No. All you need to do is claim the game and itll be there until you decide to install and play it. You can install it if you like to have all of your games readily available at a moments notice though.
This would save you time after all, as you wouldnt have to wait for the install down the road when you decide to play something new. So its at least worth considering installing games right when you claim them even if you dont plan to play those games right then and there.
Again though, if you dont install them right away you wont lose them. As long as you claim they will be in your library for good.

Xbox Is Still Planning To Drop Live Gold Its Claimed

Microsoft is reportedly still planning to discontinue Xbox Live Gold and make online multiplayer free.
Thats according to journalist Jeff Grubb, who had made the same claim last year when Xbox Live Gold was still required for free-to-play games.
Grubbs original argument was that since Halo Infinites multiplayer was going to be free-to-play, that would only make sense if Xbox Live Gold was removed.
However, Microsoft then announced in April that Xbox Live Gold was no longer required to play free-to-play multiplayer games, leading some to believe that Gold would remain as a requirement for other games.
Yesterday, during his premium GrubbSnax show on Giant Bomb, Grubb addressed the story again and stated his belief that the plans to drop Gold were still on the table at Xbox.
In the past, Ive said Xbox Live Gold is going to go away, and when I started saying that it was when Xbox Live Gold was still required for free-to-play games, he explained.
And I knew for a fact that they were going to make a change before Halo Infinite, and I thought at least it would be dropped for free-to-play games because they werent going to charge people to play Halo on Xbox when they werent charging you to play it on PC or whatever.
Then they decided to raise the price and it looked weird, right? Why would they do that if they were going to get rid of Xbox Live Gold?

If you find old-school adventure games a little mundane, then the high-octane action of 2D side scroller Aerial_Knights Never Yield should be more your speed instead.
Hydrophobia is probably the most interesting game on the list. It was an extremely polarizing game when it was released on Xbox 360 in 2010. Edge gave it 3/10, IGN an 8/10. Hows that for a mixed reception!
Over the past decade, Hydrophobia has become something of a cult classic and rather admired for its still very impressive water physics. The action game was supposed to release in three parts but its developer, Dark Energy Digital, went into administration and only the first chapter ever surfaced.
Band of Bugs is a turn-based strategy game that has you fighting off waves of creepy crawlies in a single-player or online multiplayer. It received lukewarm reviews at launch in 2007, and to be honest, is perhaps best left in the past. Unless youre really itching for something to play in February, you can probably give this one a skip.

Is Xbox Live Going Free Industry Insider Comments On New Speculation
Is Xbox Live Gold going free? Earlier this year, the Internet was flooded with rumors and reports from a variety of reputable sources claiming that Xbox One‘s online service was going to be made free. There was even some strange activity from Microsoft itself suggesting that it was preparing to make Xbox Live Gold free. However, in August, Microsoft more or less shot down these rumors, confirming that, at least right now, there are no plans to make Xbox Live free. More recently, many have begun to wonder what triggered all of these claims that the service was going free and why nobody was talking about the topic anymore.
Partially addressing this, Venture Beat reporter and industry insider Jeff Grub seemingly suggested that the announcement was simply delayed when asked “what happened to free Xbox Live?”. Unfortunately, this is all Grub reveals, leaving Xbox fans with more questions than answers.
Further, it’s not entirely clear if Grub is suggesting if it’s still happening or whether it’s been put on ice for now. He appears to be suggesting the former, but it’s not 100 percent clear.
Of course, if Xbox Live Gold is still going to go free, you’d expect Microsoft to make that announcement before the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S release this November. It wouldn’t make sense to launch new consoles with Xbox Live Gold just to walk all of these subscriptions back a bit later.
