Xbox One X Hdmi Port Replacement Repair Service Uk
What causes the Xbox One X HDMI fault?
The most common reason we hear is that the Xbox One X has been dropped or knocked while plugged in. This causes the HDMI cable to yank out and physically damage the port. It can also happen while plugging in the cable. The ports are quite delicate so if the HDMI cable isnt plugged in carefully it can cause damage.
How do we repair the Xbox One X HDMI port?
To repair this fault we need to carefully strip the console down to the motherboard. From there we desolder the old HDMI port. The port is attached by 4 main holding legs that are through-hole soldered and the HDMI data pins are surface mounted so it is a delicate job. Once the old port is removed the solder pads of the logic board are inspected for damage. If the original port is really badly yanked this can cause damage to the motherboard and in some circumstances could be beyond repair .
Once we have cleaned up the board and prepped the solder pads for the new port we solder the new HDMI port to the Xbox One X. We reassemble the console and it goes down to our testing bench where all consoles are tested for at least 4 hours.
How To Do Xbox One Broken Hdmi Port Repair Yourself
Everyone wants to save money, and virtually the main reason someone wants to fix their Xbox One is to save some money. Well, in some situations buying a new one is not even an option. Of course, there is no cheaper way to fix your Xbox One than to do it yourself. Once you decide to go down this rabbit hole, we suggest doing some preparation. Everyone expects that they will open up their Xbox One and there is a little button, which says flick it to fix it, however, the truth is far from it. We suggest staying away from Youtube and forum fads as most likely a simple fix won’t do any good. You will have to figure out how the Xbox One operates internally to have a chance at repairing it. So, roll up your sleeves, take a look at disassembly pictures online and be prepared to encounter lots of cables. You will also find various secure bolts and possibly a disappointment as there’s usually no such thing as an easy fix.

Is It A Good Time To Buy This Cable
Yes. Although it isn’t future-proofed lacking HDMI 2.1 at this point, there’s no reason to expect many games will be able to take advantage of HDMI 2.1’s features, which include variable refresh rates for 120Hz displays. Almost all games are hard-capped at 30 or 60 frames per second at an absolute maximum, meaning you should probably just skip on more expensive HDMI 2.1 cables until the next generation of Xbox consoles.

Disassembling The Unit And Assessing The Damage
In order to disassemble the unit, I followed some youtube tutorials . In order to access to the hdmi port freely, you will need to get the motherboard out of the case and remove everything conneted to it.
Once disassembly finished, I discovered that the hdmi port was in far worse shape than I thought as you can see in the pictures: many tabs were broken so a simple fix was not an option. As a newbie, I had no idea on how to fix this kind of damage so I decided to put everything aside and do some research to figure out the best way to fix it.

The Warranty Repair Process
If your console is under warranty, then you will first want to make sure your Xbox is registered under your Microsoft username. If youre unsure, you can do so here.
Once registered, you can then click the request repair button, where it will then ask you a series of questions, such as the problem and your contact information.
After you input the information, Microsoft will then give you a series of options, ranging from simply fixing the problem or replacing it with a refurbished one. These options can change, however.
When the information is received, you will then receive a service order number and an order confirmation email that has the shipping information. You will want to make sure you ship your Xbox in as soon as possible because if you dont ship within the 30 days from submission, the order will be canceled and will no longer be valid.
Once the package is received by Microsoft, you will then be able to track the status of the repair by clicking on the order status tab on this page.

Introduction: Xbox One S No Signal Hdmi Repair
A while ago I started watching some youtube videos about fixing all sorts of gaming consoles. Most of the times, these consoles had a common problem: everything worked but the display and usually, replacing the hdmi port was enough to fix the problem.
After watching these videos, I felt confident that I can do this myself so I went on Ebay and bought an Xbox one S with damaged HDMI port for 40.
Once the package arrived and the Xbox disassembled, I discovered that the damage was far worse than what I anticipated. Even worse for a beginner like me, there were a very few tutorials on how to fix an HDMI port with broken pads and none of them about Xbox.
The Average Reported Xbox One Repair Costs

The costs to repair your Xbox One will depend on the type of repair required, the professional you choose and if your Xbox One is still under the manufacturers warranty. The most common repairs, from what we researched, was often repairing or replacing the consoles hard drive, HDMI port pins or the CD tray if you were to hire a third-party source.
If you were to send the Xbox directly to Microsoft outside of warranty, which, most people often do, then Microsoft will charge a flat $115 to repair the console, regardless of the repair.
However, if Microsoft deems the repair is due to a manufacturer defect and your console is outside of the warranty, then there is a good chance they will cover the entire repair, according to some reports we read online.
While optional, Microsoft also offers a service, known as advance exchange, which will cost an additional $15 plus a $400 hold fee. Again, this is optional, but it allows Microsoft to send you a refurbished unit right away, with some people reporting receiving their new Xbox in as little as two days.
From our research, if you were to choose a third-party service provider, the costs were close, but instead of waiting weeks for your Xbox to return, you could have the repair done in as little as a day, depending on the provider you used. In our table below, we averaged out some of the quotes we received online:
Repair | |
---|---|
Won’t turn on | $50+, depending on the exact cause |

My Port To The Hdmi Is Broken In The Xbox
My question is I broke the inside HDMI port for TV output from my Xbox one. Is there any Alternative way to play my xbox some how? If not where can I get the parts to fix it and is there a guide on that?
Can you not just take the HDMI in pass through port and desolated it and move it to the HDMI out port to make it work for now and fix hdmi in if you even care about it.
If you search “Xbox One HDMI Port” on eBay, they have the part on there. There are also lots of videos on YouTube showing how to replace it.
I would warn you though, if you don’t have experience in soldering, you could damage the main board trying to remove the old port. If you’re not comfortable with the repair, it would be worth having an experienced tech do the soldering work for you.

Where Can I Fix Xbox One Local Or Online Repair Centre
Everyone has to agree that the best people at fixing your Xbox One are the ones who manufactured it. They have all the knowledge on how to repair and what replacement parts they will need in the process. However, as mentioned before, going to the manufacturer is usually out of options, be it due to expired warranty or solely due to a lack of patience to deal with poor customer service or extremely long service times. In our “unbiased” opinion independent Xbox One repair centre is the way to go. Following a few basic rules, one can select the business, which will most likely provide professional service and brilliant customer experience. In most cases for a fraction of the price, what manufacturer would quote to fix your device. When choosing a repair centre, positive reviews are essential, of course, professional-looking and correctly functioning website always helps to add to trust. Be wary of places that seem to “specialise’ in fixing everything it is impossible to know the ins and outs of all electronic items. The real repair centres usually specialise in servicing a few different device types. It takes a lot of effort to figure out how to economically and reliably repair particular device, in this case, Xbox One. So we advise you to choose wisely and read other people reviews about the company.
