What Does The New Xbox Controller Look Like

Don't Miss

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Games

Scuf One Unboxing and First Look – Scuf Gaming XBOX ONE Controller

This new console generation is unlike any other, in that for all but a tiny number of cases, you don’t need to buy a new console in order to play the new games.

In fact, to the best of our knowledge, there’s not a single Xbox Series X game that can’t also be played on Xbox One. If there’s one that we’ve missed somehow, it’s not one that’s worth playing.

It’s almost the same story with the PS5, but not quite. While practically every game available on the PS5 is also available on PS4, there are currently three notable exceptions in the form of the free/pre-installed Astro’s Playroom, the new and excellent remake of Demon’s Souls, and the spectacular-if-shallow Godfall.

The Xbox Series X also suffers slightly when you look at which new games are available to only one of the next-gen consoles. Of the new games released at the tail-end of 2020, none of note can be played on Xbox Series X and not on PS5. The high-profile delay of Halo Infinite has proved very costly.

That’s not to say that the PS5 is flooded with exclusives, but the three mentioned above, plus the excellent Spider-Man: Miles Morales, are easily some of the best PS5 games and give it an easy win in this regard.

Ultimately, this is a very tricky round to call. The PS5 wins in terms of exclusives both new and existing, but the Xbox Game Pass really is an amazing offering. We’re calling it a draw.

Xbox Two Release Date

Analysts have already suggested that there could be a new Xbox console within five years. This is an intriguing prospect, as traditionally the lifecycle of a console has been roughly a decade. But it has already been asserted that both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are somewhat underpowered. And given that virtual reality technology is on the horizon as well, it is certain that both corporations will want to upgrade their console technology and produce a new machine much more quickly than in previous console generations.

Does The Xbox One Controller Work On The Xbox Series X

After a long run, the Xbox One’s time came to an end last November, with Microsoft ushering in the next console generation with the launch of the Xbox Series X console. One of the big features of the Series X the console’s backwards compatibility as they encourage people to remain within the Xbox ecosystem, and the same can be said with regards to controllers.

Past console generations have completely abandoned the hardware of their predecessors, but Microsoft have already confirmed that all official Xbox One controllers will continue to function on both the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S.

This is obviously fantastic news if you already own an Xbox One, and if you’ve been on the fence about a new controller because you weren’t sure if you’d still be using it once you moved to the Series X, you can now rest easy! Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Controllers

Both consoles come with natty new controllers, but there’s no denying that the PS5’s new DualSense is the more significant and, ultimately, better of the two.

While most are unlikely to see or even feel the difference, the new Xbox controller is a little smaller than its predecessor, which should make it easier for younger and smaller gamers.

The underside is more prominently textured, too, and that mottled effect has also found its way to the surfaces of the two trigger buttons these are matte rather than glossy, and curve to a less prominent peak. Overall, the new controller is a little easier to grip and more ergonomically advanced, which can only be good.

On the face of the controller is a new Share button, inspired by that of the PS4s DualShock 4. Tap the button to instantly save a screenshot, hold it down for a couple of seconds to capture the last 29 seconds of gameplay. The d-pad, meanwhile, has been tweaked to resemble that of the Elite Controller Series 2. This makes it more useful for games that require sweeping actions , without overly sacrificing the positivity of presses up, down, left or right.

The Series X controller is better than the already excellent controller before it, but not drastically so. We wouldnt recommend rushing out to replace your controllers, and you dont need to either: Xbox One controllers work just fine with the Series X.

Heres What An Xbox Series X Controller Looks Like Without Skin

Razer Made A PS4 Controller That Looks Like An Xbox One ...

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

By Ben Bayliss

Recently weve seen what appears to be leaked Xbox Series X controller packaging which seemed to confirm the existence of another version of the next-generation console, the Xbox Series S. Then there were also more images of the controller packaging that seems to point to a November 6 release date for the upcoming console. But what about what the inside of the controller looks like?

Brad Sams, an Executive Editor of BWW Media Group, of an Xbox Series X controller with its outer casing removed, giving us a look at its innards. As you can see from his image below, the controller doesnt really show many differences from the Xbox One controllers insides.

Of course, the D-Pad is different, and theres the added button smack bang in the middle of the controller, but otherwise, its unchanged from what I can see. The rumbles dont appear to be at all any different, and the buttons are the same. The logos updated obviously, and there appears to be screws and bits and bobs in slightly different areas. I suppose the saying goes if it aint broke, dont fix it.

So while theres not much to see, its clear that PlayStation is taking a more dramatic route in terms of peripherals with the larger, bulkier, DualSense controller. That controller will see adaptive triggers, new buttons, haptic feedback, an internal microphone, and a fancy-pants touchpad.

Playstation 5 Dualsense Controller

Much to our surprise, Sony has rebranded their PlayStation controller. However, in retrospect, we probably should have anticipated it.

Sonys DualShock series of controllers goes back to the first PlayStation, and the series name comes from the new feature that wasnt present in the PlayStation controllers that came before it rumble.

Now that Sony is replacing the traditional rumble with more accurate haptic feedback, it made sense to slap a fresh, marketable new name on the new controller, and so we have the PlayStation DualSense instead of the DualShock 5.

The haptic feedback is the most drastic step forward for the DualSense, as it promises to improve the gaming experience with its precise tactile feedback greatly. However, it remains to be seen whether developers will make the most of this new characteristic. In the past, many of the major new features introduced in Sonys controllers ended up feeling more like gimmicks that were only really experimented with by first-party developers, and we hope that that wont be the case this time around.

Now, the redesign is probably the most striking aspect of the DualSense. The two-toned black and white design isnt something that were used to seeing in standard console controllers, and we cant help but feel that the DualSense looks a lot like an aftermarket DualShock 4. So, as you might expect, the response has been mixed. Some seem to love it, others seem to hate it, but few people seem to be indifferent to the change.

The Xbox Series X Controller Is Great So Far

Along with theXbox Series X, Microsoft sent GamesBeat the new Xbox controller. This gamepad comes with the next-gen hardware, but you can, of course, also purchase it separately for $60. And you are probably thinking that this controller looks a lot like the last one, and youre right. Xboxs designers kept the same general look, but that doesnt mean it kept the same feel. Microsoft made a number of subtle changes that all result in making this the best Xbox controller .

Most people probably wont notice any major differences when picking up the new Xbox controller, but I did. And youd definitely feel some of the changes if you pick up one right after the other. And to me, this is the right decision. The Xbox gamepad is already great, but Microsoft decided to find ways to make it better. And most of those changes relate to making the same general shape fit better into a wider variety of hands.

Xbox designer Ryan Whitaker said in March that Microsoft focused on the average 8-year-olds hands. It found that they could improve ergonomics for millions of people without sacrificing comfort for other hand sizes. And I think it succeeded.

Can Xbox Controllers Connect To Bluetooth On Pc

Unboxing the Xbox Series X

Xbox controllers can connect to Bluetooth. If you notice, the x in the Xbox logo is different, and the wrapping is significantly different. This will determine if your controller is capable of connecting or not. From the Xbox website:

On Bluetooth-supported controllers, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the face of the controller. On controllers without Bluetooth, the plastic around the Xbox button is part of the top, where the bumpers are.

What Does The New Xbox Controller Look Like Colors Features Price For Xbox Series X

The next-gen controller for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S hasn’t gotten the same level of attention as its Playstation counterpart its improvements are less radical but it’s still a refined version of what came before it. As usual, some people will prefer it simply because of its size and grip other users will get on-board this year because of the updated ease-of-use features.

Microsoft’s production of computers and Android devices mean the Xbox controller is compatible beyond the new console. It comes in three colors and includes a remodeled D-pad, bumper texture and casing, among other fresh components.

The controller is priced $10 cheaper than the PlayStation 5 DualSense.

The Xbox Design Lab allows you to create your own controller, with everything from the triggers to the analog sticks coming in an assortment of different colors. Weight Distribution In The Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X controller does have some obvious visual differences compared to its predecessors. It also has some slightly less noticeable physical changes. But then it also has hidden revisions that youll only discover once you pick it up like its weight distribution. This gamepad has a lot more mass in its grips than the Xbox One controller. And this is by far my favorite change so far.

    Xbox Wireless Adapter For Windows

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows is a USB-A dongle with a single button that allows computers using the Windows 10 operating system to connect with Xbox controllers, headsets, and similar accessories via the proprietary Xbox Wireless protocol rather than Bluetooth. It was announced in June 2015 and began shipping in October of that year. Support for Windows 7 and 8.1 was added through new drivers in December 2015. It is equipped with a single white LED to indicate pairing and wireless connection status.

A revised version, now named the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 was introduced in August 2017 with a smaller size, reducing potential physical interference with adjacent USB ports. As noted by its name, the revised Model 1790 drops support for Windows 7 and 8.1.

New Xbox Series X Photos Finally Show What The Console Looks Like In Real Life

    Unboxing the Xbox Series S

BySamuel Robertslast updated 19 August 20

A wild Xbox has been spotted

Glossy press shots of the Xbox Series X are one thing, but getting to see the console in real life is another. You can start to visualize what it’ll look like under your TV for the next three or four years which is of particular interest with this unusually-proportioned console.

Earlier this week, new photos of the Xbox Series X were snapped out in the wild at the Xperion e-arena in Germany, and are now doing the rounds.

While the console is firmly locked away behind glass, making it hard to get an idea of its relative size next to the other items in your living room, we do get a pretty clear look at the console from behind, including two rear USB ports.

    Here are the photos :

Xbox Series X was exhibited at the Xperion e-arena in Saturn pic.twitter.com/xiMvia1FnX

As the back of the console says, it’s seemingly a prototype. What do you think? Out in the real world, it looks slightly less like the obelisk from 2001: A Space Odyssey, and a little more living room-friendly.

We’re looking forward to checking it out, even if we won’t be playing Halo Infinite on it this year. Still, Microsoft Flight Simulator is a surprise game of the year contender for Xbox it should look fantastic on the new system.
