What’s Xbox Play Anywhere
If you bought a game digitally on Xbox, it’s attached to your account. Some of these digital games are ‘Xbox Play Anywhere’ titles, meaning that Xbox allows you to play it on your computer without having to buy it again. You can work on the same save files and achievements on both devices. Most Game Pass games are Xbox Play Anywhere titles.
Only games on the Xbox Play Anywhere list can be enjoyed on your PC. Many people who are subscribed to the Game Pass enjoy it but you can also buy individual titles if you prefer. To check if you’ll be able to play a particular Xbox game on PC, search for it on their website or on the Xbox PC app.
Here’s how to do it:

- Once youve established the stream, youll need to decide if you want to connect your Xbox One controller to your PC or continue to operate it from your Xbox. If your Xbox is a bit further away, you may wish to connect it to your PC. Once youre ready to proceed, press Continue.

Getting The Best Out Of Wireless
The original Xbox One console has a dual-band 802.11n component and can connect to the 2.4GHz or the 5GHz band.
The 2.4GHz band is great for penetrating walls and thick objects, but its also the default wireless connection for many devices in your home. This band is not only congested, but its also typically incapable of reaching its maximum theoretical speed of 144Mbps.
The 5GHz option makes for the ideal connection because its less congested and offers faster speeds. The flip side is that this band has a harder time penetrating solid objects, so it has a narrow reach. Its maximum theoretical speed is 300Mbps.
Meanwhile, the Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles have a dual-band Wi-Fi 5 component. The theoretical maximum speeds are 867Mbps on the 5GHz band and 400Mbps on the 2.4GHz a big improvement over the original Xbox One.
In all cases, the local environment is a major influence on the connection speed between the Xbox One and the router in addition to the wireless connection between the router and the Windows 10 device. That said, the physical locations of both your Xbox One and Windows 10 PC in relation to the router are extremely important, especially if using the 5GHz band.

What Is Xbox One Game Streaming
There are two different things that game streaming can refer to. The first involves live streaming Xbox One gameplay to a platform like Twitch or . The other involves streaming from the console to a computer that’s connected to the same network.
The purpose of streaming an Xbox One to a PC is that it can turn any Windows 10 PC that’s connected to the same network into a remote display for the console. That means you can play games, or watch movies, or use an Xbox One app on any Windows 10 tablet, laptop, or desktop computer, without physically moving the console, as long as everything is hooked up to the same network.

If the game you want to play remotely isn’t included on the Xbox Play Anywhere list, your only other option is to play it via streaming.
To do this, your PC and Xbox One will need to be on the same internet connection. You’ll also need to make sure that both systems stay connected to the internet if you lose your connection, you’ll lose the stream.
You should also make sure that both devices are fully updated. If there are any updates pending, install them.
1. On your Xbox One’s Home screen, press the Xbox button on the controller.
2. Navigate to the Profile & System tab, and select the “Settings” option.
3. In to the “Devices & connections” tab, select “Remote features.”
4. Select “Xbox app preferences.”
5. On the left-side menu, select either “Allow connections from any device” or “Only from profiles signed in on this Xbox.” On the right-side menu, select “Allow game streaming to other devices.”
7. On your PC, click the Start button and type “Xbox Console Companion” into the search bar. Once it appears, click “Open.”

Stream Xbox Games To Your Phone Or Tablet
For on-the-go Xbox gaming, download the Xbox app for your Android or iOS device, sign in, and connect a controller to your phone. An Xbox One controller will do nicely, especially paired with a foldable clip, though you can also use mobile controllers designed for iPhones, iPads, and Android devices like the Gamevice.
From the Xbox app on your phone or tablet, tap the Connection icon in the upper-right cornerit’s the one that looks like an Xbox with radio waves coming out of it . Tap the console in question, then choose Remote Play on This Device to start a remote session. Remember, the closer you are to the router, the better your experience will be over Wi-Fi.
Note that the Series X may have one or two quirks at this time as well, though in my experience it can vary from game to game. Forza Horizon 4, for example, currently has a bug when streaming from the the Series X where moving the joystick also presses the corresponding D-Pad button. Other users report audio crackling when streaming with the latest Xboxes.
While it is now physically possible to stream from your new console to a mobile device, it hasnt been perfected yet. Hopefully, Microsoft and developers will continue to improve the experience as they roll out more streaming support for the Series X and S.

How To Play Xbox Games On A Macbook Or Other Devices
As you might expect, it’s not so simple streaming your Xbox games to a MacBook. There’s no official Xbox app for macOS, and no official way of streaming whatever’s running on your Microsoft console to an Apple computer. If this is something you want to do, you might want to consider investing in a Windows computer.
There is a third-party solution in the form of OneCast, though it only works with the older Xbox One X and Xbox One S consoles, and it will set you back $19.99. You need to do the same setup on the Xbox that we’ve mentioned above, and then when you launch the OneCast software on macOS the console should be recognized.
One caveat to bear in mind is that OneCast only works across local Wi-Fi networks, not the wider web, so you can’t use the application to play on your Xbox from the other side of the world. What’s more, you need to use your usual Xbox controller, so you’re limited by Bluetooth range there .
While Xbox Remote Play isn’t officially available for macOS, there are Xbox apps for iPhones, iPads, and Android devicesso if you have a mobile device you can stream games from your Xbox without much hassle. The Xbox setup is the same, and on your phone or tablet you just need to sign in using your Microsoft account credentials. Again, you’ll need to connect an Xbox controller to play.

How To Play Xbox Games On Your Laptop
It’s easier than you might expect.
If you own an Xbox Series X, an Xbox Series S, or one of the previous generation models, there might well be occasions when you want to get down to some serious gaming, but the main TV screen the console is attached to is already in usewhether that’s by family members or housemates.
The solution is to run games from your Xbox but play them on your laptop. It’s easier than you might think to stream gameplay to a different device on the same Wi-Fi network. In some scenarios, it even works over the internet too, so you could be sitting on your laptop in a hotel room and still playing games from your Xbox.

Some But Not All Game Pass Games Are Included
This is only for a subset of a subset of your Xbox library. Games I’ve bought and downloaded individually, from Cyberpunk 2077 to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, are not included, only games from the Game Pass library. That library adds and removes games on a regular basis and not every Game Pass game is there, but a good number are. I’ve seen Outriders, Gears 5 and Doom Eternal, plus smaller indie games such as Subnautica and Outer Wilds.

Make sure the game is a Play Anywhere title
When you set up your Windows 10 PC, make sure you are using a Microsoft Account to sign in, not a local account. Then use your Microsoft Account you used on the Xbox to sign in.
After you signed in on your PC, you can open the Windows 10 store and click on the “Three dots menu” in the upper right corner next to your account picture.
There go to the library and find your compatible games. Simply install the games from there, and you can continue where you left off on the Xbox.
The most critical part is, that you HAVE TO use the same Microsoft Account as you did on the Xbox One!

Like , cloud gaming via Game Pass Ultimate doesn’t actually run the game on your Android device. Your shiny new Pixel 4A is a wonderful phone, but it doesn’t have the horsepower to run a game like Gears 5 without melting into a puddle of steaming slag. That’s where Microsoft’s streaming technology comes in. The game actually runs on a server farm somewhere far away, and the video feed is streamed to your mobile device. It’s like playing a game by remote control, but the console or PC that powers it is outside your house.
To play, just download the .
