First of all, youre going to need a device to run the stream from. Most streamers tend to use computers, especially when were talking about gaming streamers. However, if you use a smartphone or a tablet, all youll need is a Wi-Fi connection and the dedicated Twitch app.

How To Stream Your Xbox One Gameplay Without A Capture Card
To begin, you need to enable streaming on your console. Go to Console Settings.
Next, navigate to Preferences – Xbox app connectivity.
For other devices enable streaming only from profiles signed in on this Xbox. Also, make sure to enable both streaming options on the right for this Xbox.
After doing that download and install an Xbox Console Companion App for your Windows computer. Log in to the same account you use on your console.
After logging in navigate to Connection and select your Xbox One. Press the Stream button on the top. A window with your console screen will be opened.
Note: You don’t have to connect Xbox Gamepad to your PC. If you have a warning – just click Continue to avoid latency issues.
Add this window to OBS as a Screen capture or Window capture in your main OBS Sources area.
Note: for the best quality, both devices should be connected to the same network with Ethernet cables. Having them connected over WiFi may result in a quality loss.

Insiders who are currently part of the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring will be able to experience the new update, which includes new features as well as the ability to stream to Twitch.
Xbox users will be able to stream via the Capture and Share menu, where theyll then be able to select Live Streaming. After linking your Twitch account, players will then be able to post their gameplay directly to the platform.
This streamlines the process, which previously required users to download the Twitch app.

How To Get Twitch On An Xbox One
Before you start streaming to Twitch, youâll need to download the Twitch app on your Xbox One.
1. From your Xbox Oneâs Home screen, use the controller to navigate to the âStoreâ tab on the upper-right portion of the screen. Once there, navigate to the bar labeled âSearchâ, then press the âAâ button on your controller.
2. Use the controller to type in âTwitchâ and after a moment, the Twitch app will appear on the screen. Select the Twitch app and press âAâ on your controller.
3. Select âGetâ and press A again. The Twitch app should begin installing automatically.

Set up remote play on your console:
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide
- Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features
- Select the Enable remote features checkbox
- Under Power mode, select Instant-on
Now set up remote play on your Windows 10 desktop PC or laptop:

Connect Xbox 360: Using Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable Connect the A/V connector on the VGA cable to the A/V port on the console. Connect the VGA connector on the VGA cable to the VGA port on your HDTV or monitor. Connect the left and right audio connectors on the VGA cable to the audio port on the monitor.
Set Up Your Scene And Start Streaming

Use Ethernet Or Wireless Ac
For the best results, stream the Xbox One across your local network using a wired Ethernet connection. Of course, not everyone wants Ethernet cables strung across the house, as its visually ugly, even when draped along the walls and corners. The plus side with all these cables is that you wont see the performance dips associated with wireless connectivity.
If Ethernet isnt an option, fall back on a Wireless AC 5GHz access point. A mesh network is good due to the way it creates a blanket of connectivity versus the standard router that broadcasts from one point like a radio tower. A Wireless N 5GHz connection works as well, but youll see limited performance using a 2.4GHz connection on either network.
Microsoft also suggests using Powerline adapters as an alternative to wired connections. You need at least two units that plug directly into your walls power outlets to create a network connection through the electrical system. One unit can then plug into your modem or router via an Ethernet cable while the other unit plugs into the Ethernet port on the Xbox One. Unfortunately, Powerline technology heavily depends on your homes wiring and breaker box, thus you may see better results using wireless connectivity instead.
Finally, you can plug an Xbox One controller into your Windows 10 PC to play games remotely. You can also plug a headset into your Windows 10 PC and communicate as usual with your Xbox One friends.
How To Stream On An Xbox Series X Using A Capture Card
If you dont want to stream to Twitch or simply want more options in how your stream appears, youll need a capture card. There are a lot of options when it comes to capturing devices, but you dont want to go too cheap if youre streaming with a Series X. Look for a capture card that can stream at 1080p at 60 frames per second at least, and one that includes 4K passthrough, such as the Razer Ripsaw or Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+.

Live streaming is one of the best ways to share your gaming adventures with an audience. Whether it is fans, friends, or family, being able to interact with a streamer while they are playing your favorite video game is a one-of-a-kind experience. However, for many people, streaming is not feasible because it requires multiple hurdles. First, you need reliable internet that can output your stream at a watchable state, then a PC that can handle the software to run the stream, and if you are playing on a console, a capture card to transmit the gameplay to the PC. For someone looking to casually stream, that is a bit much to ask for. However, if you own an Xbox Series X or Series S, you are completely capable of streaming directly from your console. No PC or capture card is needed. Here is how to do so.
First, you need to download the Twitch app from the Xbox store. Open up the store app and search and download Twitch. It should be a quick download.
Once in the app, you need to create or log in with a Twitch account. Click on the account creation/sign-in in the top right of the screen. On the next window, click on the “Create a homegroup” button.
Then you will be asked to choose files and devices you want to share and set permission levels. In our case, you only need to set “Shared” permission to Video. You can also share pictures, music, documents, printers & devices as needed. If the shared files you do not want any users to see, just remember to set up the password to protect your Homegroup. Once you are done, click “Finish” to finish the process.
Now it’s time to add your videos to the homegroup. Open “File Explorer” and navigate to “This PC > Videos”. Next, in your Xbox One, open the Media Player app from the “Games & Apps” menu. You should see a folder labeled with the name of your PC. Open it and find your video files. Then you can try to play it on your Xbox One.

According the Microsoft’s Remote Play webpage, you’ll need the following to use the service:
- An Xbox Series X / S / One console
- A Windows 10 PC with at least 2GB of RAM and 1.5 GHz CPU or faster
- Compatible Xbox Controller
- The Xbox app for PC
- A Microsoft account with an Xbox profile
- An internet connection of at least 7-10 Mbps. Wired is preferred, but wireless is also achievable for both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz with varying results
Unlike PlayStation 4s Remote Play and PS Now, Microsoft’s streaming feature requires your Xbox console and PC to be on the same network, so you won’t be able to crack your laptop out at work and stream games from the Xbox Series X you have sitting at home.
It’s also likely that you already have the Xbox app installed on your Windows 10 PC or laptop if it’s a recently released product, but make sure you’re signed on with the same Microsoft account that you use for your console.
