Nvidia Geforce Now Can Now Stream Steam Games To Xbox Consoles
There are quite a few game streaming services now available, and they all compete on two main fronts. They try to outdo each other in the number of games they can stream and the number of devices they can stream to. NVIDIAs GeForce NOW had the advantage of being in beta even before the likes of Google Stadia got started and has been able to expand to more devices than any of its rivals have so far. Its latest trick is to support Microsoft Edge, which, coincidentally, opens the doors to its unofficial arrival on the Xbox.
Being able to play games anywhere has always been a dream for gamers, but almost all solutions available today come with their own compromises. Direct mobile gaming naturally excludes many PC and console titles, while game streaming services tend to favor one gaming platform over another. While GeForce NOW is squarely tied to PC games, its availability on almost any computing device makes up for that.
NVIDIAs cloud-based gaming service has been available on browsers, including Apples Safari, and it has recently added Microsoft Edge to that list. More than just catering to Windows users who do prefer that browser, it also means that GeForce NOW also indirectly adds Xbox consoles to its supported list of devices.
You can now play Steam PC games on an Xbox with Nvidias GeForce Now. Here’s a quick look at how it all works. Details here:

How To Stream Pc Games From Windows 10 To Your Xbox One For Free
I’ve been really enjoying my Xbox lately as well as some fun Retrogaming on original consoles. Back in 2015 I showed how you can stream from your Xbox to any PC using the Xbox app from the Windows Store. You can pair your Xbox controller with any PC you’ve got around . In fact, I often walk on the treadmill while streaming games from the Xbox to my little Surface Pro 3.
Then, a year later I did the inverse. I played PC games on my big screen using a SteamLink! Although they’ve been discontinued, they are out there and they work great. This little box lets you play PC games remotely on your large screens. I have a big PC in my office and I wanted to use the big TV in the living room. The game still runs on the PC but the video/audio and controls are all remoted to the Xbox. Plus, SteamLink only works with the Steam app running and is optimized for Steam games. It’s a single task box and one more thing to plug into HDMI but it works well.
Fast-forward to today and I learned that Windows 10 can project its screen to an Xbox One AND you can use your Xbox One controller to control it and play games or run apps. No extra equipment needed.
I installed the Xbox Wireless Display App on my Xbox One. Then on my PC, here’s what I see upon pressing Win+P and clicking “Connect to Wireless Display.”
Once I’ve duplicated, you can see here I’m writing this blog post wirelessly projected to the Xbox. It just worked. Took 5 min to do this.

Xbox Users Can Now Play Some Steam Games
GeForce Now is due to arrive in Australia very shortly, so heres a fun little tip for anyone who wants to dabble in it: theres way to stream PC games to your Xbox through Microsoft Edge.
A new version of the Microsoft Edge browser has been added for Xbox users on the Xbox Insider program. Apart from the obvious ramifications Xbox users really like porn, you know it means Xbox users can access a whole bunch of browser-based services that werent available before.
And some of those might open up possibilities that Xbox or its partners hadnt wholly considered. Like, for instance, the ability to stream a whole bunch of PC games through Steam via GeForce Now.
YouTuber Joe Chip, who had access to the Xbox Insider build and GeForce Now, outlined how to get all of it working in a video below. Its far from a perfect experience: Edge will occasionally crash, some keyboard and mouse inputs wont be recognised, and some controller inputs wont always be recognised.
So theres a bit of trial and error. The video below eventually got Wreckfest going, but the benefit of GeForce Now is the thousands of Steam games that can be streamed to your Xbox that wouldnt be available otherwise.
GeForce Now, after all, has a free tier. But if you wanted to spend half an hour playing, say, Loop Hero or, fuck, DOTA 2 on your Xbox, thats actually totally viable.

Want To Know If You Can Play Steam Games On Your Xbox There Is A Way But How
With Steam being a platform for PC games, it begs the question of whether there is any compatibility with the Xbox. After all, Microsoft are the owners of Windows. They have put a lot of effort into making their games available on PC and console. Game Pass is a good example of this. But that being said, it doesnt automatically mean that Steam would be available for Xbox, as Microsoft dont own that particular storefront. So in this article, well tell you everything you need to know about Steam on the Xbox. If its even a thing, that is.

How To Play Astroneer Multiplayer On Steam
Joining or inviting to a multiplayer Astroneer game on Steam is a little different from doing so on Microsoft platforms, but it’s still a very simple process — a huge relief considering the amount of hoops you have to jump through to play some Steam indie games in multiplayer.
All you have to do to invite someone to the game on Steam is press Shift + Tab to open up the overlay, open your friends list, right click on who you want to play and click “Invite to game.”
To join someone playing, just right click on their screen name in your friends list and click “Join game.” It really is that easy.
However, it’s a relief whenever you run into an indie game that’s easy to hop in and out of — especially in multiplayer — and Astroneer‘s got that in spades. Despite being in a pre-alpha state, it’s sweeping sandbox gamers by storm and it’s only going to get better.
Xbox Consoles New Browser Can Also Stream Steam Games Including Death Stranding
GeForce Now support confirmed for new Edge
Andy Robinson
Some Xbox users are now able to stream PC games to their consoles, via a test version of Microsofts Edge Chromium-powered browser and GeForce Now.
As reported earlier this week, Xbox testers in the Alpha Skip-Ahead group can now access the updated Microsoft Edge web browser on Xbox One and Xbox Series S / X consoles.
Thanks to the improved compatibility support with Chromium, the browser will run web browser apps such as those for , Discord and more.
Crucially, GeForce Nows compatibility means that Xbox players can stream many of their Steam games to their console, including PlayStation console exclusive Death Stranding, and ray-traced enabled versions of Cybperunk 2077, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and more.
Sonys other former console exclusives Horizon Zero Dawn and Detroit: Become Humanare not currently supported by the streaming service.
As noted in a video by Joe Chip , because the Edge browser does not currently support a mouse on Xbox, some games which require mouse and keyboard, such as Quake 2 RTX, do not play well via the browser.
GeForce Now is available for free, as well as via a subscription for faster access and RTX support.
The service differs from other services such as s Stadia by allowing players to stream their existing Steam and Epic Game Store libraries onto a number of devices such as smartphones or laptops.

Destiny 2 Is Pulling All Its Expansions From Xbox Game Pass On Console Soon
Destiny 2
Bungie
Yesterday, in the usual shuffle of games coming to and leaving Xbox Game Pass, Destiny 2 fans noticed something in particular.
At first, the list said that Beyond Light was leaving Game Pass on December 8. Then, later in the day, that was updated to say that all Destiny 2 expansions are leaving, Beyond Light, Shadowkeep and Forsaken.
This appears to be just for console and the cloud, meaning they are staying for PC Game Pass, for now. They only recently came to PC Game Pass after being offered on console for a long while, since Beyond Light launched in 2020.
But while games enter and leave Xbox Game Pass all the time, its a little different for an ongoing, live game like Destiny. Heres why:
Forsaken
Bungie
Destiny 2
Bungie
It stands to reason that a Game Pass deal may not just be the best path forward for all games in all circumstances. Its easy to imagine if say, Beyond Light saw a massive decline in sales on Xbox due to being on Game Pass, and the playercount increase/MTX spending didnt offset that, they wouldnt want to do it again. So here we are.
It seems likely that Witch Queen is going to be a monster launch on all platforms, and base Destiny 2 remains free-to-play, though with more and more content removed, that means less than it used to.

Is Steam On Xbox
Steam isnt currently available on the Xbox. At least not as a dedicated app. There are, however, other options, that will allow you to access Steam on your console. One option is to use the Wireless Display App, which mirrors your PC to your Xbox. It will then allow you to use your Xbox controller to play the games as well.
More recently, it has been discovered that an updated test version of the Microsoft Edge browser on the Xbox has enabled users to stream games using GeForce Now. This isnt available to everyone . But it does suggest that it may get rolled out to everyone in the future. Of course, Microsoft may do the opposite, and try to shut down this functionality before it gets rolled out further. Its also worth noting that it doesnt currently make all Steam games playable on Xbox. Just those that support the Xbox controller. But in theory, it will work for both Xbox One and Series X|S users.

Steam Pc Games Are Now Playable On Xbox Thanks To Nvidia Geforce Now
You can even use your keyboard and mouse.
Image via Steam
If you have a Steam game library, an Nvidia GeForce Now membership, and an Xbox One or Series X/S, then you can totally play your PC games on a console. Although it may seem complicated at first, doing so is actually a straightforward process.
This is made possible by GeForce Now recently becoming compatible with Microsoft Edge, a web browser that can be booted up as an app on Xbox. Youll want to sync your Steam library with your GeForce Now account first, then you can access the Nvidia app through Edge on your console and play all your PC games. Its as simple as that.
As The Verge points out, the Xbox Edge app includes keyboard and mouse support, so you dont even need to play these games with a controller. It might not be the best way to play those games, but it does get us closer to native PC gaming on Xbox. With Xbox Cloud Gaming being extended to additional countries, we may get even better methods in the future.
If you dont already have an Nvidia GeForce now account, know that you dont necessarily have to pay for one. There are three plans available, one of which is free, although you dont get priority access and are limited to one-hour play sessions.
