Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderis the best lightsaber game of the modern era. Developer Respawn lovingly combines heavy exploration , with a more nuanced battle system in the vein of God of War or Dark Souls. The game takes place in the fallout of Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, and puts players in the role Cal Kestis an untrained Jedi Padawan. With subtle touches like using Cals lightsaber as a flashlight or customizing its hilt, Fallen Order feels like a 21st-century love letter to the Star Wars toys and action figures of decades past. Xbox Game Pass Suffers Big Loss Of 8 Games

Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers have lost eight different games across Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and the PC, including a couple of AAA games. This week, the subscription service added more than eight games, making this big loss swallowable, but if you notice a couple of games missing it’s because many departed the subscription service this week, which means they are also no longer available to buy with a 20 percent discount for subscribers.

As always, there’s no word when or if any of these games will return. None of them are very major games, which plays against the odds of them returning in the future, but games do leave and come back, though it’s not common and again, it’s usually more popular games that players would want to see return a second time.

Upcoming Games Launching On Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft gives us updates on games heading to Xbox Game Pass a few weeks before those games become available, usually twice a month. However, Xbox and ID@Xbox events toss aside this expectation to announce a flurry of games that are hitting Xbox Game Pass day and date, meaning they’re launching into the service when they land on Xbox platforms. That means day one access to all of these games for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, including some of the best upcoming Xbox games.

Many of these games are far enough out that they don’t even have a release date, and we’re not certain exactly which platforms they’ll come to through Xbox Game Pass. How Much Does Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Cost

Xbox Games Pass Ultimate is priced at $14.99/£10.99 a month. You can cancel at any time.

As mentioned, it includes Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Games Pass for PC and EA Play. Plus, Microsoft’s cloud service, Cloud Gaming, is part of Ultimate at no extra cost.

The standard console-only version of Games Pass doesn’t include Gold, EA Play, Cloud Gaming or the PC version. It costs $9.99/£7.99 a month. It’s the same price for the PC-only version when subscribed to separately. Ultimate is clearly the better deal.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man Of Medan

Man of Medan is a campy horror movie brought to life by light gameplay elements. From the makers of Until Dawn , this particular scary story centers around a group of teens who come across a haunted ship while sailing the Pacific Ocean. It does not go well. Needless to say, Man of Medan is an absolute blast to play with friends, and it takes this co-op experience one step further by creating custom control options for friends playing remotely or in person. The online play dynamically shows players different cutscenes and events depending on whether or not the characters are together or apart. It’s a really effective trick and a great way to enjoy a cheesy horror flick.

Ea Play On Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Microsoft and EA have been close for a long time now, with EA Access once exclusive on Xbox One. While the exclusivity is no more, what’s about to happen is something nobody expected.

EA Play, a subscription service on its own that allows access to a selection of EA’s vast back catalog of games, will become part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass for PC.

So with one single subscription to Game Pass Ultimate, you’ll not only have access to the Game Pass Library on both console and PC and Cloud Gaming, but soon EA’s subscription service, too.

If you didn’t already think that Game Pass Ultimate is the best value package in gaming, this pretty much seals it.

Xbox Game Pass For Pc Is Now Just ‘pc Game Pass’

Microsoft has rebranded one of its game subscription services. Xbox Game Pass for PC is now just PC Game Pass.

The move could help to avoid some confusion, since Xbox Game Pass is a separate plan with a different library of games. It should also be clearer that games on the PC plan aren’t necessarily playable on consoles.

PC Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass includes more than 100 console games, with Xbox Game Studios titles joining on release day. PC Game Pass has its own selection of games, including first-party titles and access to EA Play.

Meanwhile, Game Pass Ultimate offers the best of both worlds. It includes PC and console games, Xbox Live Gold , EA Play access and cloud gaming.

The PC Game Pass logo still includes an Xbox icon, though. That makes the connection to Xbox and Microsoft clear, but some folks might still call it “Xbox PC Game Pass.” C’est la vie.

Meanwhile, Microsoft revealed a few more games are coming to PC Game Pass on their release day: Sniper Elite 5, Pigeon Simulator, the gorgeous-looking samurai side-scroller Trek to Yomi and an unannounced Hugecalf Studios game.

Also, for a limited time, YouTube Premium members can get three months of PC Game Pass access for free. As notes, Google is sending the invitation to subscribers via email. The US-only offer is available until the end of the year.

Though the walking simulator genre is not for everyone, What Remains of Edith Finch is an undeniably unique experience. Edith Finch returns to her old family home to uncover the secrets behind a family curse. While she explores the rooms of the creaky and gargantuan Finch house, she chases after the stories of her deceased family members. Players are treated to a smorgasbord of experiences as they dive into the memories of the Finch family. Scenarios are played out that will delight and shock players as they are taken through both lighthearted adventures full of imaginative magic and narratives that evoke an ineffable sense of cathartic despondency quite unlike anything else in the medium.

Xbox Game Pass For Pc Finally Has A Sensible Name

There are three versions of Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription: Xbox Game Pass, which gets you console games, Xbox Game Pass for PC, which gets you PC games, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which gets you access to both the console and PC libraries, plus the benefits of Xbox Live Gold.

It’s a little confusing. The sequence of words “Xbox Game Pass for PC” only makes sense if you accept the premise that all games are Xbox games, and some Xbox games can be played on PC. It’s like calling PC Gamer “Xbox Gamer for PC.”

In the Game Awards skit embedded above, Microsoft announced today that it’s finally giving its PC subscription service a more sensible name. It’ll now be called “PC Game Pass.”

I already feel lighter after having typed it out once. PC Game Pass. Ah, much better.

I was able to accept that there’s an Xbox app on the PC, and that we had to type out “Xbox Game Pass for PC,” but only because Microsoft finally started putting all its Xbox exclusives on PC, which earned it a lot of goodwill after its various disasters, such as Games for Windows Live. But I didn’t like it.

Between this announcement and an appearance from Remedy’s Sam Lake, it’s been a decent Game Awards for me.
