Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Design

Minecraft Xbox 360 + PS3 Top 10 Most Common Blocks

For the most part, whether you like a consoles design comes down to personal preference. But my personal preference is that I cannot stand how the PS5 looks. Not only is the system comically large its also a pain to switch from vertical to horizontal configuration, and the standard version sports an ugly, asymmetrical design.

The front panel is prone to fingerprints the power and disc eject buttons are indistinguishable. Its rare that I recommend you hold off on a console purchase simply to wait for the prettier redesign, but you should very strongly consider doing that with the PS5.

The Xbox Series X, on the other hand, is still pretty bulky, but manages its space much better. Rather than looking like an oversized router, the Xbox Series X is a sleek black box that looks, at least in its vertical form, kind of like a small tower PC . It has a clearly defined power button, as well as a pairing button to make wireless connections painless.

The only big advantage the PS5 has over the Xbox Series X is the presence of a USB-C port which is a big deal, especially as more accessories get USB-C adapters. But even if the Xbox Series X design is much more conservative, its also much more sensible overall.

Winner: Xbox Series X

Thursday Is Always Popular For Ps5 Restocks But

We didn’t see a PS5 restock on Wednesday, but we’ve analyzed our data and Thursday happens to be more popular for finding PlayStation 5 for sale than any other day of the week.

But… we know for a fact that many retailers are holding off on restocking the console in anticipation of Black Friday deals. No PS5 won’t be discounted, but it may attract you to their stores online and in person so that you checkout with other items in a mad dash to buy the PS5.

We’ll keep updating this live blog and sending out tweets as we find the Sony console in stock. We did see club store BJ’s serve up PS5 and Xbox Series X bundle listing only to take them down after about 12 hours. They may be prepping a restock in a matter of days.

Older Consoles Remain More Popular Overall

Many Inverse readers still play on older generation platforms more than any other. Of those surveyed, 17 percent preferred the PS4, while 16.9 percent played more on Xbox One. This could be related to cost, or perhaps tied to the pandemic, which caused people to dust off their old systems to stay occupied at home.

It could also be a testament to the number and quality of games available for each new platform. While there are notable experiences to be had across each, like Demonâs Souls, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and The Medium, perhaps consumers are waiting for a larger library to choose from. Thereâs little incentive to rush in getting a new console.

Is The Sony Ps4 Kid Friendly

Xbox Series X vs PS5 Reddit: Which is the most popular ...

The PS4 is a great gaming console for kids and there are a huge amount of games available for all ages. I would consider the user interface a bit more kid friendly than the Xbox One. For owner reviews and specifications on the PS4 Slim, check it out on Amazon.

PS4 Games

There are over 200 developers working on game content for the PlayStation VR and there are quite a few games already available for children. Games such as Moss and Rick and Morty are popular choices.

There is a very large selection of child friendly games available for the PS4. As with the Xbox One you can get your kids the Minecraft game which will keep them amused for hours. For older kids, there are the extremely popular FIFA games and if you want to challenge your childrens game playing ability then get them the extremely popular kids games such as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

Virtual Reality

The PS4 can be a very good option for kids. You can still interface with PlayStation VR and there is a very large number of games available as well as internet and media integration. Virtual Reality has made a real comeback over the last few years and the technology continues to develop.

When PlayStation VR is used, gamers can use conventional controllers to play the game. The images are output to the VR headset as well as the TV screen. The headset produces images in 1080p HD and it also provides 3D audio. Sony state that their VR is for ages 12+.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Picture Quality

As mentioned above, the actual gaming performance of the two consoles is incredibly close, although VRR does give the Xbox Series X the upper hand in terms of fluidity assuming you’ve got a compatible TV.

The long and short of it is that both consoles provide native 4K gaming at frame rates that are often double those of their predecessors, and there’s often extra graphical detail and polish, too. You might be playing the same games as those people still using a PS4 or Xbox One, but there’s no denying the generational upgrade in terms of presentation and performance.

If you’re considering using one of these next-gen consoles as a Blu-ray player, there are things to bear in mind, such as the fact that the Xbox Series X supports Dolby Vision but the PS5 does not. On the other hand, the Xbox Series X is a fair bit louder than the PS5 when spinning a 4K Blu-ray.

Ultimately, neither is up there with even affordable standalone players such as the Sony UBP-X700 for detail and subtlety, although each puts in a perfectly respectable performance.

All told, it’s a case of swings and roundabouts here. Gaming performance is roughly equal, the PS5 is the better Blu-ray player and the Xbox Series X is marginally the better video streamer. Ultimately, which is right for you will depend on your priorities, but this round has to go down as a draw.

Pro Xbox One: The Kinect Is Secretly Cooler Than You Think

The affair with the Kinect has always been a bit of hostile relationship. For consumers, the biggest problem with the Xbox One at launch was that it came bundled with a mandatory Kinect making a steep purchase even more expensive. Microsoft took the Kinect out of the box fairly quickly and that was the right move for them at the time. The fascinating thing is that other software giants knew Microsoft was onto something. Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant Big companies want you using voice control for everyday tasks and Microsofts Cortana is no exception. Its the little things, like using the Kinect to pause a tv show or raise the volume on your TV. These are helpful little additions. Not to mention how much better dancing games are on the Xbox. Seriously, Dance Central Spotlight is the best dancing game ever made.

Pro Ps: Japanese Games Are Still More Likely To Show Up On Playstation

Sadly for Xbox fans, Japanese game publishers still favour their homegrown console. Its one thing to lose out on Sony-funded projects like Street Fighter V, , but not getting HD ports of old JRPGs like Final Fantasy X or Kingdom Hearts II really stings. Then there are upcoming releases, like Persona 5, that look unbelievably good. It starts to add up. Moreover, its not like there are a mountain other options for gamers that want to play titles in the vein of Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom or Tales of Berseria. Japanese culture has been such a positive force in gaming, it is a real shame that sometimes Xbox misses out. On the bright side, at least Xbox One got Final Fantasy XV.

Going Head To Head Xbox One Vs Ps4

PlayStation 5 vs Xbox Series X: Which is better?

The dispute over consoles came to a head in November 2013, when the PS4 and Xbox One were unveiled to the world, just seven days apart.

PS4 might be killing it with worldwide sales at 35.9million to Xbox Ones 20million, but whats the situation at home? Using Google Search Data we looked at which states searched the most for which console: PS4 or Xbox One.

Surprisingly, it turns out we arent as torn on our gaming searches as our politics, with the US-made Xbox One topping the list in every state. Thats aside from one very important state in the gaming and tech world.

Home to Silicon Valley, California is the spiritual home of technology. It seems Californians are all about their PS4. Is there something developers and tech pioneers know that we dont? Are Apple, Google and Tesla employees deliberately choosing a console that wont see money going into Microsoft pockets?

Support For Hulu Live Channels

As many Americans and people across the developed world have, I’ve chosen to ditch my cable contract in favor of a more flexible, cheaper TV option. Specifically Hulu Live Channels. You’d think that with the massive popularity of services such as Hulu and Netflix, you’d assume that an entertainment app would run the same on all platforms. So what’s the problem?

Well, Hulu Live Channels doesn’t run on PS4. The Hulu app does. You can watch your favorite content from Hulu and use it as it was originally created, but when you try to load Hulu Live Channels you are alerted with a message that says that you cannot watch live TV or any on-demand programs that are brought to you by the Live Channels feature. I can only speculate as to why this is but it sucks. As someone who almost exclusively uses their console for TV, Sony makes it really difficult for me and people like me to justify a PS4.

Pro Xbox One: Cloud Saves Are A Breeze On Xbox One

Make it fast. Make it magic. Microsoft’s near instant cloud saves are unparalleled. It goes hand-in-hand with their Windows 10 cross-buy initiative. Stop playing a game on Xbox One, and it will instantly sync between all of your accounts. Your saves push out immediately. They don’t wait for a designated period or make you wait while your account fetches data from the cloud. It sounds cliche, but it just works.

You also dont need a subscription to use cloud saves on Xbox One. With PlayStation Plus, if your subscription lapses, you lose access to your remote save data. Obviously, thats an upsetting prospect if an important save happens to be in the cloud at the end of your subscription. Luckily, Microsoft considers them an integral part of the package if youre gaming on Xbox, you have free storage in the cloud.
