This step is only for those using Windows 7 or a lower version. If you have Windows 10, directly go to Step 3.
You cant use the PS4 controller with Windows 7 or lower versions by just physically connecting it to your PC. Windows Games cant directly recognize PS4 they need a bit of help in this department. What you need is a third-party application software that emulates Xbox 360 controller.
However, for such applications to work on Windows 7 or a lower version, you will need Xbox 360 controller software. You can download the software from Microsoft website.
Here are the steps to follow:
- Open the file and install the software
- Reboot Windows when the installation is complete
Keep An Eye On Gamepad Battery In The System Tray
Its so easy to lose track of time while using PS4 Remote Play with Xbox controller. And its so embarrassing to find out that your gamepad battery is low when you are in the middle of the battle. No worries, it wont happen again, because now you can keep an eye on the battery status in the system tray.
For each gamepad you have, we will add an icon to Windows tray. You can choose the color of your icon in Preferences. If you have several connected gamepads, it wont be a problem to know who is who. If you think that there are too many icons now, choose which ones we should hide.

How To Pair A Ps4 Dualshock 4 Controller With Ios Ipados Or Tvos
The instructions on how to pair a PS4 controller are similar to the above. However, setting the controller into pair mode is different.
Before turning it on, you need to hold the “Share” button on the controller . Then press the PlayStation button in the bottom-centre. The LED light on the controller should flash white, signifying it is now in pair mode.
Now you should see it appear in the Bluetooth menu on iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Apple TV as suggested above – this time as “DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller”. Tap on that and you’re done.
Can’t Connect Xbox One Controller To Pc
Pairing an Xbox One controller to a PC via Bluetooth is almost the same as pairing it with an Xbox One. Turn on the controller by pressing and holding the Guide button, then press and hold the pairing button on the top of the controller. for three seconds until the Guide button flashes. This means it is in pairing mode.

How To Pair An Xbox One Wireless Controller With Ios Ipados Or Tvos
First, you need to turn on your Xbox One controller by pressing the Xbox symbol at the top, then put it into pair mode by pressing the pairing button on the top face of the controller .
The Xbox symbol should then blink more quickly.
For iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, click on the “Settings” app on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Tap on Bluetooth and under “Other Devices” you should see “Xbox Wireless Controller”. Tap on that and it should automatically pair with your device.

Unfortunately, this adapter doesn’t work in reverse, but the same company did release the opposite product, the Xbox One Controller to PS4 Console Super Converter.

Combining Any Of Your Favorite Devices: Controller With Keyboard Or Mouse On Ps4 With Bluetooth Adapter
- First things first, group the devices you want to use on PS4. You can make a group of up to 4 different devices, and then remap them all to be one Virtual DS4 controller, so dont be shy and get creative!
- Time to add the mappings: create a new config, and assign the needed binds to all the devices you wish to use. You can use PS4 Remote Play config as a base, and add more sub-configs if you need them. Then, click on the PS icon on the top of the window to open Virtual controller settings and activate the External device option
- Time to add a new adapter: click on the No adapters added icon in the lower-left corner. Follow the steps in the Wizard, one of them is to reboot your PC to change the class of the adapter. When you reboot, and open reWASD again, youll see Not connected to any target yet in the lower-left

The PS3 and PS4 controllers are a masterpiece for gamers. In addition to the comfort they give during gaming, these controllers feature advanced features that improve your gaming experience. Therefore, if you would prefer to use this controller in retro gaming, I will help you know whether this is possible and how to go about it.
You can use your PS3 or PS4 controller with RetroArch in three ways, namely, wireless, with a USB cable, and with the Sony USB adapter. The USB cable option is the easiest as you will use it just like any other controller. On the other hand, the Bluetooth option is more complex but manageable once you familiarize yourself with the process.
When using your PS3 or PS4 controller with RetroArch, start by plugging your controller into a USB port on your Raspberry Pi, boot the console and wait for the RetroArch menu to open. When the configuration wizard pops up, hold any key, and the configuration will start.
