How Much Is A Ps1 Worth

Xbox One X in 2020 – worth it? (Review)

A used PS1 is worth between $36.00 $720.00 depending on condition and if the console ships as part of a bundle. The mighty PS1 remains one of the biggest behemoths of the gaming world. This console sold over 102 million units over its lifetime, which means that there are a lot of them out and about on the internet.

The Series S Is Initially A Showstopper

I got my Series S in the same delivery as the Series X, and I was honestly more impressed by the former than the latter while unboxing the two consoles. It took me back to when I moved to America, and my original PAL PlayStation 2 wouldnt work here, so I had to get a PlayStation 2 NTSC Slim. I was awestruck by how something so small could play all these incredible games, and while the Series S doesnt shrink down to nearly the same size as the slim PS2, having something more compact than most textbooks is nonetheless impressive.

Then I booted it up, and all the same snappiness as the Series X was there. I was able to download a system update in a flash and manage all the setup via the much-handier Xbox app. Navigating the menus and downloading games from my library was equally as zippy, and to my delight, some of the titles were tens of gigabytes smaller thanks to the lack of 4K textures.

I was awestruck by how something so small could play all these incredible games.

Then I ran into the first catch of the Series S. That pesky 512GB SSD. Its not even 512GBs its more like 370GB of usable storage. I had six games installed, and I was already out of space, even with the smaller install files. Thankfully, I have uncapped gigabit internet in my apartment, but that is an incredible niche thing when youre talking about almost half of the U.S. population that plays video games. Most people do not have the luxury of being able to delete and re-download games conveniently.

Best Bang For Your Buck

One thing most hardcore gamers forget is that not everyone cares about 4K gaming. I bet most gamers dont even have a 4K TV to begin with.

This is exactly why Microsofts approach to 1440p gaming was a good thing. I dont care about the resolution as long as the game looks good and plays well.

If I can get all that on in Full HD and be able to play next-gen games for $299, Im going with the Series S. Wouldnt you?

But now there’s a powerful, native-4K option in the wild too: Xbox One X.

The Xbox One X system brings 12GB of DDR5 memory and a crazy 6 Teraflop GPU. Not only can it do native 4K UHD gaming with ease a feature no other console can currently do but it also allows you to play games in HDR and most games at higher frame rates. How Xbox One S Improves Upon Xbox One

Microsoft debuted the Xbox One S two years ago and it still remains core to the Xbox family in 2019. Bringing numerous revisions to the original design, the console has emerged as a strong entry-point into Microsoft’s growing gaming ecosystem. With the original Xbox discontinued, the Xbox One S is treated as the standard Xbox One console.

The Xbox One S delivers a sleek, angular aesthetic, coming in 40 percent smaller than its predecessor. Other features include vertical standing, an internal power supply, and a physical power button rather than the former touch-sensitive key.

Included in the box is the third-generation Xbox One controller, bringing numerous improvements over prior revisions. Bluetooth support is the heavy hitter, bringing native connectivity for PCs and mobile devices. An IR blaster also makes the cut for communication with various third-party devices.

Despite universal improvements, the Xbox One S does abandon the proprietary port for Microsoft’s Kinect sensor. To use Kinect, buyers need the now-discontinued Kinect adapter, splitting this into USB and 12V connectors. With Kinect production wrapped, this omission won’t affect many, but should be considered by motion control fans.

New features are headed to Xbox One S through regular system updates too, in line with Xbox One X.

Xbox Series S Vs Xbox One S Games

Xbox Series S One year Later (Is it still worth it?)

Even if you don’t choose an Xbox Series S, youll be able to play almost every new game on Microsofts older console. They wont run as well or look quite as good, but you wont be forced to upgrade to experience key titles that are coming to Xbox Series X and S like Halo Infinite. The Xbox One S is the console to choose if the idea of downloading a game makes your head spin, though, as it’s the only console of the two that has a disc drive.

You can expect most games to target 30 to 60fps on Xbox One S and 60 to 120fps on Xbox Series X. Xbox One S games will also likely hit a resolution of 900p to 1080p, while Xbox Series S will target 1080p to 1440p output, which can upscale to 4K.

One area where Xbox Series S benefits significantly is in terms of load times. Thanks to its super-fast SSD, games will load much quicker than they would on Xbox One S, so if you hate waiting around for your games to start, or simply want to upgrade your existing experience, the Series S is the way to go.

It’s also certain that future games will leave the Xbox One S behind eventually developers will increasingly rely on the newer system’s power as the years go by, and the install base of the new Xbox consoles grows.

Xbox One: What’s The General Experience Like In 2021

Image: Microsoft

All things considered, the Xbox One is still a fantastic way to experience everything Microsoft has to offer right now, whether you’re still hanging onto the original model from 2013, or benefiting from the more powerful Xbox One X. Microsoft has made a point of giving just as much attention to its older systems as it does to the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S for now, so you’re not missing out on too much by sticking with the Xbox One.

For example, the user interface remains almost exactly the same as that of the new consoles, you still get access to the vast library of backwards compatible games from the original Xbox and Xbox 360 generations, Xbox Game Pass is still filled with hundreds of titles you can play, and there are still very few exclusive games on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S at present, so you can access 99% of the modern Xbox library by sticking with the Xbox One.

You will notice differences if you get a chance to compare the Xbox One S with the new Xbox Series S, for example, primarily in terms of improved visuals, how much faster games load, how much better they perform , and many other quality-of-life improvements. The original Xbox One and Xbox One S definitely tend to struggle at times with more modern games, with the likes of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order suffering instances of judder and freezing on occasion.

Best Places To Sell Video Games For The Most Money In December 2021

Late last year, the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series Sredefined console gaming with supercharged graphics and processing power. These improvements allow the PS5 and XSX to deliver buttery-smooth high frame rates, native 4K resolution at up to 120 Hz in select titles, and even real-time ray tracing for cinematic special effects. And with ultra-fast SSD storage, loading times are quicker than ever before.

Not to be left out, Nintendo is also getting in on the action with their own next-gen game console. The eagerly-anticipated Nintendo Switch hits store shelves on October 8, 2021, for $349.99. Although this isnt quite the Nintendo Switch Pro or Nintendo Switch 2 with 4K resolution and Nvidia DLSS upscaling that many were hoping for, the Nintendo Switch OLED is a nice upgrade with a larger and more vibrant 7 OLED screen, twice the internal storage , improved speakers, and a better kickstand.

Unfortunately, the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch OLED dont come cheap. But dont worry Swappa can help. Selling your old game system is a great way to help fund your upgrade. Keep reading, as we compare the best places to sell used video games in October 2021.

Xbox One S Vs Xbox One: Should You Upgrade

Xbox Series S: Specs, Price and Vs Series X

Theres no doubt the new Xbox One S is a better all around console than its predecessor. Not only does it slim down the original consoles bulky frame, the Xbox One S comes with a load of features that make a far more desirable device.

Firstly, you get a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. Currently, those things will cost you upwards of £400 on their own. Secondly, you can stream 4K at the proper 60 Hz in HDR from apps such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video. Plus, theres even a slight performance boost. The console benefits from extra processing power, too.

Xbox One Provides Access To Game Pass

Xbox One X – Still Worth it in 2018?

These days, Xbox Game Pass is the biggest draw of an Xbox console. If you’re not familiar, Game Pass is a monthly subscription that provides unlimited access to over 100 games.

You can download and play them on your Xbox for as long as you stay subscribed, and it’s full of high-quality games. Plus, all titles published by Xbox Game Studios come to Game Pass on their day of release.

Game Pass is $10/month for console only. There’s also Game Pass Ultimate, which is $15/month and includes access to Game Pass on PC, as well as Xbox Live Gold and other perks. For more info, see our full guide to Xbox Game Pass.

Both the Xbox One line and Xbox Series X/S provide full access to the Game Pass catalog, at least at the time of writing. The Xbox Series S|X will run the games better and faster, however, thanks to those consoles packing SSDs and more powerful internals.

That means if you want to check out lots of the titles on Game Pass, an Xbox One is a decent way to do so. However, many of the same games are on Game Pass for PC, so if you have access to a decent gaming computer, an Xbox One is largely redundant.
