Ea Play On Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Microsoft and EA have been close for a long time now, with EA Access once exclusive on Xbox One. While the exclusivity is no more, what’s about to happen is something nobody expected.
EA Play, a subscription service on its own that allows access to a selection of EA’s vast back catalog of games, will become part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass for PC.
So with one single subscription to Game Pass Ultimate, you’ll not only have access to the Game Pass Library on both console and PC and Cloud Gaming, but soon EA’s subscription service, too.
If you didn’t already think that Game Pass Ultimate is the best value package in gaming, this pretty much seals it.
Best New Xbox Game Pass Games: December 2021
You’ll rarely go wrong with the diverse selection of games on Xbox Game Pass, but there are always a handful of titles that stand above the rest including but not limited to exceptional indie games, addictive multiplayer games, expansive AAA games, and Microsoft’s first-party games. These are the best new games that have recently arrived on Xbox Game Pass.
Remnant: From The Ashes
Remnant: From the Ashes is Dark Souls by way of Gears of War. Instead of animation-locked melee combat like in FromSoftwares titles, Remnant From the Ashes is a third-person shooter with a unique roster of bizarre guns. But despite the games much longer combat range, it manages to replicate the tension of the hyper-difficult games its developers were clearly inspired by. Its punishing, and you only have so many swigs of your health potion before you go down for good.
Remnant From the Ashes is for more than just masochists, though. As a game you can optionally play in co-op, it offers a major difficulty step up from playing Gears of War on the couch with your buddies. Each player is able to customize their loadout to help the group succeed. And when youre working together with your partner, it delivers one of the best campaign multiplayer experiences in recent memory.

Is Ea Play Included With Xbox Game Pass
Electronic Arts has its own games subscription service called EA Play. This grants you unlimited access to some of the company’s most-loved games, like The Sims 4 and Star Wars: Squadrons.
You also get early access to select new EA releases for up to 10 hours of play time, plus a 10% discount if you decide to purchase the full game.
EA Play is included in the PC and Ultimate memberships of Xbox Game Pass, for no additional cost. It’s also available separately direct from EA, if you don’t want the other benefits of the Xbox Game Pass.
Wolfenstein: The New Order
|File Size||44 GB|
Looking at screenshots of Wolfenstein: The New Order, it would be easy to mistake it for a modern-day retreading of the 1980s corridor shooters its predecessors popularized. However, The New Order set the stage for a 21st-century version of Wolfenstein that lives up its lineage and forges a new path for the series. It matches the smooth gunplay id Software fans expect with a dusting of RPG tropes , and the whole package comes together exceptionally well. The WWII alternate history narrative expertly switches between the ultra-violence and bombast id Software is known for and somehow manages to tie into an emotional core with a beautifully drawn cast of characters. The latest series of Wolfenstein games are easily some of the best single-player first-person shooters available today, and The New Order is the best place to start.

When Are New Games Added To Xbox Game Pass
There’s no set schedule for when new games get added. Microsoft simply state that they “are added all the time.” However, it is a guarantee that Xbox Game Studio titles will be available at launch. This includes all the subsidiary developers like Mojang, Obsidian, Ninja Theory, Rare, and Double Fine.
Unlike something like PlayStation Plus, where the monthly games forever remain in your library as long as you’re subscribed, Xbox Game Pass only lets you play those in its current catalog. As it can remove titles over time, if you’re halfway through one, you’ll have to purchase it in order to carry on playing. Microsoft offers discounts on titles affected by this.
Resident Evil : Biohazard
|File Size||22 GB|
In a marvelous return to form, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard terrifies players with a mix of hideous creatures to contend with and tense moments of resource management. Rather than buckling down with the more action-oriented setpieces of its predecessors, Biohazard grounds players in a single location for the majority of the game. As Ethan Winters, you must navigate your way through the peril-riddled and decrepit Baker house in search of your missing wife, Mia. The games switch to first-person perspective from the Resident Evil franchises typical third-person viewpoint is a gamble that pays off as players now have to deal with monsters face-to-face, in a very literal sense.

Former Xbox Exec Says Hes Scared Of Game Passs Potential Impact
Ed Fries compares the services potential impact to Spotifys: People just dont buy songs any more
Former Microsoft exec Ed Fries has expressed concern over the potential impact the companys Game Pass subscription service could have on the games industry.
Speaking as part of a wider interview with Xbox Expansion Pass, Fries who was part of the original Xbox launch team before his departure in 2004 was asked what he would do were he still part of Microsofts gaming team today.
Fries didnt give an explicit answer but said that he was scared of the impact Game Pass could have, should it become a dominant business model like Spotify has in the music industry. He also made broad claims about Spotifys impact on the music industry, some of which have been disputed by experts.
Xbox Game Pass launched in June 2017 and has become central to Microsofts gaming business, offering members access to over 100 titles for a monthly subscription fee.
As of January 2022, Game Pass has over 25 million subscribers, according to Microsoft, so it still has a long way to go before it reaches the level of Spotify and Netflix . In fact, it was recently estimated that subscription services account for just 4% of annual games revenues in Europe and North America, compared to 65% of global music revenues.
How Many Games Are Available
So Xbox Game Pass is pretty simple: For $10 per month, you get access to a catalog of games and you can download and play them all you want on your Xbox One.
What makes or breaks a service like this is the selection of games. As of July 12, 2017, there are 119 games available in the catalog. They arent all Xbox One games. In fact, the majority of them are Xbox 360 games that you can play on your Xbox One through the backwards compatibility feature.
You will see some big-name games here. Youll find five games from the Gears of War series, Halo 5: Guardians, all three BioShock games, NBA 2K16, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected, and more. But the list is rounded out with older Xbox 360 games and smaller indie games. That doesnt mean theyre bad, but you certainly arent getting all the latest full-price Xbox One games. You can view the full list of Xbox Game Pass games on Microsofts website. Microsoft adds new games every month.

All You Need To Know About Xbox Game Pass Including Subscription Plan And Price Breakdown
A subscription-based gaming platform, more or less, seemed like a fever dream until Microsoft introduced theirs in 2017. Concerns regarding developer payout, price distribution, and overall games catalogue were in full force at the time, though it eventually died down as more and more people got access to it.
The feature was only available to owners of the Xbox console in its early stages, offering backwards compatibility for select 360 titles in addition to its vast pool of games. The companys business model has thrived since then expanding onto PC, bringing first-party titles on launch day, and partnering with brands to offer a 30-day free trial.
Xbox Game Pass: Everything You Need To Know
Xbox Game Pass is so far the best Netflix for video games option available on the market and with good reason. Major console and PC games are getting more and more expensive. The retail price for major Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 games is now reaching $70. With Game Pass, you can instantly unlock over 100 games to play on your PC or console for one small monthly fee.
So what is Xbox Game Pass and what does it have to offer? Weve outlined everything you need to know in this in-depth explainer. Note that we also have a separate guide for its more expensive brother, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Xbox Game Pass For Pc
Xbox Game Pass for PC works exactly like it does on the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. You get access to over 200 games every month and exclusive deals if you want to keep any of them after their removal. There are unique games on each platform, though much of the library does cross over. Almost all of Xbox’s first-party titles are available on PC, including Gears Tactics.
Game Pass for PC offers quite a few titles that many would consider better on PC. These include games like Age of Empires Definitive Edition, Metro Exodus, and Prey. Of course, some games only come to console, even if they do have a great PC version. Microsoft’s Game Pass announcements are always marked accordingly, so it’s easy to tell what each platform is getting every month.

Xbox Game Pass 2021 Review: What’s Great
This first reason will come as no surprise: games. Games, games, games, and more games. Xbox Game Pass, unsurprisingly, is full of video games, of all shapes and sizes, all types and genres, budgets big and small for all sorts of people.
Microsoft adds all of its games day and date to Xbox Game Pass, including their biggest upcoming titles like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5. This shows a great deal of commitment and consistency towards the platform, in a similar way to how Netflix and Disney+ build up their service with exclusive “original” content.
There’s literally something for everyone on offer here.
A lot of the games Microsoft builds for Xbox Game Pass also enjoy ongoing updates. Titles like Sea of Thieves, State of Decay, Minecraft Dungeons, and others are getting a very large amount of post-launch support. You have to wonder to what extent Xbox Game Pass is funding the budgets for these efforts, given that keeping people engaged in your titles will also keep people engaged with your subscription service.
In terms of sheer entertainment hours-per-cost value, Xbox Game Pass is unbeatable.
Xbox Game Pass not only has me falling in love with new games but entire new studios, given that I now want to follow their work and future games. Game Pass isn’t just a vehicle for gaming, but also fandom, which is one area of the platform I think Microsoft could improve for developers in some ways.
Xbox Game Pass For Xbox Series X
The first subscription to consider is Xbox Game Pass for console, which encompasses Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. With it, you get access to a library of over 340 games, including all first-party Xbox titles as soon as they launch–in some cases, you even get the Ultimate edition of each game. At the moment, these include excellent exclusives like Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4, and Sea of Thieves as well as newer games like Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Grounded, and Gears Tactics. Classic games from series like Gears of War and Halo are also available through Game Pass.
New games are added and removed all the time. That means you lose access to some games once they leave Game Pass, but thankfully, all Game Pass subscribers get discounts on every game included with the service. Microsoft lets users know which games are leaving, giving you a chance to snag them at a discount before they’re gone. First-party games like Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4 don’t generally get removed, so you don’t have to worry about losing access to them. We’ve also highlighted the games we think you should play first in our guide to the best Xbox Game Pass games.

Game Pass Vs Game Pass Ultimate
Below is a chart of the key differences between Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate.
|Game Pass Subscription Tiers Compared|
|Xbox Live Gold||X|
The standard Game Pass subscription is available for Xbox and PC separately, though Game Pass Ultimate will give you access to both libraries. To see and redeem Xbox Game Pass perks, you’ll need to redeem them through your Xbox, Xbox Game Pass mobile app, or on the PC Xbox app.
The Elder Scrolls Iii: Morrowind
|File Size||1 GB|
Leading with the obvious, it cant really be said that Morrowind has aged gracefully the graphics are more than a bit rough, and the UI can seem unapproachable to the uninitiated. However, its a distinct bit of old-school RPG charm that nicely emphasizes why The Elder Scrolls become an industry powerhouse, and its sure to settle your retro urges. Morrowind can certainly be a bit harsh, but its difficult to find a more immersive title in the Elder Scrolls series. With precious little in the way of fast travel and quest markers, players must really plot their journey from point A to point B when puzzling out a quest. The nearly-alien landscape and architecture of Vvardenfell feels atypical of average fantasy trappings, and the relatively unforgiving nature of its open-world and combat encounters can create a real sense of danger. Its absolutely worth a trip, especially if youre a fan of Skyrim thats never ventured into the older titles.
