Rust Console Edition Tips And Tricks
The island of Rust Console Edition available today on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S is a harsh place. Literally everything here wants to kill you the local wildlife, other players and even the island itself will try their best to eliminate you and take your things, so what can you do to get a head-start? Hopefully, these tips will help you get a foothold in this unforgiving survival sandbox.
Make a sleeping bag This should be one of the first things you do collect 30 cloth from the green h emp plants you see growing around the island and craft a sleeping bag. Place it in a location near where you want to build, and you can respawn back there this makes it easier to not lose track of a good spot when you die. And you will die a lot!
Explore the island before building It might be tempting to start building straight away, but its always worth exploring the island before you decide to put down roots to get a good look around and find out where other monuments and bases are located. You dont want to build near a huge clan as a solo player!
Lock your Tool Cupboard Once youve built some form of base and placed your Tool Cupboard down so that no one can build near you and your base wont decay, craft a basic lock and place it on your Tool Cupboard. Now, even if someone gets inside your base, theyll have to waste extra resources breaking into the Tool Cupboard. This also applies to small and large storage crates lock them up to frustrate your raiders!

Does Rust Console Edition Have Good Character Customisation
Like its PC counterpart, Rust: Console Edition does not even allow players to choose the gender of their playable character, with players being assigned a random gender/race/appearance upon joining first a server.
And this random appearance is permanent, according to Facepunch Studios founder Gary Newman who had this to say when asked about character customization.
Just like in real life, you are who you are you cant change your skin colour or your face.
While players can mix and match cosmetic skins to give themselves a unique appearance, Rust is not a title known for its cosmetic variation.
Four Years Later Rust Finally Leaving Early Access Price Increase Incoming
The developers send their thanks to everyone who supports Rust.
After four years in Early Access, Rust is going to make a full release. The transition from Early Access to a release will come with a few alterations.
There will be no big reveals, launch parties, around the world tours or cash prize giveaways for this event. Staff will not be moving onto other projects, the game will simply release on February 8th.
There will be some changes though, as the game is not yet complete. Rusts weekly updates will transition to monthly updates, in order to keep the game stable. The developers have described this transition as the prototype version of the game finally entering its Alpha.
Additionally, the price for Rust will be increased from its current $19.99 to $34.99.
Back in 2013, Garry Newman, the creator of Garrys Mod, first released the survival video game known as Rust on Steams Early Access program. The game came while DayZ was in its hype phase and was essentially a clone of the game, except with the addition of crafting.
In Rust, players spawn as a male or female character, there is no choice in any aspect of your character that means the characters sex, height, race, appearance and even breast/dong size are determined by a players SteamID. The whole point of the game is to survive.

Online multiplayer game Rust lets players loose in a frantic world where survival is the number one priority. If you are to survive you must battle it out in a harsh open world environment with wolves and bears for company. Rust: Console Edition Is The Premium Price For An Inferior Product Worth It
While Rust has had a reasonable degree of success on PC, the game really struggled to break out into the mainstream. In early 2021, however, that changed as the game saw a pickup in exposure courtesy of some large live streams. It was a well-timed boost, with the console launch looming around the corner. I honestly can’t help but wonder if this boost in interest in the game didn’t have something to do with the sudden release of a console edition that clearly needed a little more time and work.
It’s not unreasonable for a title like Rust to release without parity between console ports and their PC predecessors. The differences between these two particular versions are so striking that it actually affects your ability to take advantage of cross-play. The developers have also said that despite cross-play, they view the console edition as a separate game from the PC version and that the update roadmap will follow its own path. So players on console can’t even look to the updates on PC to know what to look forward to as far as fixes for the console edition.
What Is The Rust Console Edition Community Like
Regardless of platform, the Rust official server community is horrendous despite Rust being a survival game that is best enjoyed when teams of players work together to form factions, players of all levels kill on sight.
I have been killed as a brand new player with only a stone and a torch repeatedly by various well-geared players, and even half-naked new players will beat each other to death for what few items the other may be carrying.
Rust Offical servers are best played as a survival horror game, where no one can be trusted, and everyone wants to eat you.
Unofficial and roleplay servers are often far more enjoyable, but unfortunately, Rust: Console Edition does not support community-run servers at launch however, the community have been assured that private servers are a priority for the developers and are expected to launch within the next few weeks, radically increasing the options for players who wish to cooperate with others or play in a more immersive, and less murderous environment.

Popular Pc Game Rust Is Coming To Ps4 And Xbox One
Rust is finally coming to consoles. Developer Facepunch Studios and publisher Double Eleven have announced that the former’s incredibly popular competitive multiplayer survival game, Rust, is coming to PS4 and Xbox One in 2020. For those that don’t know: Rust has been on the scene for awhile, releasing on Steam Early Access in 2013. Initially created as a clone fo DayZ, with elements of Minecraft thrown in, Rust changed a lot during its time in Early Access. Eventually in 2018, the game left Early Access and fully launched on Steam. At this point, the peak of the game’s popularity was long gone, but to this day it remains very popular on PC.
At the moment fo publishing, there’s no word when in 2020 the port will release. Further, it’s unclear how much it will cost, but given the game costs $35 on PC, you’d assume it will be anywhere between $30 and $40. Anyway, while we are still missing quite a few salient details, the aforementioned pair did give us a brand-new trailer, which you can peep at the top of the article.
When Is The Rust Console Edition’s Release Date
Rust for PS4 and Xbox will be released on May 21, 2021. This date was confirmed during an on March 26 after a spring release window was teased earlier in the year. This release will come about a year and a half after the ports announcement.
The console ports were confirmed during Microsoft’s X019 event and were slated for a 2020 release. The whole year went by though, and we didn’t hear anything else about these ports.
Then in December 2020, developers Facepunch Studios and Double Eleven released a blog post confirming the delay: “We love making great games and bringing them to new audiences, but that sometimes means taking a bit longer to get it right than we originally planned and comes at the unfortunate cost of the disappointment and trust of those who were so keen to play it upon launch,” the blog post said.
The game was rated by the ESRB in January, and a closed beta for the console ports was subsequently held. Clearly, this was all building toward a May release.

Heres An Update On Rust For Playstation And Xbox
Rust is having a moment. Some streamers started resurrecting the seminal PC survival game and lo and behold: according to developer Facepunch, its made over $1 million in revenue in a single day, twice in the last week. Strange news but good news in a video game ecosystem where even older games can become overnight sensations, and it sounds like that player base might get a chance to expand even further in the near future.
As noticed by comicbook, a rating for the game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 just popped up on the ESRB, which indicates that at the very least progress is being made towards releasing the game on console. And while that doesnt explicitly mention Xbox Series X+S or PS5, we presume that the game will be playable through backwards compatibility.
Rust was originally scheduled to come to console in 2020, but as some of you may have noticed, 2020 was a whole thing. The developer recently gave an update saying that while the game clearly wasnt going to make it onto Xbox and PlayStation in 2020, it was still in process and on its way:
We love making great games and bringing them to new audiences, but that sometimes means taking a bit longer to get it right than we originally planned and comes at the unfortunate cost of the disappointment and trust of those who were so keen to play it upon launch.

In Rust, players explore an abandoned island filled with dangers such as wolves, radiation and up 100 other players. If players survive the steep learning curve, anything is possible, such as building forts, acquiring artillery and forging alliances.
While Rust is several years old at this point, the game still has a healthy playerbase, as it recently shattered its player count twice on Steam over the last few weeks, per Garry Newman, one of the developers at Facepunch and the creator of the immensely popular Garry’s Mod.
