If there’s any single one game that’s dominating this month’s Xbox Game Pass announcements, it’s the arrival of Hades on Xbox consoles, which launches into Xbox Game Pass on Aug. 13. EA Play is also making some exciting moves, with the original Skate heading to Xbox and Skate 3 grinding rails in the cloud. Finally, PC is getting a few titles, likely to replace the handful of PC games that are leaving the service this month .

According to game developers, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remastered will come with both online and local multiplayer modes. In addition, players will be able to participate in Combo Challenge, Free Skate, Trick Attack, Score Challenge, Combo Mambo and Graffiti across both local and multiplayer options.

Without the speed glitch, players would be unable to get on top of buildings and mountains. Skaters can use a small kicker and get to almost any location on the map with some persistence. From there, setting up on a mountain and speed glitching into the fall will lead to some hilarious gameplay. People will also be able to gap between the tall buildings in the game using ramps and kickers. The Skate 3 speed glitch gives players an unending number of gaps, tricks, and combos to attempt.

I rate my games on a scale of 1-10. Skate 3 is a solid 7. The game is a bit rougher around the edges in 2020. Hey, 10 years old is a hell of an age for a game to undergo a review! For it to still feel so inventive and fresh despite how it looks is impressive. With a bit of an upscale on the Xbox One thanks to backwards compatibility, the game is just as playable today. You might not love the lack of response in the flip tricks from time to time. Plus, it doesnt look anywhere near as good as some titles released in 2015 let alone today. Nevertheless, if you nearly cried at the announcement of Skate 4, then replaying Skate 3 is a great way to kill time until the new title.

Skate 1 Feels The Best To Control

Skate was a revolutionary game upon release. Other skateboarding games, most notably the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, had players pull off tricks with simple button inputs that often defy real-life physics and human ability. Skate 3 has a similar problem, in that controls aren’t as complex but lead to some ridiculous tricks that don’t make physical sense.

The original Skate, though, still stands as an incredibly satisfying skating experience. The player can’t get off of their board and run around like in Skate 2 and Skate 3. This forces players to find good trick spots while constantly on the move. The thumb stick controls were pretty well perfected in the game’s simple environment, making things feel a bit more intuitive and realistic.

Skate 3 Xbox One X Enhancements Look Impressive

Xbox One games are not the only ones that see improvements while playing on Xbox One X. Xbox 360 games such as Skate 3 are also enhanced.

YouTube channel Resero has uploaded footage looking at Skate 3 playing on both an Xbox One S vs. the new Xbox One X consoles. The differences between the two versions are instantly noticeable.

You can see the draw distance is much better and things like trees and the ground look smoother. If you go back to the Xbox One S version, you will see that everything is more blurry.

I can confirm the game looks good since I have played Skate 3 on my Xbox One X as well. Sure EA isnt releasing Skate 4 anytime soon, but this is the next best thing.

Not Changing The Skateboard Wheel

To be brutally honest with you EA did not change a whole load of stuff from Skate 2 with Skate 3. That to be fair was a good decision as Skate 2 really nailed the gameplay. Instead, they have spent the development time just refining the game and making it overall better. One thing that I got a real kick out of was how they have Jason Lee playing Coach Frank to teach you the basics. I am a huge Jason Lee fan and thought that his performance was excellent and I am sure if you are new to the series you will find his tips very helpful.

Other Reasons Why The Speed Glitch Does Not Work

Many have reported that the glitch will only work on easy mode, but this appears to differ depending on the console and player. Those struggling may want to attempt the glitch on easy mode. Another thing to keep in mind is the frame rate upgrades from the 360/PS3 to the Xbox One/PS4.

With at least 30-60 frames on the Xbox One/PS4, it is harder to time pressing the summon button. This is because frame rounding on less than 30 fps will make the sequence more forgiving. Trying on easy mode and lowering fps will make performing the glitch much more straightforward.
