Overwatch 2 is about to be announced in full at BlizzCon 2019, but for now the sequel to Blizzards first-person shooter is shrouded in a lot of mystery. We dont know exactly how itll function and how much of a sequel itll really be, but if the rumors are true, we can start to figure out how much itll cost you.
Heres what we know. Overwatch 2 is a pseudo-sequel to the 2016 game many of us have played or at least watched. According to the Kotaku report, the next game will focus on PVE. Itll probably include a lot more scenarios already seen in limited holidays, like Storm Rising and Uprising. Youll team up with a group of friends or random players and fight off AI-controlled enemies for rewards. It will reportly be very similar to Left 4 Dead.
That leaves us to the big question: how much will it cost? While theres some speculation on Blizzard releasing it as free-to-play, it seems more likely itll cost the usual $39.99 on PC and $59.99 on console. With the amount of content in their games at launch and the souring attitude toward loot boxes, a standard purchase cost feels more realistic. It would be a big mistake to design a game around a cheap or free price that tries to nickel and dime you for randomized cosmetics right now, especially when loot boxes are being looked at for their legality.

How Much Data Bandwidth Does Overwatch Use
I have a monthly data cap so I’m wanting to k own how much darmta it uses per match or per hour. So ill know if I can play this without going over my limit.
I run netlimiter at all times to record my useage, I was invited to beta on day 1 and played a fair amount .
This is the stats the game client itself used.
So in the two months it only used around 2.3gig total, I’m in Aus so have data limits as well so yeah you will be fine mate.
Exact numbers are difficult without the game online, but in general once a game has been downloaded it’s actual use doesn’t take up much data. I know that Team Fortress 2 uses maybe 80 mbs an hour of solid play in a 32 player server. You’d use several hundred times that amount of data watching the same amount of Netflix or YouTube.
TL DR Rough estimate of 80mb an hour. Cut a Netflix movie out of your schedule and you’re probably set for the month.

How Much Will Overwatch 2 Cost
Since Overwatch 2s release at Blizzcon 2019, many details have been revealed about the game, however, its cost and exact release date remain in question. With a lot riding on the success of Overwatch 2 for the future of the franchise, its not clear how much Blizzard will charge players for the new game.

Piecing Together What We Already Know
From the information given at Blizzcon, Overwatch 2 will be a sequel of Overwatch and is build on a vastly upgraded engine. They have also revealed that Overwatch and Overwatch 2 players will be able to play PvP together, including the new maps and heroes. Overwatch 2 will, however, have exclusive PvE content.
Because it is, essentially, optional it seems that Overwatch 2 will not be free to play. It is likely that, because it is just PvE, that the game could be as low as $30.00, however, it is more likely that it will be $60.00.
Neither of these prices has been confirmed by Blizzard officially, they are simply speculations based on what information fans do have thus far. Since Jeff Kaplan stated that he does not know when Overwatch 2 will be coming out, its hard to know a timeline for when its cost will be officially announced.

Overwatch Headlines New Xbox Free Play Days Weekend
Microsoft is hosting another Free Play Days event on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, making a handful of games free-to-play for the weekend. There are three games up for grabs this time, and they cover a pretty wide range of genres between them. This Free Play Days weekend is headlined by none other than Overwatch, which rolled out a cross-play beta earlier this week.
This isnt just standard Overwatch thats available through Free Play Days, though, but rather the Overwatch Origins Edition. The Origins Edition includes the base game and skins for five heroes: Reaper, Soldier: 76, Bastion, Pharah, and Tracer. It also includes in-game items for other Blizzard games, unlocking Tracer in Heroes of the Storm, a Baby Winston pet in World of Warcraft, portraits for StarCraft II, a Hearthstone card back, and Mercy Wings for Diablo III.
Overwatch is going free on Xbox alongside the launch of Ashes Deadlock Challenge, a new limited-time event that grants players new icons, sprays, and an epic skin for Ashe by completing matches and watching Overwatch Twitch streams for a certain number of hours. Overwatch should be free-to-play at this point. There are plenty of reasons why Blizzard should switch up the revenue model for the hero shooter. I imagine it will eventually , but until then, there are some solid discounts available.
