And with more options soon on the way, we’ve wrapped up every Home customization option so far and how to access them.
Xbox Series S/x: Change Time And Date
As we noted above, the console should set the correct time zone and date when initially being set up.
The same should apply if you connect through the Xbox App to complete the setup process.
To set the time and timezone manually, you’ll need to open the Settings app.
You can find this either in your “My Games and Apps” folder, in the apps category, or by opening the Guide and navigating to “Profile and System” and selecting “Settings”.
Once in settings, head to “Time”.
Here you can opt to change the timezone, adjust for Daylight Saving Time, or change your system time.
System time isn’t able to be changed while connected online, but if disconnected, you’ll be manually able to tweak it.
Note, as soon as you get back onto Xbox Live, the console will automatically pull the time from the servers.
Changing Your Xbox One Background
Like any phone or PC, setting a custom background is one of the best ways to add a personal touch to Xbox One. Microsoft allows custom backgrounds on the Home menu, sitting behind the main user interface . And following the “Fluent Design” overhaul of the Xbox Fall 2017 Update, additional transparency leaves the background heavily influencing the console’s feel.
The easiest way to set any background is by using a saved image, transferred through an external USB device. These are the steps to choosing and using your own custom background image on Xbox One.
Select the Personalization tab.
Several other sources are available for custom Xbox One backgrounds, including Xbox Achievement art, captured screenshots or dedicated apps. For a deeper breakdown of these options, check out our standalone Xbox One custom background guide.

Various content block sources are available, spanning all corners of Xbox Live. Chosen games can be pinned to your Home menu, collecting progress details, game updates and community activity. Friend blocks provide status updates on friend activity and their gaming sessions. Microsoft also offers content blocks for Xbox One X, Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass, among other in-house services. Adding new content blocks to your home screen is simple, once you know where to look.

How To Automatically Update Your Xbox One Software
In case you dont want to waste time checking for updates, the system can do this for you. In other words, once you set up your Xbox One for automatic software updates, you will always have the newest versions of the games and apps on your console while not having to lift a finger.
Here is how you can do that:
From there, you will be able to see exactly which updates are available for you to download. In both the Console and Games & Apps tabs, you will find the Keep My Console Up to Date checkbox. Simply check both checkboxes and your work is done.
Since you have checked both checkboxes, your entire software will automatically update itself, not just your games.
If you only want to update your games, just check the second checkbox in the Games & Apps section. The first one should be left unchecked.
Automatic updates are excellent for obvious reasons, but the downside is that you lose control of your consoles memory. Everything happens in the background and the console doesnt ask for your permission to keep downloading and installing updates.
That means you need to keep track of how much memory you have left. If you run out, youll start noticing problems.
Subscriptions With Recurring Billing
If you have a Microsoft subscription with recurring billing, you can change how you pay at any time. You can also cancel or turn off recurring billing for a Microsoft subscription.
Sign in to Services and subscriptions with your Microsoft account. If you have more than one Microsoft account, make sure you’re signing in with the one that applies to the subscription you want to change. If you’re updating your child’s subscription, make sure you sign in with their account, not yours.
Find the subscription in the list, select Manage, and then select Change how you pay.
If you don’t see Change how you pay, it could be because recurring billing isn’t turned on. You won’t be able to change how you pay if recurring billing is off, because the subscription has already been paid and will end when its duration expires.

Second Screen And Streaming
The Xbox SmartGlassapp provides extended functionality on Xbox One, allowing devices running Windows Phone, Windows 8, iOS and Android to be used as a companion device for Xbox One features, such as powering on the console, a remote control, accessing messages and the Activity Feed, purchasing content, and providing integration with certain games and content. The SmartGlass app can also be used to stream live television to Android and Windows devices if the console is using a USB digital television tuner.
On Windows 10, SmartGlass is succeeded by the Xbox App, which supports the local streaming of games from Xbox One to personal computers and tablets running Windows 10. An Xbox One controller must be used, but Windows-compatible headsets and microphones can be used for voice chat. Games requiring Kinect are not supported, while Game DVR and online streaming are not available while using this functionality.
Per a partnership with Oculus VR, users will also be able to stream Xbox One games to the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset by means of Xbox app for Windows 10 as of 2015 there were no immediate plans for direct integration between Xbox One and Oculus Rift.

Change Xbox Game Pass Subscription Date

Hello,
I tried the Xbox Game Pass for a dollar on my PC and I really like it but I’m needing to change my monthly subscription date to earlier in the month. How do i do this?
Hi there,
As far as I know manually changing your subscription dates is not possible. The only way to do it would be to purchase more subscription time on the date you want renewal to take place, then the next renewal date will be the last time you paid. Say for instance your current renewal date is 31/08/2019, you would want to pay for another how many months you want on the date you prefer it to renewal from then onwards, and it will stack your remaining time with your new subscription, up to a maximum of 36 months. Hope this helps.
