What Is The New Xbox Called In 2020

Xbox Series X Final Thoughts

*NEW* Xbox is CRAZY! (First Look)

The Xbox Series X is an unconventional next-generation console. It’s arriving with thousands of playable games from day one, each of which appears to play better than they ever have on console, but the broad appeal of that offering will likely depend on where your allegiances have been for the last generation.

If you’re returning home to Xbox after seven years with the PS4, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, and Sea of Thieves might be older titles, but with their optimisation for Xbox Series X, they look and feel as if they could have released yesterday. Similarly, other exclusives that are yet to receive optimisation patches Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Halo 5: Guardians, for example play wonderfully, as do games like Quantum Break and Rare Replay that were initially optimised for One X and are receiving huge free gains on the new hardware. If you’re new into Xbox, there’s plenty here for you to play.

Do You Have A Big Library Of Xbox One Games On Disc Or Have You Been Purchasing Games Digitally For The Past Decade

The vast majority of my games for the Xbox One were purchased digitally. Its easy for me to play these games on either new Xbox console. I just open my Games Library, find my old purchases, install them, and Im all set. I can even download my old save files from cloud storage for free via Xbox Live. Microsoft has done an exceptional job with backward compatibility.

That said, if most of your existing Xbox games are on discs, you will need an Xbox Series X and its disc drive to play them. Theres currently no way to trade a hard copy of an Xbox One game for a digital copy on the Series S. We have no reason to think that will change. However! If you plan to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, you may find that much of your old collection is available through the service. You can find an up-to-date list of Game Pass games on Microsofts official website. Just remember that third-party games regularly rotate in and out of the library.

Bloodstained: Curse Of The Moon 2

“That Easter egg owes both its story justification and its level of meta weirdness to Hachi, which is really what sets Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 apart. It’s still a classic Castlevania homage at heart, but it has an eccentricity that feels right at home alongside the giant kitty-cats of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. When a game seems to be having this much fun at its own expense, it’s hard not to join in.” — Steve Watts, Associate Editor

What Is The Xbox Series X Release Date In Australia

Microsoft has officially confirmed that the Xbox Series X will launch on 10 November 2020 in Australia. It will launch simmultanously with the Xbox Series S.

This beats out Sony’s PlayStation 5 by two days, as it launches on 12 November 2020. It’s a win for Microsoft that it has got its Xbox Series X console out before its rival, even if it’s marginal. The date is also well-timed to make the most of the lead-up to Christmas. The end-of-year buying frenzy is a key event to be a part of, not to mention it’s the start of the cold months for the Northern Hemisphere where more time inside is a given.

It should come as no surprise that the last three consoles in the Xbox family the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the original Xbox all released in November.

Things are heating up in the console war between the XSX vs PS5. Following on from a strong game reveal event from Sony in June 2020, Microsoft hit back in July 2020 with one of its own. With 100 games expected during the launch window, Xbox SX owners will have no shortage of experiences to jump into. Here are the best XSX games coming to the console.

Is Cyberpunk On Ps5 Better

While CD Projekt Red has yet to release Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS5, the PS4 game can be played on the newer console. The PS5, however, manages to make the game run just a little bit smoother and better compared to its predecessor, which can barely keep up with the games demanding graphics and size.

Xbox Series X Vs Xbox One X Games

With the Xbox Series X now available, there are some exciting titles available right now and on their way soon. Between first-party titles like Halo Infinite, Hellblade 2 and third-party blockbusters like Cyberpunk 2077 there are a growing number of Xbox Series X games you can play today and many that are coming in the future, though the Xbox Series X launch lineup isn’t as fleshed out as we’d like.

Some of the games that are out now or coming soon to Xbox Series X/S in the near future include:

You can see the full Xbox Series X launch lineup here or check out our Xbox Series X games list for the full list of confirmed Series X titles.

The Series Xs impressive specs in combination with the excellent value of Xbox Game Pass gives early adopters a ready-made library that benefits from faster load times, better graphics, and higher resolution.

Backwards compatibility is also excellent on the Xbox Series X. You can play hundreds of games from previous Xbox generations on your new system, including original Xbox titles, but Microsoft has gone a step further with Smart Delivery. Consider this forwards compatibility in the sense that when you buy a compatible game, its unlocked on all supporting hardware. For example, Cyberpunk 2077 supports Smart Delivery, so owners of the game on Xbox One X will benefit from a free upgrade to Xbox Series X.

New Playstation Is Called Playstation 5 And Will Arrive At The End Of 2020

The successor to the PlayStation 4 is officially called the PlayStation 5, and will be released around Christmas 2020. That’s what PlayStation designer Mark Cerny says to the American techtag Wired.

The successor to the PlayStation 4 is officially called the PlayStation 5, and will be released around Christmas 2020. That’s what PlayStation designer Mark Cerny says to the American techtag Wired .

Sony gave little details about the new game console last year. This gives the machine a fast solid state drive and a stronger Ryzen CPU.

But little was known about the name and the intended date. Now Sony confirms that the new PlayStation 5 will be released at the same time as the new Xbox: “holiday 2020”, so somewhere between October and December. It is not yet known how much the PlayStation 5 will cost.

The new console thereby receives a controller that gives the player more tangible feedback, and can also resist pressure if that makes sense to the gaming experience. For example, the tension of an arc will feel more realistic, and you can tell by the buttons when you walk through sand or mud, for example, Wired writes.

Auto Hdr On Xbox Series X

Xbox Series X – World Premiere – 4K Trailer

Like the Xbox One, the Xbox Series X allows for calibration of HDR for games. We’d advise setting this before playing any games, as it ensures the balance of contrast is spot-on, giving you the best visuals possible.

For our initial review, we primarily had access to a selection of backwards-compatible titles which are the best indicator of the boost in performance the Xbox Series X delivers over its last-gen counterparts. With the above settings enabled, we found that the games immediately looked better on the Xbox Series X which isn’t particularly surprising, given that Microsoft has implemented native HDR for these titles.

We go into detail as to how this performance boost improves Xbox Series X Optimized titles further down, but in short, when playing backwards-compatible titles on the Xbox One S and Xbox Series X versions side-by-side we could clearly see the visual upgrade.

How Much Is A Ps1

A used PS1 is worth between $36.00 $720.00 depending on condition and if the console ships as part of a bundle. The mighty PS1 remains one of the biggest behemoths of the gaming world. This console sold over 102 million units over its lifetime, which means that there are a lot of them out and about on the internet.

Crash Bandicoot : It’s About Time

“Even more so than playing the N.Sane Trilogy, which literally remade the original Crash games from my youth, playing Crash 4 felt like getting back in touch with the series. It’s an injection of new ideas into now-classic gameplay that surprises and delights, even as it feels like a homecoming. Truly, games like this are why we come running back to long-dormant franchises with open arms.” — Mike Epstein, Freelance Reviewer

Why The Xbox Series X Is 2020s Biggest Gaming Disappointment

It may look different, but the Xbox Series X is no great leap forward.

This post has been updated.

The Series X is the first major console release that feels like a small step for gaming, rather than a giant leap. Sure, loading times are lightning-quick framerates are largely superb dynamic lighting is on a whole new level. But has it delivered anything close to the awesome experience I built up in my head?

Nah. It just feels like a better Xbox One X.

Thanks to Microsofts platform-wide OS, a lack of optimized games, as well as the comparatively decent technical performance of the One X that came before it, theres nothing particularly stunning about the Series X in 2020, save for its monolithic design. It doesnt feel excitingjust an inevitable upgrade for gamers like me whove bought into the Microsoft gaming ecosystem.

It shouldnt be a surprise. This is the norm now. Id be willing to wager that plenty of PS5 owners are having the same feelings about their own new consoles, even if its the earliest days.

And yet, until now, these earliest days of playing a new console have always been the most memorable. Ive experienced the launches of four ground-breaking gaming generations prior to this one, going all the way back to the Genesis. Every single one has been awesome, in the truest sense of the word.

What About Xbox Series S

New Xbox releasing in 2020 and its being called Scarlet ...

Codenamed Project Lockhart, the Xbox Series S, is the cheaper, digital-only alternative to the new Xbox Series X.

The lower-cost console had been rumoured for a while along with the disc-less feature, and faster CPU. Think PS4 Pro without the disc dive. Microsoft has said that Xbox Series X will be part of a family of consoles and it seems they were true to their word.

Initial Unveiling And Launch

Industry rumors of new Xbox hardware had started as early as June 2018, with Microsoft’s Phil Spencer confirming they were “deep into architecturing the next Xbox consoles” at that time. The hardware was believed to be a family of devices under the codename “Scarlett,” including a low-cost version following a similar scheme as the Xbox One family of consoles, with major emphasis on game streaming and backward compatibility. By March 2019, further industry rumors had led to speculation of two consoles within the Scarlett family under codenames “Anaconda” and the low-cost “Lockhart” version.

Microsoft confirmed Project Scarlett at its E3 2019 press conference. Microsoft said they wanted a “soft” transition from Xbox One to Scarlett, with Scarlett supporting backward compatibility with all games and most hardware supported on the Xbox One. During a presentation at The Game Awards 2019, Microsoft officially revealed the design of Scarlett and its branding, “Xbox Series X,” as well as a late 2020 release date. Following the event, a Microsoft spokesperson stated that Xbox Series X constituted an entry in a fourth generation of Xbox hardware, which will be branded simply as “Xbox” with no subtitle.

On July 16, 2020, Microsoft announced that it had ended production of the Xbox One X and all-digital version of the Xbox One S in preparation for the new products.

Through The Darkest Times

“Through the Darkest of Times paints what feels like an accurate portrait of life in Nazi Germany. Cherry-picking major events, like the Reichstag Fire or the opening ceremony of the Olympics, it convincingly places you at the scene, putting you in the shoes of a regular German trying to come to grips with how one person–or even five people–can respond in the presence of evil. It depicts everyday life, and everyday people, both those seduced by ideology and those finding the strength to rally against it. I’m not sure it offers any answers–indeed, I suspect my frustrations with futility were intentional. One person alone can’t change the world. But that’s no reason not to fight for it.” — David Wildgoose, Freelance Reviewer

Quick Resume Acts Like The Ultimate Pause Button

Using their fast storage access, the Xbox Series X and Series S allow you to suspend almost any game by creating a snapshot of it in system memory. You can then start another game, watch a movie, or even turn off and completely unplug your console. The next time you start the game in question, itll pick up exactly where you left off. Its a lot like switching between open apps on a smartphone, and you can do it with several games at once. Games already boot up faster on the new consoles because of their storage speed, and if youre playing more than one thing, switching between games using quick resume saves a lot of time and frustration because you skip any menus and save/load screens that you might otherwise be forced to navigate. And in the few months weve been using the console, every time we boot up a game for the first time in weeks only to load up exactly where we left off in seconds is a delightful experience.

Initially, Quick Resume support was somewhat spotty, with several games encountering problems with the feature but recent patches have improved overall stability, though there are still occasional, unavoidable issues. For titles like the 2018 remaster of Dark Souls, which uses an always online server system, Quick Resume just about always results in a server disconnect, which will boot you to the title screen .

Xbox Series X Review: Price And Availability

Free Xbox One And Xbox 360 Games With Gold For February 2020 Revealed

Released worldwide on November 10, 2020, the Xbox Series X is nearing its first birthday, at the time of writing. And it’s still stupidly hard to buy.

We’ve been tracking Xbox Series X restocks for month upon months, and still most retailers are out of stock. When they do get new stock in, it sells out in moments. Sadly, with semiconductor shortages ongoing, it doesn’t look like the Xbox Series X restock situation will get any better before 2023.

If you do find an Xbox Series X in stock, then expect prices to start at $499 in the U.S. and £449 in the U.K. On paper at least, the Xbox Series X matches the price of the PS5 in those respective nations. However, its more expensive than the PS5 Digital Edition, which costs $399, or £349. But these consoles are often found in bundles that come with a higher ticket price. Speaking of that, if you have $10,000 to burn you could check out the Gucci Xbox Series X.

Do You Have A 4k Tv Or Do You Plan To Purchase One Soon If So Do You Want To Eke Out The Potential Of Every Pixel

If you dont own a 4K TV and have no plans to buy one in the next few years, I strongly recommend the Xbox Series S, which will still have enough power to look fantastic on your existing high-definition TV.

Alternately, if you have a 4K TV and really want to make the most out of 4K entertainment, you may want the Xbox Series X for its 4K Blu-ray player.

Xbox Series X Vs Series S Vs Ps5

$499/£449/499 $399/£349/399

The difference in power generally means early Series S and Series X games run at different resolutions but often perform similarly. For example, Watch Dogs: Legion targets 4K at 30fps on the Series X and 1080p 30fps on the Series S, and both support ray-tracing for better-looking reflections.

Similarly, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon run at 60fps at 1080p on the Series S, compared to 4K 60fps on the Series X.
