Xbox One Players Will Soon Be Getting Reputation Warnings

Xbox Reputation: How to get out of AVOID ME / NEEDS WORK Solutions and fix

The Xbox Ones new reputation system will start notifying players when their reputation needs work. A post on the Xbox Wire outlines the plans for the reputation system, which includes rewarding players with good reputations, warning players with middling reps, and penalties for the least reputable.

The three ratings can be seen in the image above, and the three levels were recently detailed on the Xbox Wire.

Good Players The majority of gamers will fall into this level. As weve said before, we have plans to introduce rewards for good behavior and look forward to sharing more in the future!

Warnings for Needs Work Beginning this month, some players will start receiving reputation warnings as their reputations drop due to feedback from the community. The purpose of these communications is to remind players about their effect on the community and encourage them to have more positive interactions. These warnings are based on community feedback collected since Xbox One launched.

Penalties for Avoid Me If players do not heed warnings and continue to have a negative impact on other players and the Xbox Live community, they will begin to experience penalties. For example, people with an Avoid Me rating will have reduced matchmaking pairings and may be unable to use certain privileges such as Twitch broadcasting.

Microsoft Explains Xbox Live Reputation System

The Reputation System on Xbox Live helps the company police the community by giving users feedback tools. Negative feedback will impact a gamers reputation and warn other users to avoid them.

The Reputation System for Xbox Live has left some people confused. Mainly, some gamers are unsure of how the system works and what it means in the long term. To help clear up questions, Microsoft has detailed the Reputation System on Xbox Live and explained how it works.

In a blog post, the company talks about how the system works to create a safer community for all users. The company says Xbox Live is a diverse and passionate community that brings people together. However, sometimes the network is abused. This can include spam, harmful messages, hate speech, and player-killers.

With the Reputation System, users can give feedback on other users. The company says this helps improve the overall experience and targets those who misuse the service.

Like many social networks, however, some people misuse the network in inappropriate or harmful ways. At Xbox, we do not tolerate this behavior and our rules around this are outlined in our Terms of Use. Weve all seen our fair share of bad apples at play: spammers, player-killers, people who constantly use foul language, people who send harmful messages, etc.

Can You Get Banned On Xbox

Microsoft will now warn you if your Xbox One reputation

When thinking about the Xbox and all of the online games that people play on the system, you may be wondering how Xbox can keep everyone following the rules. While there are some people who do follow the rules, Xbox helps those who do not follow the rules by punishing those players.

This means that if you break the rules when playing games on Xbox, you can have your account suspended. If you are curious what Xbox will do after a suspension, you are not alone. Many people wonder about getting banned on Xbox.

You can get banned on Xbox for repeatedly breaking the rules of the system. You can also get banned for specifically modding your Xbox, or trying to commit online fraud.

No one specifically wants to get banned when playing online. The problem is that everyone wants to win and winning can make you want to cheat. If you cheat, you obviously do not want to get caught, which is where people reporting comes into play.

You can hide the fact that you are cheating from Xbox so well that they do not know you are cheating. If you constantly are being reported for cheating they will begin to dig deeper and look closely at your account.

This is why if you never want to worry about getting banned or having any issues with playing online you should simply follow the rules. As much as you love to win, it is not worth it for you to cheat and break the rules.

How Many Reports Can Cause A Ban

There is no specific number of reports that are required for a ban. The ban of any account depends on the offense committed by the user of that account. If a user reports another account on Xbox live then the enforcement team will look into the matter.

They will investigate the matter of whether the report was true or false. If the report was true, then the account will be banned or suspended immediately. There are many examples of people who used slurs or threatened violence whose accounts were suspended within a few hours of being reported.

There is nothing like reporting an account by several users to help get an account banned faster. A single report may cause a ban if the report was genuine and the user was offended or threatened by the user whom they are reporting.

The enforcement team is responsible for investigating all of these matters but they are human and sometimes get it wrong. Just because you report someone or get reported does not mean that you will automatically get banned. It just means that the enforcement team will take a look at your account more closely. Then if you have done something wrong you will face a suspension or ban.

Reasons Behind The Report On Xbox

There are some pretty serious reasons for which a user can be reported by any other user and then there will be some reports that are not bad enough to warrant a suspension or ban. The enforcement team takes the reports very seriously and makes sure that anyone who is making the Xbox Live platform dangerous or harmful for others is removed.

If someone is harassing any other user while playing a game then the user will likely report the account from where they are being harassed and that account will be suspended for a time. If they have received many suspensions and havent changed their ways then it is likely that they will be banned entirely.

If someone makes a threat of violence or urges a person to do violence to themselves then that is also an offense that will result in a suspension or ban.

Users can also be reported for being sexist or racist as that is also prohibited by Xboxs Terms of Service.

Basically if you act like a decent human being then you wont have any issues with getting reported but if you act like a jerk to everyone online eventually you will face a suspension or console ban.

Microsoft Roots Out ‘bad’ Xbox Live Players

Xbox One players who cheat or display anti-social behaviour during online games will be punished, Microsoft has revealed.

Such players will be issued with a red card and have certain privileges removed.

A traffic light system will categorise players, with green meaning “good”, yellow meaning “needs work” and red standing for “avoid me”.

Players falling into the green category will gain rewards for good behaviour.

Michael Dunn, program manager on Xbox Live, did not go into detail about what such rewards would be but did say that “the majority of gamers will fall into this level”.

Microsofts Plan For A Better Xbox Live

Under the Xbox Ones new reputation system, players will be marked good player, needs work, or avoid me, and the consequences of online behavior will be stricter. Whereas the Xbox 360s approach was was more of a soft barrier, according to Microsoft SmartMatch senior program manager Micheal Dunn, here the goal is to make sure youre playing with people you can have a conversation with. And that means segregation in some instances.

For random matchmaking in online games, the avoid me crowd will be blocked off from the other two player segments, reports Ars Technica. Before it gets to that point, though, Microsoft will send cautionary messages in an attempt to get players to change their behavior. For specifics on how the system will work most of you neednt be worried about your reputation Dunn gives some approximate numbers and examples of how itll play out.

The theme is it really takes hundreds or thousands of people across the community to affect your rep as a new player, he said. One or two pieces of bad feedback from a weeks worth of play or something thats not really going to affect you very much. Everyone has an accident, everyone has a bad match, someone they didnt get along with. But if youre consistently, across the community, a person people say they dont like, thats whats going to affect you.

My Reputation Needs Work For Some Reason

I’d like to figure out where to resolve this. It happened out of nowhere.

Me and my buddies get into heated arguments occasionally and they’ll often go out and report each other for no reason. This is the only reason i could think of, and if it is, i feel like my reputation should be restored to normal.

Why should the way i look change to all players after i goof around with my own friends?

Thanks for all the responses. I’ll let them know.

Its the dumbest thing, they’ll report each other for random things. I dont really report unless something is report-worthy, they just report anyone who could possibly sound rude. It kinda sucks that im the one that suffers and has to get a bad rep just because my friends are bumbling idiots.

Once again, thanks for the responses.

No one likes a spoilsport, especially when that spoilsport wants to ruin everyones online gaming fun by yelling offensive slurs/various other forms of verbal abuse in voice chat because they want to get the most of their headset in the very worst way. No one likes a gamer who quits a losing game out of rage, immaturity or simply poor sportsmanship.

On Xbox One, there is a new reputation system in place to both combat and deter the sort of behavior that can spoil the online gaming experience and Microsoft has now gone to the liberty of explaining it. According to the creators of the green and black game box, the Xbox One reputation system will rank players into several tiers. In familiar traffic-light like colors of green, orange and red, the worst of the worst will find themselves branded with the latter, while those who play nice get the green light to go ahead and enjoy themselves.

While the Good Player, Needs Work and Avoid Me labels will be assigned on the fly with a back-end algorithm, the codes results will be displayed loud and proud on each Xbox Live players playercard, meaning that theres little to no avoiding the reputation rating that each player has been lumped with.

Furthermore, Michael Dunn, program manager at Xbox Live, explains the systems complicated back-end gubbins with the following
