You can find Berries by running around the bushes. As for Narcotics, you need to make them by using Pestle and Mortar as well as Engram for Narcotics. As for knocking out the creatures, you can either use your Fists or Slingshot to do that! You can also use Torpid Arrows and Hatchet, but these are for high level enemies. Following is a general overview on how to tame different creatures:
Herbivores: The choice of food for all Herbivores is Berries. In order to increase Taming Process effectiveness, you need to increase their hunger.Carnivores: The choice of food for all Carnivores is Raw Meat. Once again, the effectiveness of Taming Process increases with their hunger. Also remember not to use Berries!

Survival games like ARK are usually about struggle and sometimes it can be a bit too tough for some players. Although many are against it, this is where cheats are a great option for those looking for a more easy-going playthrough. One of the most useful commands available in ARK will instantly tame dinosaurs. Keep reading to find out how to do it and build your dino army!
To force tame you’ll need to open the cheat console and enable cheats.
The way to do this will vary depending on what platform you’re on.
- PC – Tab
- PS4 – L1 + R1 + Square + Triangle
- Xbox One – LB + RB + X + Y
You should see a bar appear at the bottom of your screen. Now you can enter whichever cheats you want to use. To close the console, enter the same sequence of buttons used before. If you’re playing singleplayer cheats should work as soon as you type them and press enter. But, if you’re on a multiplayer server you need to enter ‘EnableCheats ‘. Enter the admin password into the brackets.

Preparing For The Taming Process
When searching for a Parasaur to tame, keep in mind that the lower its level is, the easier it will be to tame. The taming process in ARK: Survival Evolved can take about 30 minutes, so be prepared to stay in one place for that amount of time.
If youre in a dangerous area, its wise to steer the Parasaur into a safer area. This can be done while attacking the dinosaur with the club as it’ll start to run once youve attacked it. Note that this is one of the more taming as a beginner.
There are engrams that you can unlock later on in ARK: Survival Evolved which will make knocking dinosaurs unconscious much easier, but since this is a how-to for new survivors, we will focus on using the items that are easily obtained from the beginning.

How To Tame Your First Dinosaur
The first dinosaur I recommend taming in ARK: Survival Evolved is the Parasaur since theyre considered one of the easier dinosaurs to tame. The items youll need to begin taming are a club, and an abundance of Narcoberries and Mejoberries.
The club will allow you to knock the Parasaur unconscious while the Narcoberries will be used to keep the Parasaur unconscious. Mejoberries are the Parasaurs preferred food, although other berries may be used.
50 of each berry should be more than enough to begin the process.

How To Tame Every New Creature In Ark Genesis Part 2
Astrodelphis: Start by getting Element from the asteroids in the center of the map. Look for the Asteroid with the most crystals on it, and then whack those crystals with your Pickaxe. Next, seek out the Astrodelphis in the center biome to approach and pet it. It may attack after the first pet, but pet it a second time. After doing so, continue to feed it Element until itâs tamed.
This thing can be outfitted with thrusters and weapons, making it a very powerful tame for combat and traversal alike. Youâll need to craft its saddle first, though, which requires 140 Black Pearl, 370 Crystal or Primal Crystal, 55 Element, 2,500 Metal Ingot or Scrap Metal Ingot, and 500 Polymer.
Maewing: This is one of the most skittish dinos in the new expansion, which means itâs a particularly difficult one to tame. One method outlined by nooblets.com on YouTube is to attract it with Rare Flowers and then to pen it in using Billboards.
Once the Maewing is near you and alone, lure it with flowers and then place two billboards in a V shape. Then, just use two more billboards on its back and front to fully block it in. Once it canât move, pump it with tranq arrows till it falls. Fill its inventory with Mejoberries, and itâll eventually be tamed. These can be used to care for infant dinos or to lure wild infants away from their parents.
Find A Dinosaur You Want To Tame
Some people prefer taming higher level dinosaurs to bring them to even greater heights before hitting the tamed level cap. Other people like finding dinosaurs that suit their taste in color. Some even desire to tame lower level dinosaurs simply for the ease of it.

How To Use Ark Cheats
You can access the console in Ark by pressing the Tab keyyou’ll see a narrow box open at the very bottom of your screen. That’s where you’ll be typing in the cheats. To close the console, press Tab again.
In singleplayer mode, just type the cheats to enable them. In multiplayer, if you have the admin password, you’ll need to type ‘EnableCheats < password> ‘ before you can use cheats. Some cheats will require the prefix ‘admincheat’. In singleplayer, you don’t need to worry about a prefix. Just type them and press Enter.

How To Start The Taming Process
Now, it’s time to start the taming process. One way to knock a dinosaur out with minimal chasing is to steer it into a corner where escaping will be difficult. Attack the dinosaur with a club until it passes out. Do not continue to attack it or the chances of taming start to go down.
Once the Parasaur is unconscious, access its inventory and place the Narcoberries and Mejoberries. Now youll have to keep the dinosaurs unconscious bar up, occasionally clicking on the Narcoberries and using them remotely. Try to keep the bar above 50%. The dinosaur will automatically munch on the Mejoberries.

Ark: Survival Evolved Taming Tips
To begin, first, youll have to knock out the creature followed by adding some berries into its inventory and keep an eye on its Unconscious Meter.
As soon as the Unconscious Meter begins to lower, add some Narcoberries after the one increases the Unconscious Meter by around 8%. During this time, continue to protect the creature and wait until the Unconscious Meter has filled up entirely before naming your creature.
Pro Tip: Always start with smaller creatures before tackling the larger ones.
