The Three Persona Games Coming To Xbox Game Pass

Persona Series – Official Announcement Trailer

The games coming to Xbox Game Pass are Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal. Heres a quick synopsis of the three games:

All of these are the most updated versions of the games you can get, offering more content, new characters, and in P3Ps case, a female protagonist. Both P3P and P4G had been originally released on PlayStation handhelds , and while you can get P4G on Steam, P3P has only ever been on the PSP. Even if I had these handhelds back in the day, Im excited to play these two games on console.

Persona Xbox & Nintendo Switch Trailers

A couple of trailers have been released so far that detail various gameplay and cinematic footage from all three Persona games.

From the brief snippets shown, the gameplay looks to be remastered for modern hardware, running at a solid 60 FPS. Something that Persona 4 Golden achieved with its Steam release in 2020, and that Persona 3 Portable hasnt had before.

Check out both trailers below.

Persona 5 Royal For Pc And Xbox Will Include All Downloadable Content

That’s over 40 pieces of DLC

The news comes from developer Atlus official Persona Channel website, with an article published today confirming the included DLC with the games October 21 launch this year.

Over 40 DLCs sold with the original Persona 5 Royal will be available from the beginning, which includes the likes of costume packs, challenge battles, item and skill card sets, extra Personas and more.

It was revealed during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase this month that Persona 3, 4 and 5 would be coming to Xbox consoles and PC, with it later being confirmed that the game would also come natively to PS5.

Persona Channel doesnt note if the PS5 version of the game will include all the DLC, so it cant be assumed either way at this point.

Theres been no official indication that Persona 5 Royal will be coming to Nintendo Switch as of publication, although a newly announced Nintendo Direct Mini may be home to the announcement.

A new Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase is on the way! Watch on-demand via our YouTube channel beginning Tuesday, June 28 at 6AM PT for roughly 25 minutes of info on upcoming third-party Nintendo Switch games, wrote Nintendo

Whilst Persona 5 Royal will release on new platforms on October 21, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will both release sometime in 2023. All three of the games will also come to Xbox Game Pass as well.

Persona 5 Coming To Xbox Game Pass Suggests New Rumours

Microsofts aggressive new plans for Game Pass may include another new Japanese role-playing game, as hints emerge of Persona 5.

Game Pass has been the best thing about Xbox for a while now but this month Microsoft has really gone on the offensive, adding not only Bethesda titles but also signing up brand new game Outriders and cult classics such as Octopath Traveler and Undertale.

Where previously it could be weeks or months between major new additions to the service now its down to merely days, with a new rumour suggesting classic Japanese role-player Persona 5 is next.

With Octopath Traveler, Yakuza 6, and others it certainly seems as if Microsoft is trying to compensate for its poor reputation when it comes to Japanese support and certainly Persona 5 is a great way to address that flaw.

Thats if the rumour is true of course, but both Windows Central journalist Jez Corden and Shpeshal Ed from Xbox Era have been dropping some unsubtle hints that the game is on the way to Xbox.

Theres no indication of whether it would be the original version or Persona 5 Royal though and its actually hard to guess given the mainline entries have always been PlayStation exclusives and its unclear exactly what kind of deal may have been signed with Sony.

Persona 3 Persona 4 And Persona 5 Are Coming To Xbox Game Pass

Persona 5 pode chegar ao Xbox One? Vamos com calma

We didn’t see it coming. Microsoft is working with Atlus to bring the three latest mainline Persona games to Xbox Game Pass. Yes, that includes Persona 3 Portable, which was first released back in 2009 on the PlayStation Portable. All three titles will arrive in their advanced versions with expanded content, in-game features and more.

Persona 5 Royal will be the first game to land on October 21st. For the other games, Xbox promised that every game you’re seeing at its Summer Game Fest will arrive to play in the “next 12 months”.

Persona 5 Fans Don’t Know What To Make Of New Tease

Persona fans don’t know what to make of a new Persona 5 tease. The tease doesn’t come the way of Atlus, Sega, or any individual involved with the game, but Microsoft, or at least a Microsoft employee. Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal were some of the best and highest-rated games of last generation, and they are exclusive to PlayStation platforms. If you’re on Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PC, or Nintendo Switch, you still can’t enjoy the pair of RPGs despite numerous rumors that if were true would mean everyone on these platforms would be currently debating who the best girl is.

As for the tease, it more specifically comes the way of the official Windows Twitter account, and it’s probably bait, but it’s also the official Windows Twitter account making cryptic teases about Persona 5. Replying to a tweet mentioning Persona on PC, the Microsoft official Twitter account said the following: “Hard to believe it’s been almost six years since Persona 5 was released in the US! How many times have you played through it since then, counting Royal of course?” This is followed up by a wink emoji.

What You Need To Know

  • During Xbox & Bethesda’s summer showcase, the company announced that Persona 3 Portable, 4 Golden, and 5 Royale are coming to Xbox Game Pass.
  • Persona is a popular JRPG series that has traditionally launched onto PlayStation platforms.
  • This marks the first time that Persona 5 Royale will hit Xbox.

The Persona series is coming to Xbox Game Pass. During the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Microsoft revealed that the third, fourth, and fifth entries of the popular JRPG series would hit PC and Xbox platforms in 2022 and 2023. This also marks the first time that Persona 5 Royale will hit Xbox, answering the pleas of fans on the internet for years.

The Persona franchise, part of the Shin Megami Tensei series, usually follows high school students through various adventures as they harness supernatural powers and fight crime. Persona 5 Royale, the latest entry, received critical acclaim upon launch.

With an instantly recognizable art direction, Persona has made a name for itself over the years, setting it apart from the Shin Megami Tensei franchise is spun out of.

Persona 5 has sold over 5 million copies since its launch in 2016, making it the most successful title in the franchise. Persona 5 Royale, an enhanced edition, released three years later in 2019. Persona 3 and 4 first released in 2006 and 2008, respectively.

While Persona 5 will come to Xbox Game Pass in 2022, fans will need to wait until 2023 for Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.

Extending The Persona Franchise’s Reach

Getting the Persona series on the Xbox certainly wouldn’t be a bad idea. Atlus could put the momentum created by Persona 5 to use by making the core games available on other platforms. By establishing Persona‘s presence on every major platform in that way, it would give itself good cause to release Persona 6 on multiple platforms, which could result in far more sales of the next game than even Persona 5 enjoyed. Persona 6‘s eventual success could have a lot to do with Atlus’ gradual expansion onto multiple consoles.

Fans certainly shouldn’t hold their breath for a Persona 5 Xbox release just yet. The Microsoft tweet is far from a confirmation of an Xbox port, and considering how long Atlus has gone without releasing Persona 5 on PC in spite of fan demands, it may not be bringing its recent hit to a new console just yet. Still, Soul Hackers 2‘s surprising combination of platforms is a good sign that Atlus wants to give Persona and the other Megami Tensei games a much broader reach than they’ve otherwise had in the last few years. Hopefully Soul Hackers 2 hints at a more accessible future of Atlus games.

Persona 5 is available now on PS3 and PS4.

Persona And Megami Tensei’s Change In Consoles

Persona 5 Royal Head-to-Head Graphics Comparison! (PS4 vs Xbox vs Switch)

For many years, the Persona franchise has largely preferred the PlayStation as its platform of choice. That includes Persona 5, which was a PS3 and PS4 title at launch its expanded edition Persona 5 Royal was a PS4 exclusive too. In the last few years, however, Persona side games have been more amenable to other consoles: both Persona 5 Strikers and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax have released on multiple platforms, including PC and the Switch. These games haven’t made their way to the Xbox, however, suggesting that Atlus didn’t consider Microsoft’s consoles as a priority.

Soul Hackers 2 changes that. While Soul Hackers 2 skips the Switch, it will be available on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X, thoroughly establishing it as an Xbox title. This is the first time in recent history that Atlus has signaled an interest in the Xbox, and based on its recent growth on PC and Switch, it may not be the last. It wouldn’t be surprising if Soul Hackers 2 is meant to be only the first of several Atlus RPGs to release on Xbox consoles. Although it’s unclear what game Atlus might have around the corner after Soul Hackers 2, it could readily return to Persona 5 to cement its presence on Microsoft’s consoles.

When Is The Xbox Taking Our Hearts

Whats nice about the Persona series is that you dont have to play the previous games to get whats going on. Each game is its own story with a new set of protagonists. That being said, playing the games in order will make it so you recognize game mechanics and little easter eggs here and there. Honestly, I recommend playing all three of these, but you can also check out the plot summaries and go with whichever one is more interesting to you. Either way, prepare for a whole lot of symbolism, self-reflection, stylish visuals, intense battles, after-school clubs, romance, and kick-ass soundtracks.

Persona 5 Royal will be available on Xbox Game Pass on October 21, 2022. P3P and P4G are scheduled to be released in 2023.

Persona 5 was a smash hit for the PlayStation 3 and 4, with many regarding it as the best Japanese RPG of the era. Atlus didnt stop there. Like Persona 3 and 4, the game received a special re-release dubbed Persona 5 Royal.

Persona 5 Royal added a number of new features including new confidants, more rewards for exploration, and an epilogue chapter to the game. This made for a roundly strong experience that is worth revisiting even for those who played the original. But until recently, it seemed that the game was set to be locked up on the PlayStation 4 forever. So what can people on the other side of the console wars expect? And when will Persona 5 Royal come out on the PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox?

Persona 5 Royal Is Making Its Way To The Xbox Game Pass

We have some exciting news regarding Persona 5, originally a PlayStation exclusive title and was well received by the PlayStation community . Now, Persona 5 will be departing PlayStation Plus on May 11th, and PlayStation has confirmed that users have until May 11th to claim the game to access it while their PlayStation Plus subscription is active.

Persona 5s departure from PlayStation was not accompanied by any other information or explanation as to why the game will be leaving PlayStation. However, the new Tweets suggest that Microsoft might be why Persona 5 has left PlayStation.

On 15th April, a user called XeronTokyo tweeted:

I think the April announcement is a game, given two games are out and that Persona game is out for Fall/Holiday. I think Atlus JP wants to replicate 2018 release windows having 2 Personas game releases in that year, One Team Maniax game and One Vanillaware release, and all releases Xeron.

Following that, Microsofts official Twitter account responded to XeronTokyos tweet:

Hard to believe it’s been almost six years since Persona 5 was released in the US! How many times have you played through it since then, counting Royal of course?

Previously, our trusted source, CrazyLeaksOnATrain, indicated that the title will be making its way to the Xbox and PC platforms soon, with the game also being made available on Xbox Game Pass.
