Xbox Series X: Price Uk
The Xbox Series X is due to arrive in the holidays of 2020 and for many gamers what will separate the PS5 vs Xbox Series X debate is the price.
Both consoles are expected to fetch a pretty penny and both Microsoft and Sony will be eager not to get the pricing wrong. The worst thing one of them can do is allow their competition to significantly undercut the other.
Gaming is getting more and more expensive these days and with the holidays right around the corner, many gamers will only have enough for one console.
So what is the price of the Xbox Series X in the UK?
How Much Does It Cost To Ship An Xbox
The overall cost to ship an Xbox includes the cost of the shipping materials, along with the cost of the actual shipping. You can quickly and easily determine the cost for a sturdy box, packing material, and packing tape.
These three items should be relatively inexpensive, and you may already have a good box and packing material sitting around from a recent delivery you received. Your local post office may also have a packing station with some free supplies, such as packing tape.
Of course, shipping costs can be significant with heavier items such as a game console, so we recommend taking time and factoring in the overall cost before you set the selling price of your Xbox.

Cost To Ship An Xbox With Usps
Due to the size of the Xbox console and accessories, USPS Flat Rate Priority shipping may not be an option. Even the biggest, the Large Flat Rate Box, which measures 12 x 12 x 5.5, may not be big enough to fit an Xbox and accessories. Essentially, this means youll likely be using your own box, and USPS considers any package with a dimension over 12 to be a large package.
Using the bigger Xbox Series X as an example. Shipping an Xbox Series X across the US, from Tampa to San Francisco, in a box that measures 15 x 9 x 15 and weighs 15 pounds, you should expect to pay roughly $56 for USPS Retail Ground shipping.
You should also factor in a little extra for insurance, which is required if you sell your Xbox on Swappa. You can get a quote based on your specific box size, weight, and destination using the USPS Retail Postage Price Calculator.
Should I Buy The Xbox Series X Or The Xbox Series S
Which Xbox is right for you?
If youre after the best possible performance, the Xbox Series X is the way to go. Youre getting up to 4K resolution at 120fps, a built-in 4K / UHD Blu-ray player, twice the storage space as the Series S, and way more computing power. On the other hand, if youre interested in next-gen features like Quick Resume and 120Hz gaming, or you dont even have a 4K display on the game, you may want to consider saving $ 200 on the Series S.
If youre not planning on upgrading your home theater to a set-up that will take advantage of everything the Series X has to offer, the Xbox Series S is a worthy purchase. Youll still be able to play the same games and get practically all of the same next-gen features except 4K resolution gaming, and you can always expand the storage if you need it. And as a small bonus, the Series S is way more portable.
Apart from resolution and teraflops, either Xbox nets you Microsofts best-ever console features like Quick Resume, Smart Delivery, and 120fps Gaming, ensuring your new Xbox is really worth the money.

New Games No Hardware
Say you dont own an Xbox or a gaming PC, but you do have an Android phone. Does Microsoft have any next-gen gaming options for you? Thanks to game streaming, it does. On September 15th, Microsoft added game streaming to Xbox Games Pass Ultimate, which costs $14.99 a month. The feature, which was known previously as xCloud, could give you a way to play many of the biggest Xbox Series X games without having to own any gaming hardware at all. You can stream them to a device as simple as an Android phone, for example .
Game streaming isnt an entirely new idea Sony launched its PlayStation Now service way back in 2014 to a muted response but Microsoft is taking a much more interesting approach. Rather than focusing on older titles, as Sony did with PlayStation Now, Microsoft says its new games will be available to stream the day they release and lists recent first-party titles like Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 5, Tell Me Why, The Outer Worlds, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps as being among the 150-plus games available to stream at launch.
Microsoft promises to let you stream major Xbox games straight to your phone.

Xbox Series X Price: What Microsoft’s Next
The Xbox Series X may list for $500, but if you want to own one, double that. Here’s what you need to know about pricing on the next-gen console.
Microsoft’s official list price for the new Xbox is either $500 or $300, depending on the model. The Xbox Series X costs $500, while the more modest Xbox Series S lists for $300. The Series S has a slower processor, less internal storage, 1440p output instead of 4K and no optical drive. Despite crippling inventory shortages, all the major retailers continue to respect this pricing and sell the consoles at Microsoft’s list price. That’s cold comfort, though, because of the chronic out-of-stock status means that the only real marketplace to snag the Xbox Series X/S is through resellers where it regularly sells for no less than twice the price.
We’ve been offering the same advice for months now: Wait until you can get an Xbox Series X at the $500 retail price and avoid resellers and bundles.
In the meantime, Xbox restocks do happen on a regular basis, and gamers with fast reaction times have managed to snag a console. We are keeping an eye on inventory drops and let you know when one is imminent. Be sure to check out our Xbox Series X restock status article for more details. Below is a list of all the major retailers to help you get your own console.

There’s still no word on how much GTA V E& E will cost. We predicted the game could cost $69.99, which is the new MSRP of PS5 games. Take-Two Interactive was one of the first to adopt the new price with NBA 2K21 years ago.

How Much Do The Xbox Series X And Xbox Series S Cost
The Xbox Series X retails for $ 499 while the Xbox Series S retails for $ 299.
The Xbox Series X retails for $ 499 while the Xbox Series S can be had for just $ 299. Both consoles come with an Xbox controller and all the cables you need to get started.
If youd rather pay the full cost of a Series X or Series S up front, Microsoft is also offering a monthly payment plan for both of its newest consoles in select markets. Neither payment plan requires any upfront cost and both include Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Xbox One Provides Access To Game Pass
These days, Xbox Game Pass is the biggest draw of an Xbox console. If you’re not familiar, Game Pass is a monthly subscription that provides unlimited access to over 100 games.
You can download and play them on your Xbox for as long as you stay subscribed, and it’s full of high-quality games. Plus, all titles published by Xbox Game Studios come to Game Pass on their day of release.
Game Pass is $10/month for console only. There’s also Game Pass Ultimate, which is $15/month and includes access to Game Pass on PC, as well as Xbox Live Gold and other perks. For more info, see our full guide to Xbox Game Pass.
Both the Xbox One line and Xbox Series X/S provide full access to the Game Pass catalog, at least at the time of writing. The Xbox Series S|X will run the games better and faster, however, thanks to those consoles packing SSDs and more powerful internals.
That means if you want to check out lots of the titles on Game Pass, an Xbox One is a decent way to do so. However, many of the same games are on Game Pass for PC, so if you have access to a decent gaming computer, an Xbox One is largely redundant.

What Is The Xbox Series X Price
The official Xbox Series X price is $499 in the US and £449 in the UK. If you see a price higher than that without any extras, you are being overcharged and should avoid. Typically the inflated prices aren’t subtle either, we’re talking hundreds rather than tens extra.
Some stores may take advantage in other ways by limited sellable stock to bundles, with extra games or headset. We’ve seen some with really naff hats and T-shirts too. Some stores might bump up the prices of these items, but one thing’s for sure, you won’t be saving a penny on the bundled items at this time.
Is Microsoft Even Planning To Turn A Profit
Hype for Xbox Series X has been building for months, but now that Microsoft has confirmed the existence of a $299 Series S and now that weve seen a leak claiming a $499 price tag for the Series X we have a better idea of what the full Xbox lineup will look like when both allegedly launch in November.

Learning From The Past
The Xbox One sold for about £429 at launch, a huge mistake at the time considering the console didn’t seem to have a good enough reason to warrant that price.
During the era of the Xbox 360, the console became extremely popular as it was more accessible to people because of the cheaper price tag when compared to the PS3.
Microsoft ended up doing exactly what the PS3 had done and it cost them since then they have been working tirelessly to reprise their name and repair the damaged reputation of the Xbox One.
Phil Spencer came out earlier this year to say that hey had learnt from this mistake:
I would say a learning from the Xbox One generation is we will not be out of position on power or price, Spencer told The Verge. If you remember the beginning of this generation we were a hundred dollars more expensive and yes, we were less powerful. And we started Project Scarlett with this leadership team in place with a goal of having market success.
