storage of the console, giving more space for downloaded games. This bundle is priced at £644, saving £13.99 on the usual price.

On Twitter, click the bell icon to get notifications when the account tweets. While these users do their best to post restocks as quickly as they can, they may also post news, updates, and retweet followers who have had success thanks to their accounts. The best-case scenario is that one of these accounts tweets a store link with in-stock Xbox, and you click on the notification in time to purchase a new system.
A good way to make sure you dont miss your chance is to have a smartphone or a tablet pushing updates to those devices whenever they tweet. From there, you can click on the update notification and then click on the retailer link in the tweet.
Log in everywhere
Responding to a Twitter notification and quickly trying to buy a Xbox requires speed and luck. This process can be stressful, but if you set up a few things in advance, youll have a better chance of securing a new console.
After youve set your Twitter account to receive updates, log in at every possibleretailer on your computer, smartphone, and tablet. That includes online shops like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Walmart, and more. Go to your account settings, and make sure your credit card, billing address, and shipping address are all current. You dont want to fill in this information while trying to check out.

Sam’s Club Xbox Series X Restock
You are currently unable to buy an Xbox Series X from Sam’s Club.

Antonline released a new Xbox Series X bundle on Friday, September 24 but this stock was rapidly depleted.
While the Xbox Series X is now unavailable, you still have the opportunity to pick up one of the less-powerful Series S models from the retailer. These cheaper units are packaged with spare controllers and Nyko Core wired headsets.

Xbox Series X Restock News For Thursday October 7

We saw a Best Buy Xbox Series X restock on Wednesday, but it sold out within a few seconds and actually crashed the entire Best Buy website. We’re hoping GameStop is prepared for the crush of traffic coming for its Far Cry 6 Series X restock today.
Most restocks happen online, and that includes the new news about the GameStop Xbox Series X restock with Far Cry 6. You won’t find it in GameStop stores. In fact, there has only been one in-store GameStop Xbox restock in 2021 this summer and other recently at Best Buy having Xbox Series X recently,

We haven’t seen the Best Buy restock Xbox Series X since mid-July, according to our restock Twitter tracker Matt Swider, and even though he’s issued Twitter alerts about a few Best Buy PS5 restock dates in August. Microsoft’s console has suddenly become harder to buy in the second half of 2021.
The good news is that Best Buy often restocks next-gen consoles during the daytime and we feel we’re overdue for the console. It’s also holding back on the Halo Infinite-themed Xbox Series X, but does have a product page up for the snazzy-looking limited-edition console with a grayed-out add-to-cart button that promises it’s ‘Coming soon’.

Best Buy Xbox Series X dates have been pretty consistent in 2021 with nearly weekly console drops through its online store . The last stock went live in the US on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, meaning there was no restock last week after a month of the popular electronics retailer offering new consoles weekly.
There was a more recent Best Buy PS5 restock a little over a week ago on a Friday, but Xbox buyers were left out in the cold and Best Buy offered no consoles last week. Like a lot of American retailers, Best Buy has had the Xbox in stock longer, but drops happen fewer times than the Sony disc and digital consoles.
Best Buy restock dates have been random, although the in-stock time has always fit into a daylight hours window: 9:38am to 5:05pm so basically the whole day, but at least this information tells you it’s never overnight nor it is in the very early morning. That can make it difficult to buy the Xbox Series X from Best Buy if you’re stuck at work during those hours.

While there are no announced console restocks at any retailers today, that doesn’t mean no Xbox Series X restocks are around. December has been a big month for Xbox Series X restocks, and this week is no exception with events at GameStop as well as Best Buy. Many surprise restocks happen in the afternoon — as long as you know where to look. If you don’t see a console drop today, it’s likely another drop will not happen until after the new year.
Here are some quick tips for catching a surprise Xbox restock:
- Timing: Unannounced restocks typically happen after 10 a.m. PT unless they come from Target, which tends to drop them before 6 a.m. PT .
- Walmart, GameStop and Best Buy have membership subscriptions that frequently offer early access to restocks, but they’re not always required. Even if you don’t pay for early access, you should still create an account with these retailers for faster checkout.
- Install the app for your preferred retailer, which is often faster to use than the websites, but it’s better to use both.

Gamestop ‘pro’ Membership Needed For This Restock
This is a question we always get: will I need to have a GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro membership to get the Xbox Series X restock on Thursday?
Yes and no. GameStop offers ‘early access’ to the Xbox Far Cry 3 bundle. This doesn’t mean you’ll get access any earlier than 11am EDT. Better than ‘early access’ you get ‘first access’ starting at the 11am EDT Xbox restock time. If there are any consoles left over, usually after one hour, then it’ll be up for grabs for non-Pro members.
But the price of GameStop’s Pro membership is $15 a year, not per month like a lot of people suspect. You don’t have to get the $20 membership . That version comes with a paper-based magazine instead of a digital copy. You can save $5 by switching over the $15 membership instead.

Best Buy stores are reportedly ready to release PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles in the USA this week. This would be the first time PlayStation 5 would be released in a physical store in the USA at a major-label non-club retailer in the year 2021. Its been a long, weird journey since the two mega-popular gaming consoles were released, and this might be the first real sign that were headed back to a normal world
Per sources speaking with TechRadar, Best Buy stores will have both Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles in stock. It would seem that both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will be released to stores in quantities of 50 or more.
If you plan on attempting to purchase a gaming console at a Best Buy location this week, Thursday is the day you should keep your eye on. Insiders suggest that Best Buy locations will not confirm with you that they have stock until that day. Its possible Best Buy will release a note this week before Wednesday about the new stock in select stores. MOST Best Buy stores will not have consoles in stock.
Best Buy will most likely hand out tickets around 7AM local time on Thursday morning. Its extremely likely well have a list of the stores thatll have consoles in stock in advance of the release date this week. Best Buy managers will likely hand out paper tickets in line for purchase of one or the other console in an amount equal to the stock they have in-store.
