How To Set Up Obs Studio For Streaming To Twitch
Twitch has a number of requirements for video being broadcast to the platform. As a rule, here’s what you will be aiming for.
- Max bitrate: 6,000 kbps
- Max frame rate: 60 FPS
- Rate control: CBR
- Keyframe interval: 2
Of course, this is all dependent on your PC hardware and your internet connection. If you don’t have the spare bandwidth for 6,000 kbps, for example, then you can’t use that bitrate. You’ll need to lower that as required based on your connection.
Likewise, if you don’t have a CPU that can encode a 1080p60 stream, you’ll have to make sacrifices there, as well. It’s important to remember that if you’re just starting out you won’t have transcoding on your Twitch account, either, so you might want to lower to 900p or 720p and a lower bitrate to ensure your viewers have a good time as well.

How Do You Stream Steam Games To Xbox One
To begin there are some basic requirements youll need to make sure are met before you can successfully stream content from PC to your Xbox One console. The main one being Miracast supported hardware. If you arent sure how to check if your device supports Miracast, you can find a guide here.
Once you have checked if your computer has Miracast, you can head on over to the Microsoft Store and download the Wireless Display App. The link below will take you there, just make sure you select your Xbox One console as the device to download the app to.

When you have the Wireless Display App installed on your Xbox One console, fire it up, then go to your PC and press the Windows Key + P.
This will open a small window with display settings, from this list select your Xbox One console. Once done your PC screen should appear on your Xbox One console. Just remember that the strength of your network connection is going to determine the quality of the stream. You also wont be able to use your keyboard and mouse to play any streamed games. Games are strictly limited to Xbox controller support at this stage. However, it is more than likely that keyboard and mouse support will be added in the near future as controlling a mouse pointer with an Xbox controller isnt the most user-friendly experience.
Note:Its also important to note that you wont be able to use this feature to stream content from Netflix and other similar services.
How To Control An Xbox One Game From Your Pc
If you want to stream your Xbox One to a PC that’s in a different room, there’s one more additional step. While a controller that’s connected to the Xbox One will still be able to control it during streaming, the range of controllers is limited.
That means you need to connect an Xbox One controller to your PC if you want to play a game via streaming. This is less important if you’re just streaming a movie or other video, but a controller is still useful in case you need to pause.
The easiest solution is to simply plug your Xbox One controller into your PC with a micro USB cable. Windows 10 will automatically recognize the controller.
If you want a more permanent solution, you may want to consider buying a second controller and pairing it to your PC. Look for the revised design that first came with the Xbox One S if your PC has Bluetooth, or one that comes with a wireless USB dongle if your PC doesn’t have Bluetooth.

Use Ethernet Or Wireless Ac
For the best results, stream the Xbox One across your local network using a wired Ethernet connection. Of course, not everyone wants Ethernet cables strung across the house, as its visually ugly, even when draped along the walls and corners. The plus side with all these cables is that you wont see the performance dips associated with wireless connectivity.
If Ethernet isnt an option, fall back on a Wireless AC 5GHz access point. A mesh network is good due to the way it creates a blanket of connectivity versus the standard router that broadcasts from one point like a radio tower. A Wireless N 5GHz connection works as well, but youll see limited performance using a 2.4GHz connection on either network.
Microsoft also suggests using Powerline adapters as an alternative to wired connections. You need at least two units that plug directly into your walls power outlets to create a network connection through the electrical system. One unit can then plug into your modem or router via an Ethernet cable while the other unit plugs into the Ethernet port on the Xbox One. Unfortunately, Powerline technology heavily depends on your homes wiring and breaker box, thus you may see better results using wireless connectivity instead.
Finally, you can plug an Xbox One controller into your Windows 10 PC to play games remotely. You can also plug a headset into your Windows 10 PC and communicate as usual with your Xbox One friends.
