It is absolutely worth it. I waited a long time to buy it myself after reading the bad reviews but I have loved every minute of it and it has been very helpful to keep my mind off of things. There are also a ton of new game changing mods on console.

Should have left it on the fs17 engine. Lots less buggy…things don’t work as well as fs17 either. Not as smooth. Always waiting for game to lock up. Tools don’t work sometimes. Longer you play, the jerkier it gets. Long, long load times. This info is from xbox one, so take at your own risk. Game made in Sweden now instead of UK…Some items are spelled in language I can’t understand, so I have to guess. Shortcuts in the help menu are not listed on all commands of implements. I wished I would have saved my $$$ and just stayed with fs17.

I Did As The Man Said Yet My Fields Are Barren
This is my first run at Farming Simulator and I went into it knowing that its not a triple A title and didnt expect state-of-the-art UI, controls, graphics, sound and the like. So, basically, I went in expecting nothing and maybe being surprised with something. I was surprised. Surprised at how tiny the text in the on-screen prompts and everything in the HUD disappeared into the background, making it near impossible to keep track of things. And because Ive never delved into the world of agricultural simulation before I wanted to at least learn how to do it. I did learn something: the bare basics of how to hook equipment to a tractor and drive over set fields that needed cultivation. I thought the process was easy enough and farming couldnt be that hard, but little did I know indeed.

Farming Simulator is a game where you get as close as you can to being a farmer without actually being one. However, it’s really easy to get overly confident in this game and just drive around without a care in the world. This is absolutely fine, there’s no real way to play any game, as long as you’re enjoying it.
That being said, if you’re looking at doing well in this game, make sure you don’t get cocky. Keep your spending to a low and focus on buying the items that are necessary. Don’t buy hundreds of animals if you can’t feed them and don’t buy every bit of machinery until you need them. Plan ahead and you’ll find yourself quickly thriving.

My memory of first setting foot on a farm begins with my nasal passages being filled with the eye-watering scent of manure followed by an hour or so looking at various fields of vegetation that I couldnt really care for and just wanted to see some animals I remember hearing about in the ever popular nursery rhyme featuring a farmer named MacDonald. As pleasant as the encounters sounded to my young little ears, the eventual experience was less so. Sure, it was amazing to finally see these creatures in real life and be able to interact with them, but everything surrounding it was so tainted with odour, dirt, mud, grit, and grime that you immediately felt like a few hours is more than enough for a farm life experience.
