To stream to Twitch on your Xbox One video game console you don’t need much beyond the following basics.
- One console from the Xbox One family of devices such as the Xbox One, Xbox One S, or Xbox One X.
- A wireless or wired internet connection. Either is fine but the faster the internet connection is, the better quality of video you’ll be able to broadcast.

- An Xbox One controller to play your game and navigate the Twitch app.
Streaming Xbox One Game With A Capture Card
Using a capture card will allow you to stream your XBox One games in the highest quality possible. You can even purchase high end capture cards like the Elgato 4K60 Pro to capture you XBox One games in 4k resolution. It is recommended to look for a capture card with a pass through so that you can send a video signal to the TV or Monitor you will be playing games on. If your capture card does not have a pass through, you will need to purchased a powered HDMI splitter. Connect the console to the splitter and send one output to your TV and one output to the capture card. In XSplit Broadcaster, click on add source > devices > video and select your capture card.
If you dont see video from your console, right click on the capture card in the source list, click on configure and select video input. Some capture cards require you to manually set the input resolution resolution and frame rate of the device they are capturing.
Similar to capturing the XBox App, you add a variety of production elements when using a capture card, such as adding overlays and a variety of scenes. If you have the bandwidth and a powerful PC you can stream or record high quality 1080p full hd 60fps XBox One gameplay for YouTube or Twitch.

How Do I Fix A Lag When Streaming From My Xbox To My Pc
Lag is bad for everyone, and gamers are bitter enemies of internet lag. It messes up aim, causes people to fall to their doom, and even forces players to disconnect, which might earn them a temporary ban from certain games.
To fix lag, you have a few options, such as:
Turn off other apps and downloads while playing
Apps like YouTube, Netflix, and Twitch severely affect internet performance, as they take up a lot of bandwidth. If you want a smooth connection, we recommend you only run the game and any other essential apps
Upgrade or add another router
Routers get overwhelmed, which is why a stronger model or adding another one in the home can help reduce lag. Routers need to process requests and having too many of them results in lag.
Check if theres malware
Sometimes, your computer might have some malware thats slowing things down. Windows Defender or antivirus software can easily root it out and delete it. This usually helps with network speeds.
Restart your router
Sometimes, all you need is to restart the router. Refreshing the connection often helps eliminate lag and improve latency.

You can also add in a camera if youre ready to show your beautiful face to the world, but thats optional. A camera would be a good investment to own even if you dont plan on showing your face, but unfortunately, the con about getting a camera is that theyre specific to the console. So if you have a PS4, you need a Playstation camera, and a Kinect for the Xbox One.

Before we get into the steps, we need to clarify something first. Streaming can refer to two things
Normally, when a person talks about streaming, theyre referring to streaming footage of them playing a video game to a platform, such as YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook. Most of the time, this requires a capture card in the case of a console or NVIDIA ShadowPlay on a PC.
For our guide, well be talking about the second, less common definition. This involves sending the gameplay from your Xbox One to the PC. Youre effectively using your PC to play Xbox One games through a connection to the same network.
You dont need to physically connect the two devices, but being connected to the same network is crucial. As your PC becomes a remote display, theres always some lag, but its still a reliable way to play your Xbox One games on your PC.

Starting Your First Twitch Stream & Testing
The first time you stream from the Xbox One, you’ll be required to run some small tests to make sure everything is working properly and that the quality of the audio and visuals are as good as they can be. Here’s how to get everything set up.
Open the Xbox One game that you want to stream. You will not be able to stream to Twitch without a game being active. It’s okay if you open it and just leave it on its title screen. You don’t actually have to begin playing the game.
Return to your Xbox One dashboard and open the Twitch app. Click the Broadcast button on the lower-left side of the screen to reopen your Xbox One game and shrink the Twitch app to a small bar on the right side of the screen.
Click the Broadcast Title field and rename your Twitch broadcast. It can be anything you like. This is what your stream will be called on the Twitch website and in the apps.
Select Settings. You should see a preview of what your Twitch broadcast will look like in a small window at the top of the Twitch tab.
If you have your Kinect connected to your Xbox One, you will see a preview of what the Kinect sees within your stream window. If you wish, you can disable it by unchecking the Enable Kinect box. Reposition the Kinect camera within your stream by clicking on the relevant layout box onscreen.
