Wild Card: A Portable Xbox
We decided to throw in a potential handheld Xbox as a wild card option. There havent been any credible rumours about this, besides unverified Tweets by self-acclaimed leakers, but this does seem like the perfect opportunity for Xbox to finally release a gaming portable.
With Xbox Game Pass now supporting xCloud, its possible to play the likes of Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 via the cloud from a smartphone. But Microsoft could potentially go one step further, releasing a more ergonomic form factor for on-the-go gaming. Depending on the specs, it could run AAA games via the cloud, and less demanding titles natively.
You could make the argument that Xbox doesnt really need to launch its own portable device to encourage gamers to play Game Pass on the go. After all, the upcoming Steam Deck already supports Game Pass, while we can also expect plenty more third-party gaming portables to arrive with Game Pass support in the near future thanks to the emergence of Snapdragons gaming chip.
But the prospect of Xbox launching its own gaming portable is nevertheless exciting. This probably wont happen in 2022, if at all, but can you blame us for dreaming?

New Nintendo Switch Exclusive Coming To Xbox Consoles This Month
One of the Nintendo Switch’s newest exclusive games is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X this month. 2021 was a fairly quiet year from the Nintendo Switch in terms of exclusive, at least compared to previous years. Meanwhile, Xbox had a huge year with the likes of both Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite both releasing, and now it’s about to kick off 2022 by getting one of Nintendo Switch’s 2021 exclusive games, but it’s not the most notable exclusive game.
No, Xbox fans aren’t getting Metroid Dread. Metroid is firmly a Nintendo series. What Xbox fans are getting is Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S, which is coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X on January 19. It will cost $13.99, unless you pre-order. If you buy the game early, you can nab it for $11.19.
Hatsune Miku Logic Paint S debuted back on March 18, 2021 via Crypton Future Media. Many expected it to come to PlayStation consoles and PC next, but for now, it’s coming to Xbox and PC, and there’s no word of it coming to PlayStation consoles.
For now, it remains to be seen how the Xbox port will be. Typically there’s only ever concerned when it’s a game getting a Switch port given the console’s underpowered innards, however, while power shouldn’t be an issue on Xbox and PC, things like UI and controls could be.

The Vale: Shadow Of The Crown
Developer Falling Squirrel’s The Vale: Shadow of the Crown is a fascinating take on an action-RPG as you play as a princess who is blind. Since you can’t see anything, you have to do all the stuff traditionally associated with RPGs–fighting enemies, stealthily sneaking past guards, firing a bow, and walking through markets–all via sound. You have to listen to enemies shuffling around you and exhaling as they swing a sword to know where and when to parry and attack, or pick out the clanging of a blacksmith’s hammer amidst a busy market to figure out where to go to shop for new armor. It’s an incredibly unique experience. The Vale: Shadow of the Crown is available for Xbox One and PC.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Okay, admittedly, this is cheating. 343 Industries’ Halo: The Master Chief Collection isn’t one game, it’s six–Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4. But if you’re looking for a story-driven, sci-fi military drama with excellent first-person arena shooter mechanics, Halo is king. Few shooter franchises have had the impact that Halo has, and The Master Chief Collection is the ideal way of experiencing that story from the beginning, regardless of whether you want to play from the series’ start of Halo: Combat Evolved or the chronological start of Halo: Reach. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Are There Going To Be Any First
Microsoft said it won’t release any exclusive Xbox Series X games at launch from its roster of first-party studios – with big hitters such as Halo Infinite also releasing on Xbox One and PC.
“As our content comes out over the next year, two years, all of our games, sort of like PC, will play up and down that family of devices,” Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty explained to MCV.
“We want to make sure that if someone invests in Xbox between now and that they feel that they made a good investment and that we’re committed to them with content.”
This makes sense when you take into account Microsoft’s drive to see Xbox as more of a service – with many first-party games in recent years having cross-save and cross-platform play across Xbox One and PC.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade Ii
During the 2019 Game Awards, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was shown off with a stunningly dark and atmospheric trailer.
Although we don’t know much about the game itself or its release date, you can only assume Ninja Theory will be looking to surprise their fans once more with another take on mental health issues and a thought-provoking story. Whether or not it sees its release this year remains to be seen, but it will be on Game Pass whenever it launches.

Xbox Game Pass Streaming Stick And Tv App
Speaking of Xbox Game Pass, its inevitable that Microsoft will continue to make its subscription service even more tempting in 2022. Weve got our fingers crossed that well get a 4K tier for Game Pass, but Microsoft has given no indications that will happen soon.
However, Xbox has already confirmed that a new Game Pass app will soon be available on various smart TVs, allowing subscribers to play on their big screen without the need of a console, as long as youve got a fast internet connection. It also looks like an Xbox streaming stick could launch, allowing you to access Game Pass on your TV, even if it doesnt support the app.
Microsoft hasnt confirmed that the streaming stick and TV app will launch in 2022, but the company has been hinting that its close to release for a while now. Wed be very surprised if we had to wait until 2023 for both of the releases, so 2022 looks to be a very safe bet.

That’s a pretty great list and it gets even more exciting when you realise that all of these games are coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Also, keep in mind that Xbox probably have even more surprises for 2022. There’s certainly some unannounced stuff that the publisher plan to release in 2022, like the rumoured game of Obsidian’s Josh Sawyer for example.
And there are Xbox Game Pass deals with third-party publishers so if you own Xbox or PC, there are plenty of reasons to be excited in 2022 when it comes to Xbox’s output.

Ark 2 Will Bring A Survival Sandbox To Xbox In 2022
ARK 2 is the highly-anticipated sequel to ARK: Survival Evolved. It was announced at The Game Awards 2020 where a cinematic trailer for the game was shown. Like its predecessor, ARK 2 is a survival sandbox game that features a prehistoric environment, filled with dinosaurs.

The game, which takes place after the events of Genesis: Part 2, has been surrounded by speculation over actor Vin Diesels involvement. Studio Wildcard released a trailer for ARK 2 starring Vin Diesel, but hell also be an executive producer for the game and the upcoming ARK animated series. While ARK 2 wont stray too far from the first ARK game, fans can look forward to next-gen graphics and gameplay. ARK 2 is set to be released in 2022, but no exact release date is confirmed. Microsoft picked up ARK 2 as an Xbox Exclusive, but its not yet known if the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass.
Xbox Losing Two Exclusive Games To Ps4 And Ps5
Xbox is losing two console exclusive games to PS4 and PS5. Xbox isn’t known for its exclusive games like PlayStation and Nintendo are, but that’s slowly changing. For example, just in the last month, two of some of the biggest games of the year, Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5, have been released as Xbox console exclusives, and between upcoming games like Hellblade II, The Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield, Indiana Jones, Avowed, Perfect Dark, and Fable, Xbox is closing the gap on PlayStation and Nintendo. That said, in the meanwhile, it’s actually losing two console exclusives.
The first of these two games is The Ascent, a cyberpunk-themed isometric action RPG developed by Neon Giant and published by Curve Digital. It was released back in July via the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. And while the game failed to overly impress critics — garnering Metacritic scores ranging from 68 to 73, depending on the platform — it found a player base that has championed the title. Right now, the game hasn’t been confirmed for PS4 and PS5, but it was rated for these platforms in Taiwan, so an official announcement is not only inevitable but likely coming soon.
Below, you can read more the pair of games and check out a trailer for each game as well:
The Ascent: “The Ascent is a solo and co-op Action-shooter RPG set in a cyberpunk world. The mega corporation that owns you and everyone, The Ascent Group, has just collapsed. Can you survive without it?”

Below is a list of some of our most anticipated upcoming Xbox games, listed in alphabetical order.

Will The Next Fallout Game Be Xbox Exclusive
Its easy to say that the post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout would go the same way as Elder Scrolls due to its popularity – but the series recent missteps could spell an exclusivity deal for a return to the wasteland. Fallout 76 tore Bethesda fans faith to shreds, offering fans a full-price disaster that was hardly playable and intensely unenjoyable. The charm of the world was gone, and in its place was a micro-transaction-laden splatter of lost hope and carelessness that not even comprehensive updates and patches could remedy.
The series still has its fans, as it has produced some of the best RPGs the 21st century has seen yet, but now its future is uncertain. Bethesda need to pull out something magnanimous to give fans faith again, and to do so, itd have to be available on as many consoles as possible, ruling out an Xbox exclusivity deal. If the company tried on a similar experimental approach to Fallout 76 or brought out another spinoff as they did with Fallout Shelter, maybe Xbox can claim ownership, but until Fallout can prove itself again, it should be open to the people.
Xbox Exclusives Confirmed For 2022
The rest of Xbox’s 2022 exclusive slate is pretty promising, even if the games don’t have fully confirmed release dates yet. For example, Shredders, the extreme sports snowboarding game is set to release sometime in February. This game won’t be for everyone, but fans of the old SSX or Amped series are sure to get a kick out of the fast-paced action of the game.
Warhammer 40K: Darktide is coming to Xbox Series X/S and Windows sometime during the Spring, bringing all of the franchise’s wonderful grim and dark atmosphere to the 4-player co-op genre. With gameplay similar to Back 4 Blood and Left 4 Dead, and coming from the same developers as the incredibly fun Warhammer: Vermintide, Darktide is going to make a great addition to the Game Pass service.
Coming hot off the heels of Deathloop, one of the best games of 2021, Arkane Studios is also throwing its hat into the co-op FPS ring with Redfall. This vampire shooter uses an open-world design and a character class system to stand out from the other 4-player co-op survival games on the market. Hopefully Arkane will knock it out of the park once more and deliver a truly engaging Xbox exclusive for Summer 2022.
A first-person horror game that oozes with disturbing visual style, Scorn is set to release in October 2022. With beautifully haunting environments heavily inspired by Alien‘s H.R. Giger, Scorn is definitely a game sci-fi horror fans should keep an eye out for.

Redfall Will Release On Xbox Game Pass Summer 2022
While co-op looter shooter games are a dime a dozen, Arkane Austins Redfall has one thing that sets it apart from games in the genre: vampires. Redfall is an upcoming first-person shooter action-adventure game that players can enjoy in either single-player mode or with up to three friends in co-op mode. Announced during the Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 showcase earlier this year, Redfall is set in the fictional island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, an open-world environment overrun with vampires that attack the towns inhabitants. The game is set to be released in Summer 2022 and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from the day of its release.
