Fortnite Save The World will no longer appear on the initial start screen, leaving many STW gamers debating its future.
STW has been relegated to the back-burner for some time after its eventual Fortnite free-to-play launch was scrapped.
But while its fanbase has been overshadowed by the popularity of Fortnite Battle Royale, many remain dedicated to the original version.
Just by looking at the Reddit page before todays 19.30 update, you can see at the time of writing this article that there were over 600 active users. Battle Royale has almost four times the number, but for a game that has seen a gradual slow down in development, it demonstrates real dedication and staying power.

MICROSOFT and Xbox One fans rejoice – there’s a way to get a free download of Fortnite Save the World… but not everyone can take part. Here’s what you need to know.

Fortnite Save the World Free Codes will soon be rolling out, but only for a few fortunate Xbox One owners.
Epic revealed over the Christmas break that it would be giving free copies of the co-operative shooting and construction game to certain players after there was a lot of confusion about free copies of the game included with Xbox One S bundles last year.
According to the Microsoft packaging, the Xbox One S Eon bundle was supposed to include an exclusive item set, 2,000 V-bucks for the in-game shop and “a full game download of Fortnite”.
Fans noted that this download only included the already free Fortnite Battle Royale, though, and not the paid-for Fortnite Save the World .
Epic acknowledged that the messaging was poorly worded and will be giving Save the World away for free to certain players.
“We agree that the messaging on the Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle was unclear and so will be granting free access to Save the World for those who purchased the bundle,” reads an Epic post.
“We are going to begin identifying players who have claimed the Eon Bundle and will be granting their accounts access to Save the World.”
To make things even better, Epic will be adding free Fortnite Save the World downloads to all future Xbox One S Eon bundles, too.

Fortnite Update 1930 Launches Today
Nearly all the most popular Reddit pages are dedicated to discussing the change over on the STW section, and there are plenty of fans joining in and commenting on whats going on. One user posted this comment today, ahead of the big changes, adding: I I am speechless
Another posted: So itll be among the hundreds of game modes in the Discovery menu All I can hope for is that STW isnt lost among those other modes.
But others are not sure, with some on Reddit pointing out that changes have been made to the Discovery system, making it easier to find stuff. There are also ways of favouriting different modes, making it faster to jump back into the games.
As of 19.20, Epic bumped up their tab with game modes by them is right beneath the recently played tab , one Reddit user points out.
Save the World is 99.9% going to be in that tab, and they probably bumped it up to have players get used to the tab without having to search for Epics main modes without scrolling through man creative-mad ones. I doubt theyll move the tab again any time soon, so for now, STW shouldnt be too hard to find.
It looks like Fortnite fans will have to wait and see just how easy it is to find Save the World after todays Fortnite update has launched and made the big changes. It was revealed in 2020 that the plan to redesign Save the World as a F2P title had been scrapped, while also adopting seasonal rotations as development cooled.

Fortnite: Save the World hasnt felt like a typical Early Access game for a long time, but now its official: Epic Games is stripping the kinda silly Early Access label from the premium game and slowing its pipeline of new content. The PvE-only experience of Save the World is perfect for gamers who love a story-driven game mode different from the battle royale mode. You can currently launch Fortnite from the Epic Games launcher and play Battle Royale, but it doesnt come with Save the World. Before playing Save the World, you must install it.
In Save the World, you can either fight the hordes, called husks, alone or ask a few friends to hop on. As with many story-driven campaigns, youll only have basic gear at the beginning. The more you play, the better the equipment youll find.
Do note you get AI-controlled teammates who help you during the campaign. However, its possible to turn that off and fight alone.

How To Trade In Save The World

Can You Get Fortnites Save The World Mode On Nintendo Switch
Fortnite, developed and published by Gears of War and Unreal Engine studio Epic Games, is a cooperative sandbox survival game where up to four players can fend off waves of enemies with weapons and traps before reaching the defending objective. It originally launched in paid early access for Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in July 2017. This particular mode became known as Save the World after Epic Games launched Fortnite: Battle Royale a month later.
While Save the World continues to be in paid early access, Battle Royale was released as a free-to-play title that did not require players to buy the Save the World campaign. The Battle Royale mode has since launched for other platforms, including iOS devices in March 2018 and the Nintendo Switch during Nintendos E3 2018 Nintendo Direct broadcast last month.
The two platforms have not received the Save the World mode, though it could be a good fit for the Switch considering it has significantly more power than a smartphone or tablet. According to Epic Gamesofficial FAQ for the game, that answer is a no. While Epic Games explained there would be no iOS version due to increased memory and CPU usage than Battle Royale, no specific reason was given for a Switch version.

Yes… but Sony has blocked cross-play of Fortnite between the PS4 and Switch, much to the anger of gamers. If you’ve played Fortnite on PS4 and try to sign in with your Epic Games account on the Nintendo Switch, you’re greeted with an error message: “This Fortnite account is associated with a platform which does not allow it to operate on Switch,” it exclaims.
The Switch version of Fortnite still supports cross-play between Xbox One, PC, Mac and mobile.
