You Should Buy The Xbox Series X If

Youre already invested in the ecosystem: Microsoft is far more interested in players jumping into their ecosystem than the platform theyre playing on. That means, if youre already an active Xbox Game Pass subscriber and wish to take advantage of everything it has to offer, the Xbox Series X could be your next-gen console of choice.

You arent looking for something new: This sounds like a knock on the Xbox Series X, but it really isnt. Instead of introducing a new and risky venture such as the PS5, Microsoft has opted to refine the design elements of its older consoles and push them further than ever before. The interface and controller are largely unchanged, yet improved thanks to subtle enhancements and more powerful hardware.

Youre willing to wait for exclusives: Right now, Xbox Series X has no new first-party exclusives developed specifically for the platform. However, Microsoft has acquired countless new studios who will bear fruit in the coming years. Knowing this, early adopters will need to have patience before this console reaches its true potential.

When Will The Xbox Series X And Series S Be Easy To Find

The Xbox One

The Xbox Series X and Series S launched on November 10, 2020, and have been in short supply ever since. This supply shortage, which also affects Sonys PlayStation 5, PC graphics cards and other components, as well as microprocessors used in vehicle production and other electronics-based devices, is widespread, related to Covid-19 and other production problems, and is likely to persist throughout 2021. The Xbox Series S has recently become easier to find, though its often out of stock. We expect it will be difficult to find an Xbox Series X until some time in 2022.

Is Xbox One Dead

No. Its true that the Xbox one sold poorly compared to Sonys PlayStation 4, but in many ways the Xbox series X marks a shift in how Microsoft views the traditional console cycle. Rather than thinking in generations and hardware, the company is now focusing on providing ongoing access to games as a subscription service, similar to how Netflix or Spotify operates.

Game Pass is Microsofts on-demand games platform, giving players access to over 100 full games for a monthly fee. Microsoft is investing heavily in its subscription offering, snapping up large games publishers like Bethesda in a bid to bolster its library of titles and lure players away from Sonys rival PlayStation Now service.

Even the very latest games on Game Pass are designed to be compatible with previous consoles as well as next-generation ones, so that over time, owning the newest hardware becomes less important for the majority of players. Older generations of Xbox are expected to dodge the landfill for a while yet.

Lord Of The Rings: Gollum

New Xbox Store Update (Preview) – Let’s Check It Out

Platform: PS5, Xbox Series XRelease date: TBC 2022

Prepare yourself to become precious with Lord of the Rings: Gollum, a brand new game from Daedalic Entertainment where you play as, unsurprisingly, Gollum. Starting out in Barad-dûr, the Mordor fortress where Gollum is being held captive, the game will take you through plenty of Middle-Earth’s locations with promises of “giant, persistent environments, each harbouring several questlines and a range of friendly or unfriendly faces” – according to the developer in an interview with Edge magazine anyway. Aesthetically the game is inspired by Tolkien’s own drawings and plays out like a stealth-action-adventure game that takes advantage of Gollum’s dual personalities too.

To solve the problem, Xbox boss Phil Spencer recently told the ‘Major Nelson’ podcast that he’s asked chipmaker AMD to speed up production: “I was on the phone last week with Lisa Su at AMD , how do we get more? So its something that were constantly working on.”

If Microsoft can get its hands on more chips, it could potentially churn out more Xbox Series X and S consoles. The play seems to be paying off as more Xbox stock is now hitting shelves on both sides of the pond.

GameStop had a limited number of Xbox Series X and Series S bundles up for grabs but they’re now sold out. The Series X with an extra Carbon Black Wireless Controller, NBA 2K21, 3-month Game Pass and $20 Gamestop gift card would have set you back $694.

Will Xbox One Still Be Supported

When Will the Xbox One Be Obsolete? It looks as though Microsoft is going to continue supporting the Xbox One for some time, keeping the console from being obsolete. Although Xbox Series X/S devices will be the companys focus moving forward, Phil Spencer reveals that Xbox One support isnt going away.

Xbox Series S review

Its not unusual for console manufacturers to offer a couple of different hardware options at launch, but normally, the differences are minor. The PS3, for example, was initially available in two models. There was a version with a 60GB hard drive as well as a cheaper version with a smaller 20GB hard drive, no Wi-Fi support, and fewer ports. Meanwhile, Microsoft also originally sold a Core version of the Xbox 360 in 2005, which included compromises like including a wired rather than wireless controller and omitting a hard drive.

The differences between the Xbox Series S and Series X are more substantial and have a big impact on how games look. While Microsoft says the Series X is targeting running games at 60fps at a full 4K resolution, the Series S instead targets a lower 1440p resolution at 60fps. Its a big power disparity, similar to what we saw between the Xbox One and the Xbox One X, but this time, the two consoles were available on day one, rather than releasing years apart.

The Xbox Series X comes complete with a disc drive.Microsofts Series S is less powerful and digital-only.

In the console’e June 2019 announcement video, a Microsoft employee says “hundreds” of people inside and outside of Microsoft are already working on games for Xbox Series X.

The video also revealed “Halo Infinite” as a launch title for the next-gen Xbox console the next major entry in the decades-old “Halo” first-person shooter series.

The game has since been delayed to some time in 2021, and Microsoft has shifted focus to the console’s ability to play “thousands of games spanning four generations.”

The company has also announced a slew of upcoming post-launch games, including new “Forza” and “Fable” games, and “Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2.”

It’s safe to assume that major first-party game franchises, like “Gears of War,” are in production. Microsoft has said that “15 Xbox Game Studios are developing the largest and most creatively diverse lineup of Xbox exclusive games in our history” for the Xbox Series X.

Outside of Microsoft, at least two major next-gen games are in the works that we already know of: “The Elder Scrolls VI” and “Starfield,” both from Bethesda Softworks.

What Should I Play Halo Infinite On

Pretty much try to play Halo Infinite on whatever system you have handy! The game is a great return to form for the Halo franchise, trying to do something that the series has never done before with an open world structure. That does mean that the original Xbox One hardware now feels thoroughly underpowered, but its still a decent experience if its the gameplay that matters to you most Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have the option to try and play via Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Meanwhile, the Xbox One X does a good job in Performance mode and the Xbox Series X is simply sublime. If you have a gaming PC, then you can obviously push the game as hard as you want to meet you performance requirements.

Xbox Series X Review: Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass has been around for a while now, offering an easy way to get access to a suite of games for a rather affordable monthly price of $9.99 or £7.99. This has long made it one of the best bargains in the gaming world.

But I’d argue that Game Pass is an essential partner for the Xbox Series X. While the aforementioned launch line up of Xbox Series X games might be a little lacking, Game Pass provides a huge range of new and old games to play on the flagship console. Furthermore, many of these come with Xbox Series X and Series S enhancements, meaning the Xbox Series X is the best place to play such games you may have missed on the Xbox One.

Fork out $14.99 or £10.99 a month and you’ll get access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which provides access to Xbox and PC games, as well as cloud streaming and save syncing between all three platforms. It’s simply a fantastic deal.

What’s more a whole suite of upcoming Xbox One and Series X games will be released day-one on Game Pass, meaning its one of the most affordable ways to get new games.
