How To Share Your Xbox Game Pass Pc Subscription With Your Family

How To Share Xbox Game Pass Ultimate With Family

1. Go to the Microsoft Family management page, and invite your family members to the group. Once they have accepted the invite, proceed to the next step.

Note: You can also add members from the Windows 10 Settings App > Accounts > Family and other users.

2. You will need an active Game Pass subscription in your primary account.

3. Sign in to the same account on the second computer. You can do this from the Microsoft Store app, sign out of the current account, and then login to your primary account.

4. Open the Xbox app on your family member’s PC, click on the user-profile. If they already have an Xbox ID, have them sign in to it. Else, just create a new account for them.

That’s it. Now you and your family can access the same Xbox Game Pass PC subscription. If you have issues getting the Xbox app to recognize your subscription, close the app and open it.

You may want to go to the Xbox app’s settings and disable the option for buying without a password, to avoid unauthorized purchases. The Xbox app may display a notification that says your signed in account is different from your Store account. You can ignore the message , and play your games.

Please note that you cannot share EA Play with your family. This only works with the games in the Xbox library.

I came across this on reddit a few days ago.

Note: I don’t have an Xbox console, and cannot confirm if this method works with it.

Account Sharing: Xbox Live Gold And Xbox Game Pass Too

Here is a list of all subscriptions shared with Xbox Account Sharing as well as other items shared and paid for by only one of the two accounts.

  • Abonnement Xbox Game Pass
  • Abonnement Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
  • Abonnement Xbox Live Gold
  • EA Play membership
  • Xbox games downloaded from the store
  • Games Season Pass
  • Game DLCs
  • Game pre-order bonus

Note that for EA Play, only the free games in the safe are shared between the two accounts. The other benefits of the service like 10 hours of early access and promotions are only available to the subscribing account of the subscription.

What Is Account Sharing On Xbox

Account sharing is a feature introduced with the Xbox One called Home Gold. Introduced at the launch of the console in 2013, it allows, on a single console and for all profiles, to enjoy the games and subscriptions of the main account.

For example, if I play on my console, pay for Xbox Live Gold, and buy games from the Marketplace, each account that is connected to that same console will also have my content with the goal of only charging them once. products / services that stay in the same household.

The other more well-known and less official account sharing is used differently. To activate it, you need two accounts and two consoles, and you dont have to be on the same network for it to work. So, for example, you can share your content and subscriptions with your brother even if he does not live in the same household.

With the arrival of the new consoles, we were wondering if Microsoft would review its position on this hijacked account sharing and the answer is ultimately no. Account sharing on Xbox Series X | S works just fine, just like it did on Xbox One.

Sharing Your Game Pass Subscription

Lets get one thing out of the way before you start: theres nothing wrong with doing this and you wont be banned by Microsoft for sharing your subscription between two consoles. Microsoft created the game sharing system which allows for subscriptions and games to be shared with other consoles.

This method only works across two consoles. They can be any two consoles within the Xbox family that can take advantage of Game Pass. That means if you have a new Xbox Series X and an older Xbox One S, you can share your subscription with both. Keep in mind that some games will be exclusive to the Series X and S consoles, so you wont be able to play these on older hardware.

You can use this system to share your Game Pass subscription with any other console. It doesnt have to be your console, nor does it have to have access to your Xbox account once the setup has been completed. You will need to log in on the console you want to share with to set it up in the first place.

Be very careful if youre sharing with someone you dont entirely trust, where you cant set up the share in person. Youll need to sign in with your Xbox credentials to enable sharing, and for security purposes, youll probably want to delete your account afterward unless you trust the other party entirely. If both consoles are under the same roof, this should be less of a concern.

Re: How Do I Access Ea Play On Pc With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Please Help

How to Share Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Games With a Friend EASY 2020

Im in the UK and Ive tried everything to get this to work on the Xbox Windows 10 app. My accounts are linked correctly according to both EA and Microsoft but the Xbox PC app still asks to download the EA desktop app every time. Clicking to download just tells me that it cant download and to do so manually myself instead. I did this but the EA app asks me to pay 3.99 for a subscription before I can download a game. Going back to the Xbox PC app just asks me to download the EA app again!

I have tried restarting one app then the other, restarting only the Xbox PC app, restarting only the EA app and even rebooting my PC twice and then uninstalling the EA app altogether and I am still no further forward!

I dont have an Xbox now, only a PC and I have been using Game Pass for Windows for quite a while without problems until now. The only thing I can think of is that I also have a linked account for EA with Steamcould that be causing problems? My sub with Steam expires in a few days so thought I would be able to switch over to Game Pass with no problems.

*EDIT*

The Xbox app still demands that I download the EA app so I dont even bother clicking anything in there now as long as the EA app works

How To Use Game Pass On Two Xbox Consoles

Microsoft allows you to set one console as your Home Xbox, which means that the Game Pass subscription is available to everyone on that console. By setting your Home console to a second console, you can share your subscription with anyone that uses that console.

Any titles that you own as part of your game library will also be available to anyone on that secondary Home console.

With a secondary console set as your Home Xbox, you can use your primary console to play games as normal. Youll simply need to log in to access your Game Pass subscription and games library.

Why can’t family members download and play games they want to when I’m paying for Game Pass Ultimate.

As a parent, I don’t play games, I just pay the bills!

I’ve got an account that’s linked to my credit card and I’ve purchased Game Pass Ultimate.

I’d like my son who is setup as a family member to be able to select any game he’d like to play and just download it.

I’ve also added money to his account but when he goes to the store, the prices of the games & addons are not offered at the discount price that I’m offered.

I have to buy the game/addon as a gift and give him the code so he can get it at the discounted price. That leaves the money I added to is account still there and leaves me out of pocket.

Gamesharing is a fantastic incentive that makes digital purchases a better value prospect. It allows you to share games between two consoles while only paying for the title once.

Though gamesharing offers you some benefits, this process comes with a few risks as well. After game sharing, your friend will be able to make deals via your account on the Xbox Store. Hence, you should pay attention to the information you save on your account.

Xbox Game Pass For Families And Households: Where Is The Family Plan

I get this question a lot. Where exactly is a family plan for Xbox Game Pass? Is it something that could realistically happen? And what could be potentially holding it up?

Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft’s all-you-can-eat gaming service, taking cues from Netflix and Spotify. For a relatively low monthly fee, you gain access to hundreds of the best Xbox games to play whenever you want. With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s cloud gaming tier, you can even stream those games to an Android smartphone, with a web version for iOS and PC coming later on.

Xbox Game Pass may seem similar to Spotify and Netflix on the surface, but the similarities are only skin deep. Unlike Netflix, retail buy-to-own native versions of games remain popular, and Xbox Game Pass may actually even be helping drive retail sales of games, unlike Netflix and Spotify, which are potentially killing retail sales in their respective industries. In any case, there is one major advantage Netflix, Spotify, and others have over Xbox Game Pass the inclusion of a family plan, for sharing the subscription within a single household.

Why doesn’t Xbox Game Pass have this? And are we likely to see it in the future?
