You can also choose to override your tvs recommended settings to set your display up for 1440p viewing or otherwise. To do so, do the following.
K Or : 9 Is Better Right
Even with the latest games consoles, you cant take advantage of monitors with UltraWide aspect ratios such as 21:9. Resolutions such as 2560 x 1080 or 3440 x 1440 that feature on UltraWide monitors arent supported on games consoles, and the games themselves are generally designed to display at the expected modern 16:9 aspect ratio. The Xbox One X and Series X support WQHD output, which could be a nice middle ground when coupled with a high refresh rate on the latter console its easier to drive at high frame rates than 4K UHD is. Sonys console line, including the PlayStation 5, does not support a WQHD signal. It is difficult to predict whether future machines will support UltraWide aspect ratios or whether it might be added to existing consoles down the line, but it is something that is gathering pace on the PC at the moment.

Xbox Series S/x: Change Aspect Ratio
With the Xbox Series S and X using much of the same UI as the Xbox One series of consoles, you’ll want to take a trip to your settings to find TV calibration options.
To get there, you’ll need to open the Settings app.
You can find this either in your “My Games and Apps” folder, in the apps category, or by opening the Guide and navigating to “Profile and System” and selecting “Settings”.
Once in settings, head to “TV and Display Options”, and from there you’ll be able to select your resolution, as well as “Calibrate TV”.
Selecting the latter option will take you through several pages that you’ll essentially need to tweak the look of by using your TV remote.
Eventually, you’ll find a page for “Aspect Ratio and Sharpness”. Here, you’ll want to make sure you can see green lines on all sides of the screen.
Once you’ve done that, click next and ta-da, you’ve set your aspect ratio correctly.
If you’re using a monitor or a TV without a remote, be sure to use the buttons on the device itself to adjust the picture as required.
Shouldnt I Get A 120hz+ Monitor

Most older consoles are limited to 60Hz, such as the PS4, PS4 Pro and Xbox One. With the Xbox One X, Microsoft introduced support for 120Hz on a select few game titles but most developers chose to forgo this in preference for higher graphical quality at 60Hz and lower frame rates. The Xbox Series X and PS5 support 120Hz output and can technically use these alongside a 4K UHD resolution on some screens due to the generous bandwidth of HDMI 2.1. To really make a good use of the refresh rate, the game will have to run above 60fps and ideally reach 120fps. This wont be possible on all titles, but for some titles or less graphically taxing scenes you can expect frame rates to easily exceed 60fps even at this resolution. Games wont universally support 120Hz for the Xbox Series X and PS5, but due to the significant bump in power from previous generations this is more widely supported. The Xbox Series S supports HDMI 2.1 but is not focused on high resolution gaming at high frame rates. Support for 120Hz at lower resolutions is certainly a focus, however. Having a monitor capable of 120Hz output would certainly make sense if you want to take advantage of the titles that do support this.

Add A Dash Of Black Equalizer
Similar technologies exist with other names such as Light Tuner, Black Stabilizer, Dark Boost, Shadow Boost, Shadow Control and Night Vision. On some models these settings raise the black point, flooding the image, or upset the balance of brighter shades which ideally wouldnt be touched. Others are better-implemented and more targeted and that includes the Black eQualizer feature on most BenQ models that feature it. Although we feel these features can upset the image, to varying degrees, they can still benefit competitive gamers who will value this visibility boost over things looking as they should. Regardless of whether such a setting is found on a monitor, many monitors offer adjustable gamma settings or different gamma tracking in certain presets that can also provide a boost to detail in dark areas. This is less targeted than some of the gamma enhancement features that focus primarily on darks hades, however.

Why Are My Xbox Colors Messed Up
First, please turn off the console and unplug it for 30 seconds and see if that helps. If youre on a 4k TV with an Xbox one S or X please turn off the video option called YCC 4:2:2 in the video settings and see if that fixes it. You could also lower the color depth to 24 if youve set it any higher.
Re: Sims 4 Screen To Big
As you seem to be describing the same issue, Ive merged your threads.
- On Xbox theres an option in game settings to adjust the size of the screen which might help. Its under Game options > Other > Adjust margins.
- On PlayStation, this option is not available from the in-game settings because the game takes your console settings. This means you can adjust margins from PlayStation settings: from the PlayStation 4 home screen go to Settings > Sound and Screen > Display Area Settings
Could you try that?
You can also try to play with your TV settings.
Let us know if that helps!

Make The Home Screen Your Own
The default Xbox Series X home screen throws all of Microsofts apps at you and asks you to sort through the rubble. Thankfully, sorting is easy. On the home screen, press the Change View button opposite the Start button to bring up the customization menu.
There are a few settings here, including accessibility options and settings for your theme. Were looking at the Customize Home tab, which, by default, is loaded with Microsoft apps. Delete what you dont want by pressing the X button, and order what you do want by using the A button. Theres no set way to lay out your home screen its customizing, after all but we recommend adding Game Pass and the Microsoft Store, at least, as well as your favorite games. You can remove some of the lesser-used options like Microsoft Rewards if you want.
Note that deleting the app from your home screen does not delete it from your console. No matter whats on your home screen, you can find all of your applications in the My Games & Apps menu.

Make sure your second display supports HDCP. If you arent sure if your display supports HDCP, check the info that came with your device or go to the manufacturers website.
Choose The Best Color Depth

The color depth setting indicates the number of bits used per pixel to represent on-screen colors. Essentially, when set to a higher value, your Xbox One will output a wider range of colors, with more incremental steps between color values.
Xbox One consoles can output signals at 24 bits per pixel , 30 bits per pixel and 36 bits per pixel , and while higher is often better, don’t mindlessly crank up the value to the maximum. Both your TV and game content set limitations on how significantly increased color depth is reflected on screen, with most consumer displays not supporting 12-bit video. While HDR10, the standard used by Xbox One X, requires a 10-bit panel, many without HDR support only offer 8-bit.
