 dism /Online /Get-ProvisionedAppxPackages | Select-String PackageName | Select-String xbox

You can try to run the following command which will get the AppXPackages matching on xbox and attempt to remove them. There are several commands stringed together .

You can try this through DISM, or PowerShell. Either one should do the trick, pick one.

Remove Additional Xbox Apps

If you search your PC, youll still find several Xbox-related apps living on your computer. While you cant get rid of system-level settings and apps, such as Game Bar and Xbox Networking, you can remove the following:

  • Xbox Game Overlay
  • Xbox Identify Provider
  • Xbox Speech To Text Overlay

Once again, always back up your files before removing apps via PowerShell in case something doesnt go right.

Youll use PowerShell just like you did to remove the main Xbox app. However, youll enter each of the following one at a time. Hit Enter after each line and wait for the removal process to complete.

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Xbox.TCUI | Remove-AppxPackageGet-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGameOverlay | Remove-AppxPackageGet-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackageGet-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider | Remove-AppxPackageGet-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxSpeechToTextOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage

As with removing the Xbox app, if you receive an error with any of these, change the Microsoft portion of the line to *appname* where appname is the app listed after the word Microsoft. For example, Microsoft.XboxGameOverlay would become *xboxgameoverlay*.

When finished, restart your computer. Some files may linger, but these are leftover app files. You can use a search tool to find these files and delete them. You can also use Windowss built-in tools or a system cleaner.

Remove The Dism Packages That Match On Xbox

Build your script based on output found in step 5.

    Uninstall Apps With Winget

Unlike Windows 10, where deleting non-removable default apps requires knowledge of long and complicated commands, things are much easier in Windows 11.

Windows 11 has a built-in package manager called winget. It supports uninstalling apps, including stock ones, even those that Microsoft does not allow to delete.

To uninstall Windows 11 apps with winget, do the following.

  • To begin, open Windows Terminal. Right-click the Start button and select Windows Terminal. No need to run it as an Administrator.
  • Now enter the following command: winget list. It will return the list of allapps you have currently installed on your machine. The list includes a name, id, and version number for each program. Note that your PC might take several minutes to gather a list of apps. The more apps you have, the longer it will take.
  • Find the app you want to remove and type this command winget uninstall XXXX. Replace XXXX with a name of a program. Here is an example: winget uninstall cortana.
  • Important! If you want to delete stock Windows 11 apps with two or more words in their names, use quotation marks in the command: winget uninstall “Your Phone”. Without quotation marks, winget will return an error.
  • Once you removed the app, proceed to the next one from step 3.
  • Finally, you uninstall stock Windows 11 apps using PowerShell.

    Remove Xbox From Windows 10

While its easy to remove most apps from Add or Remove Programs, you dont have an uninstall option for Xbox. Instead, you have to take an alternate approach using the Windows PowerShell. While it looks similar to the command prompt, it works a little differently.

The process is quick and shouldnt cause any problems with your PC. However, its always a good idea to back up your files just in case.

To get started, open the Windows Start menu and type PowerShell. You dont need to see a search bar to type the search term.

When the results appear, click Run as administrator on the right side of the menu under Windows PowerShell. Youll need administrator rights to do this. If your user account doesnt have any administrator rights, youll need to have someone log in who does have those account rights.

Wait for the PowerShell window to open and the prompt to appear.

Type the following and press Enter.

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage

If you get an error message, try the following instead:

    Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp*| Remove-AppxPackage

This should remove Xbox completely, at least the app itself.

    Ii Using Windows Powershell

Youll need to use the Windows PowerShell. There are a few commands you might need to type in, and well go through each one of them, step by step.

    • First of all, click on the Start menu.
    • Type in PowerShell, and right-click the result. Choose Run as administrator.
    • Within the PowerShell, type in the commands explained below.

As mentioned, there are a few options here. The one you may find in other guides that touch on this subject is get-appxpackage *xboxapp* | remove-appxpackage. However, you should know that this command will remove the app, but only on the current user account. If you log on to another user, the app will still be there.

In order to remove the app on all of the users you currently have on the machine, you will need to add the -allusers flag. Therefore, the command will be get-appxpackage -allusers *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage.

However, if you create a new account in the future, the app will still be there, and to remedy this, theres one more command, get-appxprovisionedpackage online | where-object | remove-appxprovisionedpackage online.

If youve chosen to use the second and the third command, finish the third step by typing in the following:

    • get-appxpackage -allusers *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage , and press Enter to execute
    • get-appxprovisionedpackage online | where-object | remove-appxprovisionedpackage online , and press Enter to execute.

Remove Xbox From Windows : Delete All Apps

    Matt MillsGaming, How to0

One of the most criticized aspects of Windows 10 has been the large number of apps and services that Microsoft has forced into its operating system: from its email client to OneDrive, going through, of course, a large number of apps and services designed for games and integration with Xbox . If we usually play on the computer, these apps cannot be useful. However, if we only use the computer to work and navigate, nothing to play, then these gaming apps are unnecessary. And Microsoft doesnt exactly make it easy for us to delete them.

Xbox apps are a series of services that allow us to connect Windows 10 with the Xbox Live cloud, in addition to the other Microsoft console services. These services allow us to do practically everything, from connecting with and playing with our friends, to unlocking achievements, managing the Microsoft console remotely and even playing it.
