Reasons To Check Fps In Games
FPS identifies the quality of the graphics of the game that you are playing. You can check the FPS in games to know if it is low, then your gameplay is going to suffer. However, if you are receiving high FPS, you may be able to amplify the settings for getting better and pleasing gameplay. There are two things that can affect the FPS of a game and that are CPU and GPU.
The FPS shows how smoothly your game is running on your PC. Your game will run smoothly if there are more frames that you can pack in one second. A low framerate is usually below 30fps and if you are experiencing a low FPS, then you are likely to experience a slow and choppy gaming experience. Therefore, FPS is an important metric that games can use to check and evaluate gaming performance.
How To Improve Halo Infinite Performance And Increase Fps
First thing first, keep in mind that Halo Infinite is designed as a state-of-the-art next-gen game with an intent to showcase the hardware capabilities of the Xbox Series X.
Knowing that info, you should expect the game to be fairly demanding in terms of PC specs it requires even just to run the game, let alone to play it with a decent frame rate and good performance.
So, before everything else, make sure that you meet Halo Infinite PC system requirements.
The next basic thing you should check is if your GPU drivers are up to date. You can check for the latest driver via your GPU apps, or alternatively, you can download them from the links below:
With that out of the way, let’s see what else you should do in order to achieve maximum performance.
- Turn off as many background applications as you can, so that you can free up resources for Halo Infinite.
- Prioritize Halo Infinite
- It is known that some games when played in “Windowed Mode” can cause performance issues, so make sure to always play the game on fullscreen.
- Experiment with the game’s “Video” settings. Try to lower some settings gradually and see how will that improve your frame rate.
If you have AMD Radeon RX 500 Series GPU, you should know that it might cause crashes if Async Compute in the Video Settings is set to On, and disabling Async Compute should fix that issue.
You can find them in the Capture Settings menu of Windows 10 and the Captures menu of Windows 11, and then turn them off.
Is Hz And Fps The Same
No they are two separate things. Remember that FPS is how many frames your gaming computer is producing or drawing, while the refresh rate is how many times the monitor is refreshing the image on the screen. The refresh rate of your monitor does not affect the frame rate your GPU will be outputting.

Does Fps Boost Impact Graphics
Microsoft debuted FPS Boost as a seamless upgrade on Xbox Series X and Series S, and in most cases, it’s a free performance boost with no negative impact on visuals. However, FPS Boost can potentially impact overall visual quality compared to the stock, unmodified game. This impacts Xbox Series X, although all Xbox Series S games remain unaffected.
The caveat ties back to Xbox One X Enhanced titles, upgraded for Microsoft’s first 4K Xbox console released in 2017. The device brought a massive GPU upgrade over the standard Xbox One, and subsequent games leveraged this hardware, essentially using raw power to achieve a higher 4K resolution.
These games, now seeing FPS Boost improvements, can in many cases deliver 4K resolution with 60 FPS or 120 FPS upgrades. However, some games cannot provide a smooth 4K 60 FPS via backward compatibility, with Microsoft instead hampering the visual quality to achieve a higher framerate.
These FPS Boost-enabled titles lose their Xbox One X enhancements when on Xbox Series X, delivering their high framerates at the settings of standard Xbox One consoles. It can result in a lower resolution, worse effects, and overall muddied presentation versus the title with Xbox FPS Boost disabled. Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 are among those impacted by this tradeoff.
Thankfully, Microsoft makes FPS Boost entirely optional so that you can choose between 4K visuals or a slick 60 FPS.

Are There Any Downsides To Fps Boost
Arguably, the biggest drawback is that not all titles are compatible with FPS Boost. Microsoft will continue to roll out compatibility to more titles over time, so keep an eye on the Xbox YouTube channel if youre eager for more information.
Some games will see limitations put in place to maintain a high level of performance. For example, two titles that have already received the FPS Boost treatment are Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. With FPS Boost enabled, these titles are limited to 1080p resolutionas opposed to 4K with FPS Boost disabled.
Without intervention in the form of a software update, some titles will see compromises to visual fidelity so that frame rate targets can be hit. Keep in mind that you can turn the feature off on a game-by-game basis if need be.

Destiny 2 Xbox One X Fps Benchmarks
We tested three scenes for Destiny 2, but only two will make it into this content.
The first is our multiplayer scene: This is the first point at which other players can accompany you in the game, and is one of the bigger battles. Its also the only scene where we plotted both frametime spikes and drops, with frametimes ranging from 16ms to 66ms. The average was 33.3ms, for 30FPS, with four frames repeating. Of 6300 frames, thats 0.06% of all frames, so totally insignificant and not noticeable during gameplay. A few frames also render as fast as 16.667ms, oddly, and would be an effective 60FPS but it only happens three times.
We can tab through a few examples of repeated frames . Again, theyre not common, and it basically requires manual scrubbing of footage to visually notice them. Still, the Xbox One X does not always offer enough power to render every single frame and hit the V-sync target.
Here’s the interesting thing about this chart: Power consumption is around 110W, which means we have plenty of power leftover for more processing. The game seems like it could run at 60FPS at least part of the time — but maybe it just wasn’t crossing the threshold enough to make the cut. Odd that so little of the total power is being utilized, here.

For those who dont know, players can either hit the jump pad while standing, which gives the player a more vertical direction, or take the pad while crouching or sliding to traverse further distances horizontally.
Perhaps the Apex Legends Octane nerf decrease the horizontal range for the jump pad will actually prevent players from being able to third-party fights as often and effectively as possible, especially when coupled up with Revenant.

Dauntless Frame Rate Drop Console Fix Guide
How can you tell if Dauntless is dropping FPS?
Well to the untrained eye not so easy but if you feel that your gameplay is stuttering, or sometimes can seem a little chunky and slow then its likely your dropping frames.
Most Consoles of this generation support at least 30 FPS Minimum. The Playstation 4 Pro and XBox one X can power up to 60 FPS on some games. However Windows 10 and Gaming PCs can venture far beyond that.

How To Tell If Fps Boost Is Enabled
Some titles have not had FPS Boost automatically enabled by default, as it requires a reduction in the games resolution in order to run smoothly.
You can turn on FPS Boost for these titles in the Manage Game> Compatibility Options section of any enhanced title. There you can also toggle Auto HDR to off or on.
To tell if youre running either FPS Boost or Auto HDR in game, you can tap the Xbox Button on your controller to see the indicator in the upper-right hand cornerof the Guide overlay.
What Should Be Your Target Frame Rate

The ideal FPS you should be targeting depends on the game youre trying to play. If the games that you play most of the time does not require fast reaction times, such as Civilization 6, having a low-end system may be good enough. Ive personally tried playing Civ 6 on a years-old machine with 60 FPS and it works wonderfully. However, if your games need sharp images and quick reaction like when playing Fortnite or , you must have at least 75 frames per second. If you have 240 Hz monitor and your graphics card support, thats even better!

Xbox One X Power & Temperature Burn
Above is a look at power and thermals from an idle state, which ramps into a burn-in. Theres no capture footage for this. Note also that were using our new thermal paste application, not the stock stuff so its going to be better, as the stock paste is quite bad.
With the console powered off and in an effective sleep state, the device pulls between 0 and 2W from the wall. As we ramp into an Assassins Creed: Origins workload, we see the initial power-on spike at 110W, then about 60W of draw during the menu, then steps all the way up to 170-180W of draw in the game.
Thermals during this time are plotted as ramping from 40 degrees Celsius immediately upon power on, which then slowly ramps to 62 degrees for the backside APU temperature.
