Mojang Studios, the development studio behind one of the best PC games ever made, Minecraft, has announced the “Minecraft PC Bundle” during Minecraft Live 2021. This bundle allows PC players to access and play both Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition through the Minecraft Launcher, which previously only supported Minecraft: Java Edition.
Bundling Java Edition and Bedrock Edition together should be a welcome change, as previously, fans have had to choose between one or the other when buying Minecraft. Java Edition offers players support for the best Minecraft mods and other forms of custom content such as the best Minecraft shaders, while Bedrock is more stable, supports crossplay with Xbox players, and gives players access to Minecraft with RTX. Both versions of the game have their pros and cons, meaning PC players can now play both with this new bundle.
Can You Play Minecraft With Friends On Xbox And Pc
But the biggest advantage to creating a single version of Minecraft across all these platforms is that cross-play will be possible between Minecraft games. This means that youll be able to play Minecraft on your PC with a friend playing on an Xbox, while your buddy joins in from their Android phone.
Can Players Play Minecraft On Android Devices And Xbox One Together
Thanks to Minecraft’s “Better Together” update, players hoping to play the world-building game together can do so, they’ll just need to make sure they’re all on Minecraft’s Bedrock version.
Minecraft’s Java edition, while still allowing cross-platform play, only allows it for PC, Mac and Linux. For those hoping to play with others on any platform, including consoles and Android/iOS devices, players will need to play the Bedrock edition. Bedrock edition is slightly different from Java in a number of mechanical ways due to being made uniform for most platforms, but it can still be incredibly enjoyable, especially with friends across the platform divide.

Do I Need To Purchase Minecraft Twice
So the goal was to start playing Minecraft with my son. He’s seen a lot about it and is interested in building stuff. I’ve never played so I thought I would dive in and get a feel for the game so I could help him too, I purchased it through the store via my windows 10 pc . I was prompted to ‘sync’ purchase through my xbox live account, I pay the gold subscription, not sure if that is relevant or not. Questions:
1- Can I not download the game on my xbox since I’ve already purchased it in the store? I may be confused on the purpose of the cross platform
2- If no on #1, that means i’ll have to buy it a second time through the xbox won’t I?
3- Ok I have to buy again to get it on the xbox, since its already on my windows 10 will we be able to play in the same world at all? or is that the $7.99 / month “realms” subscription added on top of all this?
4-Don’t people build their own Minecraft servers to host a world? This is really just for me and the boy to learn to play so it wouldn’t be open to the world and I probably have the equipment to do so.
How To Do Crossplay In ‘minecraft: Bedrock Edition’
To play cross-platform you simply need to add and invite your friends to your world. Here’s how:
After launching “Minecraft,” . You’ll see a button for this in the main menu if you’re not signed in already. Console players will also need an online subscription for their device, such as Xbox Live or Nintendo Switch Online.
You’ll be able to log into your Microsoft account from the main menu. Emma Witman/Insider
Friends added and available for multiplayer will appear under “Online Friends.” Check the box by their gamertag and click “Send 1 Invite.” When they accept, they’ll be loaded into your world.
Make sure to click the checkbox before sending the invite. Emma Witman/Insider
Note that some worlds in “Bedrock” can’t be played with users on other platforms. This is because each console has exclusive content that’s only available on that specific console.
For instance, on the Nintendo Switch, you can’t share the “Mario Mash-Up” world template with friends on other platforms. You can only share it with other Switch users.

Minecraft Is Coming To Xbox Game Pass For Pc
During this year’s Minecraft Live Mojang has announced that Minecraft is coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC this November.
The ‘Minecraft PC bundle’ will include both Java and Bedrock versions of the block-building sandbox alongside its dungeon-crawling spinoff Minecraft Dungeons. Minecraft already has its own launcher on PC, but it seems like Microsoft is pushing for all its games to be under one subscription umbrella.
Both Minecraft Bedrock and Minecraft Dungeons were already available on the console versions of Game Pass, but this new Minecraft PC bundle will be the first time the Java version will be available on the subscription service. The difference between the two is, put simply, Java is better for modding, Bedrock is better for cross-platform play. Mojang has made clear, mind, that cross-platform play between Java and Bedrock is still not possible.
Having both versions in one place is pretty handy. To play with friends you all need to be using the same version and, previously, the two have been completely non-interchangeable. They’ll still remain separate but Game Pass will make switching between versions much more accessible. You’ll only need to go to one place to play any Minecraft game.
Minecraft Coming To Xbox Game Pass For Pc On November 2
Xbox Game Pass, the subscription service that keeps on giving. In addition to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas The Definitive Edition coming to Game Pass next month, subscribers can also look forward to Minecraft on PC.
Now Minecraft has been available for what seems like forever, but if for some reason youve managed to avoid it, you have no excuse now. This is the ultimate sandbox video game. Theres a reason its the best-selling video game of all time.
Minecraft has come a long way since its inception as a simple sandbox exploration game. There are now multiple game modes, customization that makes nearly anything possible, and multiplayer support.
Both the Java and Bedrock Editions of Minecraft will be available on Xbox Game Pass. If youre confused, the Java Edition is PC only, meaning no cross-play with console. However, its much more flexible in terms of gameplay as you can download any skin online or even make your own to use and you have access to all of the community-made mods, meaning nearly endless gameplay experiences. Again, the only drawback is you cant play with people on other platforms so if all of you dont mind playing on PC, Java Edition could be the way to go.
The good news is you arent stuck with one version. You can switch between editions directly from the unified Minecraft Launcher.

After joining the Realm for the first time, you will be able to return to it whenever you want from your Friends tab. The Reams youve joined will appear under Joinable Realms, as long as the Realm is still online.

Minecraft: Java Edition Is A Cross
Minecraft: Java Edition is the original version of Minecraft, and it is the only version accessible for Mac and Linux users. It is not playable on consoles. Users of the Java game may play with other Java gamers regardless of whether theyre using a Windows, Linux, or Apple computer.
Playing multiplayer with Java is a little more challenging than with Bedrock, but not impossible once you get the hang of it. Here are a few possibilities:
- You may invite pals using an IP address to a public Minecraft server or create your own. Minecraft Realms is a paid service where Mojang runs multiplayer servers for you, however it is not free.
- You may also play together via sharing a local area network, or LAN, which requires you to be physically present with the other players.
