Here Are Just A Few Reasons Why We Believe Guitar Hero Will Rock Again

How to play Guitar Hero 3 on Xbox One

If theres one thing I hope well get to see on the next-gen consoles it would be the return of Guitar Hero. It would be so cool to continue those awesome jam sessions with friends and family on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Who can forget Activision and Harmonixs hard-rocking music rhythm game? Guitar Hero, which debuted back in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, allowed players to join the ultimate rock music party with a guitar-shaped controller used to simulate a lead, rhythm or bass guitar.

Its been five years since the last installment, Guitar Hero Live , and fans are craving for a comeback concert.

Can I Carry On With My Previous Xbox 360 Game Saves On Xbox One Or Xbox Series X/s

If you originally set your Xbox 360 to save games to the cloud you will be able to download the save files to the Xbox One version and carry on. The cloud files are permanently associated with your gamertag so the Xbox One should do this automatically.

If you only saved your in-game progress locally, to the hard drive, you will need to restart your Xbox 360 and save them to the cloud instead. If you no longer have your Xbox 360, sadly you won’t be able to access the files.

Considering the first-gen Xbox didn’t save games to the cloud in the same way, you can’t carry on with old save games.

How Does Xbox Backward Compatibility Work

The Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S are able to play Xbox 360 and original Xbox games through emulation software that makes your console think it’s a last generation machine for the purposes of playing classic games.

When a supported game is started on the machine, the current or last-gen console opens the emulator and, in all regards, the game works as if it was running on an Xbox 360 or 2001 Xbox. The opening screen appears first then the game will load.

All other aspects and features that would normally be available on an Xbox 360 or Xbox are available on the Xbox One/Series X/S too, including the hub on the former . In addition, all new features of the more recent Xbox consoles work, including the ability to take screen grabs and record and share video of gameplay.

Xbox Series X/S owners get an additional bonus with the latest consoles able to play many of the backward compatible Xbox 360 and Xbox games with Auto HDR enabled. This adds virtual high dynamic range contrast and colours to make the titles look better.

Here Are A Few Reasons Why Guitar Hero On The Ps5 And Xbox Series X Is A Good Idea:

    1. While theres currently no official announcement regarding the future of the franchise, a new patent filed earlier this year for a music controller by Activision might point to a resurrection of the beloved game:

A music-based video game provides a user-directed sound generation feature. In some embodiments, the user is provided a video game controller simulating a musical instrument, which the user may operate similarly to its real musical instrument counterpart.

This sounds like good news for Guitar Hero fans. It just might mean that the studio is prepping a new design for next-gen consoles.

    2. When you consider that the franchise has sold over 25 million copies worldwide and has generated over $2 billion in revenue, it all makes perfect sense. Studios like money and this seems like a guaranteed way to make more.

    3. The title has always received positive praise, with aggregating review websites GameRankings and Metacritic both scoring the Guitar Hero Live release around 80%.

    4. Rock music isnt dead. With great new music out there, theres definitely an audience for a new game. Just imagine rocking along to Pearl Jams Dance Of The Clairvoyants.

    5. One of the main reasons that Guitar Hero halted was because of oversaturation. There were just too many games competing in the genre at the time. We had Band Hero, Rock Band and DJ Hero out at the same time. Thats no longer the case.

If consumers went nuts for playing rock songs on plastic guitars, wouldn’t they just love a game that actually had consequences in the real world? The idea of gamifying learning a musical instrument is not something new, however, few companies have done it right. In 2011, Rocksmith would allow gamers to score points on a real guitar!

Ubisoft has marketed it as “the fastest way to discover guitar”, but are its claims all they say to be?

Do 360 Guitars Work On Xbox One

E3 201: Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Explained

Exactly how will Xbox One be able to run Xbox 360 games, especially when it was such a contentious idea just a few years ago? Shacknews visited with Microsoft during E3 2015 to find out.

For years, there’s been a hesitation to trade in previous generation consoles, since the next generation would not support backwards compatibility. The folks at Microsoft have heard the outcry from fans, so the company began looking into how to make this idea possible, a tall task given that the Xbox One and Xbox 360 are essentially built on different architecture. Now it appears that a breakthrough is at hand, with Microsoft announcing on Monday that a future Xbox One update will enable backwards compatibility;with most Xbox 360 games. Shacknews endeavored to find out how this process would work.

As some may have surmised, the solution is in software emulation. The Xbox One will get the ability to emulate any Xbox 360 software and run it with the Xbox One hardware. In order to do so, users will need to jump online to download the necessary packaging pieces and essentially run through an installation process. Think of it as a mandatory install, just as with any other Xbox One game, so users will want to retain hard drive space.

The last thing to note is that this is backwards compatibility;for software only. So while a game like Rock Band 3 or Guitar Hero World Tour would certainly be playable on an Xbox One, the instruments will not be supported. Sorry, music game fans.

Guitar Hero Live Will Offer A First

Activision has officially revealed Guitar Hero Live, the first game in its music rhythm series in five years. The game will be released later this fall for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles, among other platforms, and will give players a first-person viewpoint on playing in a music band.

    Activision says:

“A quantum leap forward in immersion and realism, GH Live is a live-action experience that delivers the full emotional roller coaster of being on stage and performing in a real band, in front of real crowds, who dynamically react in real-time to how well or poorly you play. As the lead guitarist, you play an array of songs that span the changing musical landscape, in a variety of venues, from the smallest club stage in front of a hundred people, to the massive main stage of an outdoor festival in front of a hundred thousand people.”

Guitar Hero Live, which is being developed by the DJ Hero team at FreeStyleGames, will also have another feature called GHTV:

There’s also a new guitar controller that’s being made for the game which will have two rows of three buttons, instead of just one row of four buttons as found on previous models. Activision says it will make it easier for beginners to learn while also offering experienced Guitar Hero fans ways to create more complex finger combinations.

    The Microphone And Additional Instruments

How To / How Do I Sync / Connect My Guitar Hero Live Guitar Controller on Xbox One Video

While I don’t really consider this an instrument, I’ll write a page about it anways. The vocals instrument is, by far, the easiest instrument to play in RB and GH. The only thing you do is sing the correct lyrics and match the pitch it gives you. Expert is extraordinarily strict on this, so Easy and Medium are much funner to play. Other than that, there’s not very much you do with vocals. However, this is where it gets fun. If you know the lyrics to some of the songs, and you happen to have a mic stand lying around , grab that and start playing Drums, Bass, or Guitar and start playing “Frontman” while singing, it makes the game much more fun :). It’s a little weird to play at first, but it’s way fun once you get the hang of it. It takes practice, but it’s way fun to play! Only play songs you know by heart, though, so you can be singing, while focusing on your instrument . What I would do, play the song once before without vocals just to warm up, and then play it with vocals, so you know the instrument track you’re playing better.
