Xbox One Players Surprised With Rare Stealth Release

10 HUGE Tips To Get The Most Out Of Your Xbox Series X|S In 2021

Xbox One players have been surprised with a rare stealth release alongside PC users. When it comes to stealth releases, the Nintendo Switch has a borderline monopoly, followed by the PS4 and PS5. Its very rare for any Xbox console to get a stealth release, but this week thats exactly what Xbox One users and Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X users, via backward compatibility got.

More specifically, developer Original Fire Games and publisher Square Enix Collective surprised both Xbox One and PC users with the release of Circuit Superstars, a top-down racer and indie game quietly anticipated by many after its reveal more than two years ago. The game is also coming soon to Nintendo Switch and PS4, but right now thats the only information we have on these versions.

Circuit Superstars has been available since March 5 on PC via Steam Early Access. Over on the PC digital storefront, the game boasts a Very Positive Steam User Review Rating, with 87 percent of 669 user reviews rating the game positively.

Xbox Series X And Series S Controller

The fourth generation Xbox Controller doesn’t change much from the Xbox One controller, but the new wireless Xbox Controller does add a capture and share button, a hybrid d-pad, and better gripping on the bumpers and triggers. The controller is also promised to be cross compatible with certain PC’s and mobile devices.

Which One Should I Buy

With three main consoles and one variant in the Xbox One family, some gamers may not know which one fits their needs the most. Heres our short buyers guide to help you make the best decision between all of them.

The original Xbox One is quite dated, even though its graphics are still holding up well. That said, unless you find a good deal, you should stick with the Xbox One S or X. These two are more powerful and can run games better.

If you cant afford the Xbox One X, the Xbox One S is a great choice. It might not offer a considerable boost in performance, but its still better than the original console. You can also watch 4K media on it if you own or stream it.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is a surprising alternative for gamers who dislike piles of discs and covers. It doesnt truly replace the first Xbox One S, but you dont need to worry about physical media copies with it.

However, if you value having a disc for collectability, you shouldnt buy one. Theres no way to make the All-Digital Edition run physical games, and youre stuck with the 1 TB of storage space.

The Xbox One X was easily the king of consoles before the next-gen consoles were introduced in 2020. It can play games in 4K natively and even boost older titles to 120 FPS if supported. Whats more, it has practically everything the older consoles have.

Overall, the Xbox One S and X are the best choices among the four.

If you dont want to subscribe you can still use the Xbox Network free service. You wont be able to play games with other people or get free games, but all of the other benefits of Xbox Network will be available to you. There are dozens upon dozens of video apps that you can use on Xbox Network such as ESPN, UFC, WWE Network, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and many, many more that you can use on Xbox One for no additional fees Subscription fees for individual apps will still apply, but you dont have to pay for Xbox Live Gold on top of them just to use an app.

Xbox One Review: Games

When Did The First Xbox 360 Come Out

Cuphead has technically appeared on Nintendo Switch as well, but we’re still counting it as an Xbox One exclusive.

At launch, Xbox One didn’t have the best selection of games, but in the years that have followed some real crackers – both exclusive and multiplatform – have hit the console, bolstering its ever-expanding library.

Halo 5: Guardians is easily one of the best and a must for new adopters. Integrating one of the best single-player campaigns into the series’ most robust multiplayer offering, Halo 5 is a shooter fan’s dream land. And with no certainty that Halo Infinite will launch on Xbox One in 2020 , Halo 5 remains your one-stop shop for spartan battles on Switch.

Xbox One supports all the usual iterative sports simulators, including FIFA 19, Madden 19, NBA 2K19, NHL 19 and more. For shooter fans outside of Halo, Xbox One has Overwatch, Paladins, Fortnite, PUBG and all the recent Call of Duties and Battlefields. It’s not exactly short on multi-platform games.

Fortnite is free-to-play and is full of fun and enjoyable modes to enjoy alongside the usual battle royale matches.

On the exclusives front, Xbox One doesn’t have quite the firepower of PS4, but it does have plenty of memorable games such as Cuphead, Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 4 and more. There’s plenty more on the horizon, and you can play most if not all of them with a Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Enter The Xbox One S All

Microsoft has unveiled the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, it’s latest low-cost Xbox console. Doubling down on game downloads, the new console cuts $50 off entry-level Xbox one consoles by stripping down the console to its essential components and taking out the disc drive.

The Xbox One S All-Digital is primed for the modern online world, backed by Microsoft’s ever-growing integrated Microsoft Store for games, movies, TV, and more. Paired with Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft’s Netflix-style subscription service with over 100 games, the console is ideal for the convivence of digital landscape. While losing out on the benefits of physical media, it’s an overall promising addition filling a new hole in the Xbox lineup.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition retains a familiar white and black design, now streamlined without the drive and eject button. The console promises otherwise identical capabilities, including shared features, performance, games, and accessories with the existing Xbox One S from 2016. It merely acts as the latest entry-point into the Xbox gaming ecosystem, now at a lower price than ever before.

Xbox One Review: User Interface

You can pin your favourite games and apps to the Home screen for easy access and launch.

The New Xbox Experience, introduced at the tail end of 2015, is the new way of using Xbox One and it’s light years ahead of the Windows 8-based abomination early adopters had to endure for two years straight. The NXE is all about dividing all your content into four key sections – Home, Community, OneGuide and Store – with each one flowing much like a social media feed. Think of it like a rolling homepage with all the important functions on each tab accessible quickly with the minimum of fuss.

Games now have their own homepages known as Game Hubs – from here you flit between captures screenshots or video, see your Achievements and more. So the more you and your friend’s play, the more populated these Hubs become. Players now have an increased friends cap as well 1,000 friends and can also follow other players, in much the same way that they would on Twitter.

The Store expands into four individual sub menus when selected – Games, Apps, Movies & TV and Music – and once again, everything is represented by large thumbnails with all the important functions are all front and centre. For those that love browsing digital titles, this clean and fresh UI is a godsend.

The Xbox One UI has had a lot of changes over the years, but the current version is far more user-friendly than PS4’s.

Xbox One Console Release Date Set By Microsoft

Xbox One X In 2021! (Still Worth It?) (Review)

Microsoft will launch the Xbox One, its latest games console, on 22 November.

It will initially be available in 13 countries – UK, US, Ireland, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Brazil, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.

Remaining markets will follow in early 2014, the company confirmed.

The timing of the launch will mean it beats close rival Sony’s PlayStation 4 to the shelves in much of the world by one week.

The exception is North America, where Sony’s console will be available on 15 November.

The releases set up the first new console war since 2006, the last time both firms had fresh gaming machines on the market.

Xbox’s marketing vice-president, Yusuf Mehdi, announced the firm’s rollout plans in a statement.

“The culmination of many years of listening to you, our fans, developing innovative technology, and partnering with the best game and entertainment partners in the industry has brought us to this point,” he said.

“There is still a lot more work to do, but the teams are making excellent progress and are focused on launch.”

He confirmed that the console recently entered full production in preparation for the launch. Pre-orders had sold out faster than any of the company’s previous gaming products, Mr Mehdi said.

He also confirmed that the console’s CPU had been upgraded by around 10% – from 1.6Ghz to 1.75Ghz.

When Was The Xbox One Released

Microsoft released the Xbox One in November 2013, a more powerful system that addressed one of the most persistent flaws of the Xbox 360, which itself had replaced the original Xbox in 2005. A larger, better-ventilated housing, combined with more responsive cooling mechanisms, meant that the Xbox One would not be subject to the overheating issues that had plagued the earlier console.

Xbox, video game console system created by the American company Microsoft. The Xbox, Microsofts first entry into the world of console electronic gaming, was released in 2001, which placed it in direct competition with SonysPlayStation 2 and Nintendos GameCube.

Concerned about Sonys successful PlayStation console damaging the personal computer market, Microsoft initiated plans in 1999 to create its own console gaming system to both diversify its product line and capitalize on the thriving gaming industry. The systemoriginally termed the DirectX-box for its use of the eponymous video softwareunderwent multiple launch delays and several pricing adjustments after it made its debut. Despite popular titles such as Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, Microsoft reported in 2005 that it had thus far lost $4 billion from the Xbox enterprise.

Genshin Impact Still Refuses To Increase Anniversary Rewards Despite Fan Outcry

The PS5 and Xbox Series X are much bigger deals than those refreshes. But when they launch, it will look a lot more like those refreshes than a traditional generation.

In this new scenario, games work backwards and forwards, playing on older machines with graphical compromises and upgrades on newer machines. Much like in the world of cell phones, older machines will still get phased out, it just wont happen with the notion of generational sweep that it does now. So 3 years into the lifespan of the Xbox Series Xat which point we expect to have another Microsoft console in the mixgames will start getting released that wont run on the Xbox One S. A year later, we might see games that dont work on the Xbox One X. And so on.

Developers are ready for this. As Microsoft has noted, theyve been doing it for years with PC development: most new games can be souped up to 4K, 60FPS with raytracing or be turned way down to what Gamespot calls potato mode. And while most developers dont really want their games to look quite that bad on any hardware, they should be able to get games to run on a much wider variety of devices than they did in the past. One of the benefits of modern lighting-based graphical improvements like ray-tracing is that they can be turned off.

Xbox One S Controller

When Did The First Xbox 360 Come Out

In 2016, Microsoft released the console’s first revised model, the Xbox One S. In addition to a smaller console itself, the standard controller also saw an upgrade. While mostly similar to its predecessor, the Xbox One S controller added Bluetooth connectivity, allowing it to sync up with additional devices and with Windows-based PCs without the need for a wireless adapter. Available in white, black, and additional colors, the S controller would become the new standard for Xbox One consoles going forward. In 2019, iOS and Android added controller support for the bluetooth enabled Xbox One controllers.

Far From One And Done

But Microsoft doesn’t tend to stand still. So just less than three years later in August 2016, the Xbox One S was released. This took the original Xbox One and reworked it into a smaller box with an integrated power brick, as well as access to a 4K Blu-ray player and HDR support storage for it also went from 500GB to a healthy 2TB.

The Xbox One S was a far better prospect for Xbox fans, not least because it started at a much more appealing $299. As such, it wholly replaced the original Xbox One.

Backward compatibility was also brought in and expanded upon. When the Xbox One launched there was no native backward compatibility, meaning if people wanted to play old Xbox games on their Xbox One they needed to attach an Xbox 360 via the HDMI-In port.

But in 2015, Microsoft started working on backwards compatibility for the Xbox One. And its grown ever since, offering access to games that go as far back as the original Xbox this culminated in Microsoft adding a further 76 backward compatible games to the Xbox One. This approach is still seen today with the Xbox Series X and Series S comprehensive backward compatibility with features to make games run better like FPS Boost.

From there the Xbox One grew into a family of consoles. In 2017 the Xbox One X arrived, flipping things around and making an Xbox the most powerful console in the world.
