The Controller Is Super Comfortable

It’s a little thing, but the Xbox Wireless Controller is adorned with hundreds of tiny studs on the back and side, which makes gripping it much more comfortable and, in a strange way, satisfying. I’ve yet to get in any long sessions on the console, but I suspect it’ll make extended stretches of gaming easier on the hands. The direction pad also has an eight-way rocker, rather than the previous four-way one.

Can I Use An External Hard Drive With The Xbox One

Yes, to store all your games, apps and other content.

The Xbox One can, in fact, support up to two external hard drives at once, allowing you to increase your consoles storage.

The hard drive must be USB 3.0 compatible and 256GB or larger in capacity.

Youll need to format the external hard drive when its first plugged into your Xbox One, but then youll be given the choice of whether to make it your default installation location.

You dont have to, though, because if your Xbox Ones built-in hard drive gets too full, your content will automatically start spilling over into your external drive space.Related: Xbox One HDD Upgrade How to upgrade your Xbox One storage

So Which Should You Buy

Honestly: neither. You should look into picking up an Xbox Series S or a more powerful Xbox Series X. Both of these systems are in the next-generation console family for Xbox gaming, and are future-proofed for at least the next five-plus years. The Xbox One consoles will be riding off into the sunset within the next two years, likely being cut off from future games.

If you absolutely are intent on getting an Xbox One console, and not a Series X/S console, the main issue here is whether or not you have a 4K television. There are gains to be had by using the Xbox One X with a 1080p set, but they will be nowhere near as pronounced as they would be with a 4K display with HDR. I would argue that, unless you’re going to get a 4K TV or monitor shortly, you could probably stick with an Xbox One S. However, as time has gone by, it feels like developers are increasingly prioritizing the development of the Xbox One X versions of their games. Many modern games run far worse on the Xbox One S. Even if you don’t have a 4K TV to enjoy the extra pixels, you’ll enjoy better performance across the board. Seriously though, at this point, you should just grab an Xbox Series S at the very least.

It all boils down to personal preference, but the Xbox One S is going to be the real bargain console for the remainder of the year. The X will compete for the hardcore audience against Sony’s less-powerful PlayStation 4 Pro and even some higher-end gaming PCs.

Which One Should I Buy

With three main consoles and one variant in the Xbox One family, some gamers may not know which one fits their needs the most. Heres our short buyers guide to help you make the best decision between all of them.

The original Xbox One is quite dated, even though its graphics are still holding up well. That said, unless you find a good deal, you should stick with the Xbox One S or X. These two are more powerful and can run games better.

If you cant afford the Xbox One X, the Xbox One S is a great choice. It might not offer a considerable boost in performance, but its still better than the original console. You can also watch 4K media on it if you own or stream it.

The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is a surprising alternative for gamers who dislike piles of discs and covers. It doesnt truly replace the first Xbox One S, but you dont need to worry about physical media copies with it.

However, if you value having a disc for collectability, you shouldnt buy one. Theres no way to make the All-Digital Edition run physical games, and youre stuck with the 1TB of storage space.

The Xbox One X was easily the king of consoles before the next-gen consoles were introduced in 2020. It can play games in 4K natively and even boost older titles to 120FPS if supported. Whats more, it has practically everything the older consoles have.

Overall, the Xbox One S and X are the best choices among the four.

How Much Is Xbox Live Gold

Xbox Live Gold costs £5.99 a month in the UK, or you can pay £39.99 for an annual subscription. If you can afford the lump sum, wed suggest you opt for the yearly membership, as the one-off payment will save you over £30 off the monthly payments.

Not only does Xbox Live get you access to online multiplayer gaming, with faster matchmaking, but youll also get free games every month through the Games With Gold offer.

There are also Deals With Gold to take advantage of, too, giving you discounts of up to 75 per cent off selected games in the Xbox Live store each month.

Previously, youd need an Xbox Live Gold membership to access entertainment features such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video or even the Xbox One OneGuide EPG, but Microsoft changed its policies in 2014.

Are There Dedicated Servers For All Xbox One Games

Kingdom Come: Deliverance Review

This should be a source of good news for all Xbox One multiplayer gamers. Tapping into the cloud, Microsoft has revealed there will be dedicated servers for all Xbox One games and they will be free to all developers. Essentially this means games against friends will be played on more stable connections, so you can have no complaints when you get another hiding on FIFA 14.

Release date: TBC

What is it? A vampire RPG – need we say more?

Turned as an act of vampire terrorism during the ‘Mass Embrace’, you’ll soon get caught up in vampire faction politics, where you’re still just trying to deal with your new way of life. This is an RPG at its core too, filled with player choices, a strong narrative, and branching dialogue options too.

Government Advice On Kodi

‘If you are not paying for this content you are depriving industry of the revenue it needs to fund the next generation of TV programmes, films and sporting events we all enjoy.

‘Instead it provides funds for the organised criminals who sell or adapt these illicit devices.’

The IPO has also warned that using illicit streaming devices could expose children and young people to explicit or age inappropriate content.

It also raises the question of the electrical safety of boxes sold on the black market.

A new report released last month revealed that illegal Kodi boxes can pose a ‘substantial’ fire and electric shock risks to users.

How Xbox 360 Works

Xbox 360. See more

Microsoft’s first video game console, the Xbox, has sold more than 20 million units worldwide since its introduction in 2001. Despite the Xbox’s impressive power, the list of big-name video game titles to support it and the success of the Xbox’s online component, Xbox LIVE, Sony’s PlayStation 2 still outsold it.

As the game industry moved into the next generation of video game technology, Microsoft was determined to dethrone Sony’s PlayStation. Enter the Xbox 360.

Microsoft rebuilt the Xbox from the ground up. From the name to the look to hardware and features, the Xbox 360 is a radically different and more powerful machine than its predecessor. Far more than a video game console, the Xbox 360 is a total media center that allows users to play, network, rip, stream and download all types of media, including high-definition movies, music, digital pictures and game content.

In this article, we will learn about the hardware and features that make the Xbox 360 a leap forward into the next generation of gaming consoles.

  • Custom IBM Power PC-based CPU with three 3.2 GHz cores
  • Custom ATI graphics processor with 10 MB embedded DRAM
  • 512 MB 700 MHz GDDR3 RAM

  • Support for up to four wireless game controllers
  • Three USB 2.0 ports
  • Two memory unit slots
